Hello,
When I am downloading of the custom ROM's fro my ASUS I always get a different MD5 string then the one it should be,
I have tried with different machines and different internet connection,
The download is completed successfully each time , but checking the file with HashMyFiles shows a different MD5 string,
I'm downloading with IE , so I wonder if I need to use a download tool in order to get the MD5 file correct?
Thanks,

I constantly see developers prescribe long MD5 number,
And I do not understand, i can create the MD5 file from zip with the MD5 number ?
if yes, so how ?
Trying to verify a download with the associated .md5sum file. Tried various programs to verify the actual file download but can not get the associated .md5sum to agree. Used one app to open both files yet they do not match.
The file format in question is like the following: LS-KK-v3.0-2014-04-06-jflte.zip.md5sum
Help?

Use this http://www.winmd5.com/ on the original zip file, the results should match the CONTENTS of the .md5sum file.
The .md5sum file is just a string of text, which is the result of running an md5 checksum against a particular file.

Thanks for the response but how do I get the string of text out of that md5 checksum file to use to verify what was generated by winmd5 on the ROM file?

Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but:
I just changed over to Verizon and rooted recently using Kingo with Safestrap as my recovery. All seems to go well when doing a b/u, but I'm a bit confused regarding the md5 files included in the backup. I'm trying to verify the files I copy to my pc from the phone.
In example:
system.ext4.win000 (on phone) matches system.ext4.win000 on pc
system.ext4.win000.md5 (on phone) matches system.ext4.win000.md5 on pc
but,
system.ext4.win000 does not match system.ext4.win000.md5 on either pc or phone.
The above holds true with 3 different b/u's.
So are the files with the md5 extension solitary md5 sums for easier and faster comparison, or should the md5 files match the win.000 files?
The backups verify on the phone itself using AFV. Simply long pressing on a folder created by SS to contain the backup files returns verified as good. This is why I assume that AFV is comparing the .md5 files to the .win000 files, yet they do not match each other when I manually check with HashTabs.
I hope this isn't too convoluted. Thanks for any input.

I downloaded the UAE file & when I opened it it changed all my browser setting in IE & chrome & filled my PC full of SH IT.

It downloads an .exe file which contains malware. Please remember that firmware files do not come use '.exe' file format and the file size should also be a give away.

Ure trying to install MD5 files. That's just the hash value generated for file verification. Try using the TAR files
