Hello.
I'm experiencing a weird problem. When I turn on WiFi it starts scanning and after 10-15 seconds it turn itself off, without showing any available networks.
Running 1.83, rooted.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

hey, I've had my x10 for a few days, very good phone just a few issues that are kinda annoying.
I'm running the 020 firmware still, and everytime I turn on my phone and click browser, the wi-fi isn't working so it says cannot connect to page.
After a 10 seconds the wi-fi starts working, can someone explain why this is happening? The only app that I think would interfere with this would be advanced task killer, so could that be the problem?
Anyone else with this problem plx help.
Does it by any chance reflect your phones coverage.. I remember some people saying how their wifi wouldn't work as soon as phone coverage went down?

I had the same on 020. I updated to 026, now wifi kicks in fairly quickly when the phone comes out of sleep.

Is probably because of wifi sleep policy.
Is set to turn off when screen is closed and connecting back to the hotspot takes a few seconds.
If you charge your phone daily you can change the wifi policy to always on
Twice now my tab has been put to awake and it will not take my visual password. And when I try to put it back to sleep it won't work, it just dims the screen. I have to wait until it allows me to turn it off, which it won't let me for like 30 to 60 seconds.

I've seen that, and then have to do a reboot. But I only seen it happen when I have the Wifi set to disconnect when screen turns off. I haven't seen it when I have the Wifi set to never disconnect.

This glitches are supposed to get fix with the up coming update.
This has happened to me multiple times, and I do not (and never have) had my wifi set to disconnect when the screen is off.
Assuming they'll be fixed with updates, it's not such a big dea.

The quick fix (that's shorter than rebooting the thing) is to hold down power till the shutdown / silent mode prompt comes up, select silent and it kicks the tablet free from it's limbo.
However it doesn't fix the issue as it will stick again when you lock.
Anyone else having issues with the wifi turning off on its own? Got my S5 yesterday on AT&T. There have been a few times that the wifi will turn off and it can't be turned back on unless I restart.
I've experienced this with wifi settings as is out-of-the-box and when I changed the option to only have it on during sleep while plugged in.

Try this, go into settings, press wifi, then press the button consisting of 3 dots in the top right corner and then press advanced. where the settings state "keep wifi on during sleep", make sure it is set to always.
also check the wifi timer is not on either.
Let me know how you guys get on

Yes, that's the problem. It is fixed by not using the feature... Great, isn't it?

I have the exact same issue and am thinking to call warranty and see what they can do. This happens on any router, very annoying. You can avoid phone restarts btw, just put the phone in airplane mode and back in normal, when you do that it will be able to turn wifi back on. I am wondering is this bug on every att galaxy s5?
this bug occurs when you have the keep WiFi on during sleep option off. this saves a lot of battery, and to me avoiding this option isn't a fix to the problem, because on every android device I have I make sure WiFi turns off during sleep and never had issues reconnecting back when I wake up the device but galaxy s5 has that issue
Guys I'm trying to fix my daughters phone, I've looked around and I tried a few things to no avail.
The issue is the phone is on 4.4.2 nb1 from an ota update. The phone used to be my sister in law's. Before she gave it to my daughter she did a factory reset and now Bluetooth and WiFi both won't turn on. No matter what you do.
I tried to Odin a stock nb1 image to see if maybe the ota update was corrupted or something but it only starts and runs for like 2 seconds before it will just hang and do nothing.
Any ideas?

Try turning wifi power save mode off. Dial *#0011#, press menu then wifi and then switch it off and see if it does anything.
When i turn on bluetooth while wifi is also turned on my phone freezes. Does anyone also have this issue? And is there a fix for this issue?
Stock or custom? Nougat or Oreo? BTW, no problem here.. my WiFi is always active, and in my car, also the bluetooth... No problems whatsoever. Maybe you should do a factory reset...

If you have the latest software for your device installed and factory reset didn't work, then you should RMA the device.
I have the same freeze but not with the bt on like you have , If wifi is on and device go to sleep on screen off it will stuck and hang cpu gets warm and phone hang even can't restart the regular way, the only solution is to turn off wifi before locking the phone or just set wifi to always on on setting.
Yesterday my phone totally freezed for about 15 minutes i was not about to force restart it also. My wifi was on. I turned on bluetooth to share a picture. As soon as i turned it on my phone got stuck.
