Excuse the n00b question, but is there a way to have WP7, SD Android, and Clockworkmod Recovery at the same time? I'm wondering because I was trying to install a zip to fix my GPS on AmeriCanAndroid, and the post said to use CWM, however when I tried to enter CWM (via rom manager AND through AD Recovery on MAGLDR) it said "no boot sources". As a solution I just copied the files over to the proper directories in android from the zip, but is there a way to do have all 3? Thanks!
Nevermind...got my answer from the CWM thread
In case anyone else wonders, I just followed the procedure to do the old boot from SD card and it worked. Got all 3 now and am quite pleased! Here's my info:
TMOUS HD2
HardSPL 2.08
MAGLDR 1.13
Radio 2.15
WP7: Xbmod 1.11
Android: AmeriCanAndroid 06/09 build
CWM: 3.1.0.0

i have a really big issue, for some reason i am unable to install any rom through cwm, i follow the instruction in every rom i tried and failed. in CWM, when i pick "Choose zip from sdcard" and then the rom, the installation stays for like less than a second, i tried to download and install magldr 1.13, ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.5, and the Rom A LOT and still fail though, i tried googling the solution but failed to find one...by the way i am familiar with task 29, tried it twice and failed... for some reason i dont have an issue with installing Roms via DAF...any solutions????!!!!!!!!
Also, there isn't a CWM v3.0.0.5 for the hd2, the current version is 1.13

Maybe wrong CWM partition.
How do you copy the .zip to the SD card?

sry to write that wrong, yes i do have the latest CWM, i copy my zip using a card reader
So you put your phone off, get your SD card in your pc, Copy the .zip to the root of your sd. (Safe remove the SD card from pc)
Put SD back in phone, phone on, open CWM, select: Install zip from sd card, select the .zip.
and in the installation progress it just goes off? Can you try another ROM, see if that's the problem.
tried a few different roms and the same issue keeps happening...any solutions?
Start from scratch, Winmo 6.5, Task29, Magldr 1.13, CWM 1.13 and hope for the best.
i tried doing that now....again, and still fail..
dear GOD i cant believe using a sandisk adapter would be fixing the whole thing and that a card reader wouldnt work...though thanks alot for ur help man!!
Today I downloaded the Nexus HD2-Gingerbread V2.8 and moved it to my SD card, I then went in to MANGDLR and to AD Recovery>Install Zip From SD Card>Choose ZIP From SD then selected the zip file. Everything loaded fine but when I restarted it sat on the green "HTC" screen for over 30min so I decided to wipe everything by reinstalling stock WinMo 6.5 then started from scratch with re-installing MANGDLR and ClockWorkMod then tried again and got the same result. Any Ideas?

What radio did you use?
What size CWM partition did you use?

Yes, it's really important what CWM partition you use. You should post those info's when asking, which makes it easier to answer your question

a) Do task29
b) Install MAGLDR
c) Install correct CWM partition
d) properly format your sd card (sdformatter full>overwrite with size adjustment)
e) partition card with CWM (if needed)
f) copy rom zip over and flash.
Sorry
What I meant to say is I was upgrading from V2.7 to V2.8. I ended up re-flashing V2.7 then rebooting back into MANGDLR and then flashing V2.8 and it worked. Trial and error I guess. What do you guys think it could have been?

Okay so after researching this issue online and seeing that the common fix is reformatting the SD card and partitioning I recalled an article about Windows Phone 7 locking up SD cards so that they were unusable to any other device. They were taking advantage of what Secure Digital was designed for. People were trying to reformat cards using computers running Windows and Linux and other devices but nothing worked. Eventually someone remembered that Nokia still gives their devices full SD permissions and formatting the SD card with a Nokia device fixed the SD card and allowed it to be used in another device. I decided that if it could do that maybe my Nokia N8 could solve my SD issues too. So instead of going through the lengthy processes I was seeing online I popped the SD card into my N8 and formatted, it worked like a charm. So although Nokia has disappointed me time and time again they do some things right, thank you Nokia.

Hi,
It seems that you have done everything correctly.
Did you transfer the ROM to your card by cable or card reader?
Try putting the ROM on to your card by card reader, and re-installing the ROM.

Hi, thx for replying. I tried to transfer the zip file by the magldr mass storage but it keeps hanging. I had to flash to the stock rom to transfer the zip file. i re-installed 3 times and finally gave up.
After installing the MAGLDR 150MB System/5MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5), i used the boot android from sd and it could not locate the initrd and zimage. after putting those file into the card, i was able install it. But failed to load the kernel thingy.
Thanks

I would recommend searching the forum for a thread specifically for [25.JUN.11][MAG/cLK]TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.4.0[2.3.4][A2SD][tytung r10], seeing as this thread is specifically for [28.June.2011][MAG/cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.8 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][K: tytung_r10]. You might want to try the NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.8 ROM it is flawless . Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
Hey,
I recently tried to overwrite windows with gingerbread on my HD2, as I was doing it something went wrong, and basically it didn't install android and it wiped windows, my phone no longer has ANY operation system, what it does have however is MAGLDR 1.13, that's about it, oh I did manage to put HSPL 2.08 too, but that's it.
If you could please help me it would be much appreciated And step by step please, I'm not amazing at this.
Thank you
Go into Magldr and re-flash CWM with the correct partition size for the ROM you want to install, then put the ROM on your sd card and flash it from CWM. As long as you have HSPL and Magldr on your phone, you will be able to install an Android ROM on your phone. Go into the HD2 Android NAND section and there are sticky threads up at the top of the forum with instructions for how to do everything you need.
Use the toolkit in the nand section to add recovery and latest magldr. Then flash rom of your choice from recovery.
Hi,
a friend gave me an HD2 which stopped booting about three months ago, when he tried to install android on it, without really knowing what he was doing.
I have a bit of experience in installing custom roms in some android devices (HTC Vision, Samsung P1000...), but I know nothing about HD2 or any windows phones.
This is what it says after switching on:
tinypic.com/r/2hywdp4/5
This is after switching on with windows key pressed:
tinypic.com/r/29y43fb/5
This is after switching on with volume key pressed:

