[Q] microSD - Can anyone yet confirm? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

HI does anyone have a 4G Galaxy Tab 10.1 (slim) YET?
If yes can you confirm that there IS an microSD card slot?
If noone has one yet can anyone confirm whether they KNOW for certain if there is or isn't going to be microSD?
Everything i read has conflicting reports on whether there will be a microSD card slot - in my mind if there isn't then it's a XOOM for me instead.
Thanks in advance!

i saw this in one of the other threads HERE

That looks like it means yes it does have a microSD card slot - however it looks like its the wifi version it's talking about....(edit) oops didn't see the HSPA+ - so yes it is the 4G model sweeeeeeeeeeeet
I am annoyed that they have put a proprietary PDMI to USB interface - but if it also lacked a microSD slot then it would be a deal breaker.

According to the specs on the Verizon version of the 4G 10.1 it doesn't list microSD - so it's really freaking confusing - do I wait for this and it doesn't have microSD or go buy the Xoom which has that plus hdmi out, but is bigger and heavier.

Tab above is 3G not 4G

I also noticed the Verizon page doesn't mention it, and I wasn't expecting that.
This is becoming SOOO frustrating, because we know they do have the capability to put it there, they just mix and match specs for different markets.
It will be a big let down if the Verizon one doesn't Micro SD!

4G

You are correct there - so we have a 3G version with microSD being sold in Poland.... odd
Sigh I guess I will just have to wait a while until it officially comes out at the end of the month or next month so people who have bought the device can confirm whether it comes with microSD or not...

MicroSD Pocket Card Reader.... On My Key Chain.

This little card reader is amazing. Its so tiny it gets lost on my key chain. I have used it many times and it works flawlessly up or down loading data from any PC that has a USB port to my HTC 8925. Very handy to have.
I rarely rave about products but for around $7.00 this little gem is a no brainier.

The sandisk 8GB card I bought last year came with a card reader and it is smaller than that one. Can be bought seperately for around the same price.

I bought a set with a microSD and the same reader as the OP a couple of months ago. Love it, and it's the fastest one I've seen so far.

I'd say maybe mine is slightly longer if anything but different shape so hard to tell. They are BOTH small!
Keys.....
No words but see this.....

Take care when using the reader as a holder for transporting/backing up. Have lost (then found) a card.
OK I've copied the key. Now, where's the lock? : )

Dun dun duh!
Now you just need to work out which one is my front door key or copy them all and also find my home address and then I'll be worried. Oh and get past my rather large stranger hating dog.
Anyway there is a technique which is widely available and allows you to defeat most yale type locks anyway so why do you even need a key?
If anyone is interested, you can get an 8GB card AND the card reader from Newegg for $18.99:

HTC's hipsteriffic invitations for a June 24th event in London contained precious few clues (DUDE'S WEARING A ROSE), but the Economic Daily News is now reporting something totally reasonable: it's for the Hero and Lancaster, HTC's presumed next Android phones.
Curiously, the paper refers to the two phones as one device, in two versions differentiated only by a keyboard.
The HTC Hero will be available in two versions, with and without a QWERTY keyboard. The model with a keyboard will be named HTC Memphis, or HTC Lancaster for sale by AT&T exclusively in the US for six months starting the third quarter, the paper indicated.
It certainly looks like there'll be a bit more than that to set the devices apart, and for the sake of variety, I hope there is. In any case, we'll be there. [Economic Daily News via Digitimes]

Looks like we won't be getting the Hero, or we have to wait until after the 6 months AT&T has it exclusively?
that phone is UGLY!! the mytouch 3g or what ever their calling it . looks way better
The version without the keyboard will probably be Hero, since the Lancaster is the one for AT&T.

how about this one?

Anyone noticed that at least the Lancaster version has only a 240x320 display?
If this is also true for the HTC Hero version, it would be a clear disadvantage.

Samsung Galaxy S III Previewed Behind Dummy Plastic Case (Video)

Less than two weeks, that's how much you have to wait until that special Samsung Unpacked event on May 3 in London when everything will be clear to everyone who is expecting the follow-up to the insanely successful Samsung Galaxy S II.
There's been Apple-like buzz (and Cupertino-like secrecy) around the Galaxy S III but it looks like we might have a first look at what to expect. The device pictured above and the one starring in the video below is claimed to be the Galaxy S III. However, it's not the Galaxy S III you'll hold in your hand as it is encased in a dummy plastic case in order to protect its sexy looks.
You want specs? Here you go: 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 4.6-inch Super AMOLED HD display with 320 PPI, no hardware buttons (yay), eight-megapixel main camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording, 16GB internal storage (plus microSD card expansion slot), NFC, microSIM, 2,050mAh battery and Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz on top of it.
That being said, the Galaxy S III (or whatever the final name will be) is not a mystery anymore -- granted that the above leak is legit -- except for its final aspect. Check out the video below and let us know of your thoughts. HTC One X killer? Android king for a year?
For what it's worth, the original story with the pictures and video are down which adds more credibility to the entire report. However, thanks to the Internet, there's a copy floating around and more pictures at the Via link.

Just gonna get this question out of the way...possible to upgrade hard drive?

So, I find myself running out of room for apps...blah blah blah. Can we buy the exact same hard drive used in the nexus 7 but a bigger capacity? then install it...then reinstall the entire OS? seems possible right? or not?
I have no idea I just figured I would ask
To start, the Nexus 7 does not have a hard drive. Just a surface mount SD chip, which is not replaceable.
actually it is technically replaceable but you would have to replace a good 80% of the device with it, so there is almost no point. you might as well buy a 16 Gb if you have an 8 Gb now, and sell the old one
Good question / good answer.
Workaround I use is case that can hold my tiny USB. My device is basically a 32 gig unit now.

Thanks for the answers guys...after doing a little digging, I realized that this isn't really a realistic procedure to do...I just figured I'll update you on what I found out.
The 8GB Nexus 7 uses the Kingston KE44B-26BN/8GB memory chip, while the 16GB Nexus 7 uses the Kingston KE4BT4B6A memory chip. Kingston make chips of the same 32nm types that come in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities. The dimensions of the 4GB-16GB chips are 12 x 16 x 1.2. While the 32GB chips are 14 x 18 x 1.4. So it appears that the 32GB chips would be much too big to fit anyway.
However, the 16GB chips only cost around $27...but no place has them in stock. I posted this on ifixit and will report back if they say anything.

That one in particular is small enough and works well, but I find the blinking LED while in operation quite annoying. I suppose there's nothing than can be done about it, or is there?
