hi all. im kinda new to this forum stuff. anyway, a couple months ago i permrooted my g2 with visionary, and last week my phone's touch screen stopped responding. so, i decided to ship my phone in to tmobile. however, i attempted to unroot (xda process) and i skipped the step about editing my image with HexEditor before placing the PCIMG10.zip on my phone. technically my phone is still "rooted" with clockwork and s-on. I want to COMPLETELY unroot my phone, but have no clue on what to do next, as i tried to turn s-off with terminal. Please Help.

Follow the Wiki method to unroot, and don't skip any steps.... you'll be fine.
That's the problem I'm having. I turned s-on before completley unrooting my phone. Everytime I go into terminal to turn s-off, to try and restart the unrooting process, I enter the codes and it says "d: cannot be found" or something like that. Gah!
Sent from my T-Mobile G2

sounds like you have s=off but your not rooted did you use visionary to root
i got temp root with visionary , dont think the permroot is working, not sure at all.. i gave gingerbreak another shot and i ran rom manager. no error message came up about not having root access. maybe it worked.
S=off and run the gfree under terminal emulator

There you go.
You aren't running stock, rootedfroyo. I believe gfree is supposed to run on the stock, rooted froyo ROM. I may be wrong though.
Anybody want to help us out?
So should i recover to stock and try gfree under it?
I was recently running the latest Sense v4 ROM. I rooted using the gfree method + engineering bootloader. I loaded the stock 2.2.1 ROM from T-mobile and now I'm stuck with s=off and I can't get s=on again. I've tried reverting using the gfree method and nothing... stays s=off. I need to return this phone asap to T-mobile. Can someone with experience please help me?