[sorry I can't create links because I'm new to xda]
Is there a way to go back to a working status?
If I fix it, I'll earn some glory and a free beer.
The final aim would be to install a NAND android rom, preferably CM7 or similar.
Thanks a lot.
Correct me if i'm wrong guys, but this pic :
tinypic.com/r/25i3f9c/5
is the bootloader mod and it says that you have HSPL 2.08
In my opinion, you just have to flash back a windows 6.5 ROM and follow the whole process to get android (Flash MAGLDR, [....] , and flash a CM7 NANDROID Rom using the clockworkmod) refering to the tutorials in the NANDROID section.
Its not bricked. Just restart the process to install Android as jediL pointed out and you should be good to go. Check here for a detailed explanation on how.
Ok the pictures help a lot. From what I see the first picture is what you see when you boot a HD2 that has clk installed for the custom bootloader but does not have as Android ROM in memory to boot. This is the only reason you well ever see clk at all if you just power on a HD2 with clk installed.
The second pictures is clk trying to boot into recovery but is not able to. It probably either has some kind of problem booting the flashed version or it just does not have a custom recovery flashed to it. My bet is it does not have a custom recovery flashed to it. As most people have problems Glasgow.g a recovery after flashing clk if they are not using the HD2 NAND Toolkit.
The third picture is the the stock bootloader of the HD2 and yes it shows you have HSPL 2.08 installed so you are good with HSPL and do not need to flash HSPL 2.08 to your HD2.
Now to get you on to getting Android up and running. Seeing as you already have clk on your HD2 you do not need to flash it. You do need to flash a custom recovery and you can either check out the guide linked in my sig to flash it via fasboot comands manually or you can use the HD2 NAND Toolkit to flash it in a more automatic way, or to be more specific a more noob friendly way. There is a link to the toolkit in the guide linked in my sig.
You need to pick out what Android ROM you want to use and read the first few post by the ROM chef to see what partition size you need to have and use the Toolkit to repartition the NAND memory to that size. Next download the .zip file for the ROM, make sure you get the version that is for clk. Some ROMs have only one version though that works with MAGLDR and clk. Next copy the .zip to the root of your SD card and then power on your HD2 holding down the home button and your recovery will boot up. Then just find the option that says install from SD card and then select the ROM file and flash it.
I installed HD2 NAND Toolkit.
I executed the following operations:
- Wipe (Task29)
- cLK repartition (150mb)
- cLK install recovery
then I rebooted into CWM recovery and installed the HyperDroid rom.
Now I have a fully working CM7-based android phone!
Thanks a lot!
Hey,
I love my HD2, but the windows not so much.. I'm trying to put Android on it but I am too confused in how to do it.
I have looked into it for a few hours, but I have absolutely 0 knowledge about phones ): and I don't understand it.
Whenever I look in a thread for a guide, I get linked to another thread for another guide, another, and another. This goes from the rom, to a magldr, clk and hdsp and all those things.
Can anybody just tell me in what order to do these? I'll look up guides and such myself, but I have no idea which guide to follow first...
Thanks alot, Kevin.
Okay, here how it goes:
HSPL 2.08 & 2.15 Radio
Magldr
Recovery (such as CWM or TWRP)
Your ROM.
cLK
Recovery (such as CWM or TWRP)
Your ROM.
Radio 2.15 is not necessary, but you need a radio that supports MAGLDR. But 2.15 and 2.12 are the most popular.
So you should first install HSPL 2.08, after that install a radio. Then, choose a bootloader (either cLK or MAGLDR). Then flash a recovery (I recommend CWM 5.0.2.6 if you are willing to install to NAND.). Finally you flash the rom from within the recovery.
You can look for the differences between cLK and MAGLDR, but generally, the differences are:
MAGLDR:
*You can't charge the device while off.
*Supports RMNET Data connection (stable)
*Supports Windows Phone.
cLK:
*Supports charge while off.
*Supports recovery repartitioning without a PC.
*Uses PPP data connection. (Said to be fast, but it's unstable)
download - magldr, nand toolkit, hspl4, radio 2.15.50
into bootloader (stripey screen)
use hspl4 to set 2.08.hspl
into bootloader
flash magldr
into magldr - usb flasher
run nand toolkit - may need to hit the button marked drivers if you have trouble connection, , or install the PC app 'myphoneexplorer' (no need to run it) which also sets the correct drivers.
in the nand toolkit select the desired partition size (the rom you want to flash will tell you what size)
click magldr repartition
--- cwm is now installed
reboot - magldr - 8 ad recovery
cwm will now start
choose advanced - format sd - choose an ext size (512 or 1024 should be fine to get started, 2048 if you have a large card) - (This WILL delete the whole sdcard so backup anything you wanna save)
using an sd card reader, or cwm - mounts and storage - mount sd card to copy the rom.zip you wanna flash to the sd card
restart - magldr - 8 adrecovery - cwm - flash zip from sd card - choose zip from sd card - navigate to the rom.zip file and off you go.
reboot
done.
it should take less time than it took me to write that out, once you get the hang of it.
Thanks a bunch to both of you, really helpful
Oh nevermind, just took a while to boot
