I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out an issue one of my family members is having with their epic. She does have vibrate turned on for her messaging, so that it vibrates when a text comes in. However, it is so soft that you can barely feel it. I know that on mine it is very strong. I can not find any place to strengthen it other than in the spot where you adjust it for the haptic feedback. We do have it maxed in that spot. Help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
The strength of the vibrate also depends on the OS
I believe the one with the strongest haptic feedback is eclair
Samsung reduced it for the others
I suggest you bring that other epic to whatever rom your using

Both are running stock froyo, neither have ever been rooted or modded in any way. No reason I can tell that should cause the 2 different vibrate types.
Go to sprint store and say that your epic vibrator is broken

Just curious how many of you use this feature.
Waste of battery IMO..
yes for keyboard and home key.
i used to hate this feature on those cheapo samsung phones of yesterday but i started using it because it felt better to type with...at least
It annoys me.
I use and love it. Lets me know I hit all my letters when typing.

I always had a fear of all that buzzing having a negative effect on the motor eventually causing it to break ,
so i just dont use it
Nope. I turned it off to save battery.

Definitely a waste of battery, the sound feedback is enough
My friend has haptic feedback enabled on his Moto Droid. Annoying as hell for ME as you can hear him type and push keys. Haha.
I love it. It simulates a kind of tactile feedback that is otherwise missing.

This is getting annoying how can it be fixed, can it be fixed?

I notice it, too, with Super Clean v4 and the matching kernel. When in a call, the screen turns off within 2 seconds, no matter how I get it to come back on (pull awya from ear or press power button). Makes it near impossible to use automaed call systems.
It sucks why do we have the screen sensors if they dont work during calls its not supposed to time out unless something triggers it

I do not have such problems. My screen stays on unless I get close to the sensor. Once I move away the screen comes back. What are you running? Kernel / rom
Stock dl09

When I get out of work I'll check my wife's stock dl09 to see if the issue is present cuz my rooted voodoo dj05 is sensor dependent
Yeah I'm having the same problem, I am using Super Clean DJ05. I have to unlock the screen every time I take it off from my ear, no matter how long it's been.
I only had that problem on my stock rom after I disabled a needed service.
I think it was one of the voicemail services. Can't remember which one off hand.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I had that probably till I cleaned my screen
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
My wife doesn't have that problem but my sister does. Both stock dl09. Odd I can't figure out why.
Had the same issue with the kernel in the RubikS 1.7 OP. Switched to the 1/23 JT V5 and it went away.
On the some of the other phones I've owned you were able to modify the way the phone vibrated when in silent mode. There were options that could set it to pulse and change the duration and increase the vibration strength.
I was curious if this was something one of the developers could possibly bake in to a future rom or if anyone knew any apps that did it.
There are apps thatll do that

Really? You got my interest. You care to name one that'll do any of what the op said? I am personally interested in increasing the vibrate strength to something a bit more less pansy like.
Hell, my pager from the late 80's had more a vibrate than this thing does. I can set the phone on top of my hand whilst I am on my laptop and if it weren't for handcent lighting up the screen i'd have never known I got a text message while on silent/vibrate. It's weaker than a ladybug fart.
Smart vibrator for one ,its free im sure there are others havent really looked

You can customize how long short or strong it vibrates for both calls and other notifications

How about a program that causes the Epic to vibrate stronger than its default maximum? I think that's what op was asking. I have the same question since my intensity decreased after the update. Can we mess with the "settings"?
I just noticed that I'm not getting any haptic feedback on my Nexus 4, whether on the keyboard or the navigation buttons. I've had the phone for just under a month and have really loved the haptic feedback, but tonight I'm not getting anything. In fact, I'm not getting any vibration from the phone at all, including when I power it on and off. I haven't changed any of the settings and "vibrate to touch" is on.
Is the motor toast or am I just missing something?
Google is just going to send me a replacement. I'm a happy camper.

If you're getting a replacement then there is no need to answer you but I feel like it lol. Your motor is dead. That happened to me on my old Hercules.

I'm just glad it happened so early after my purchase. It would have been much more difficult to deal with afterwards.

Is anyone having issues with the LG G2 touch screen.
The things I'm noticing is
guesture typing it loses it's trail and begins a new word. So if I'm trying to spell "Think," it'll get the "TH" then space it out and get some other string of letters etc.
Web Browsing; it'll click a link I'm not trying to
Zooming in on photos and scrolling while it's zoomed it'll sparatically zoom out or move to the next pic
There's several other things that I can't seem to get to replicate! Anyway with my research here's what I came up with.
My issue is much like this but far less easy to replicate!!! And not nearly as bad. How ever I was able to do it when my phone started having symptoms I pulled up the note pad and it did exactly like this just way less significant.

Here's another forum with people going through issues!
I'll take that as a no
I was having issues like that with gesture typing on both swift and stock keyboards. Basically it would just add all kinds of random entries. In another thread someone suggested using a microfiber cloth on the screen. It seems to be working now.

Mine does that too! Everything I browse, the pages unexpectedly jumps around up and down. Also when drawing the lines take a different direction lol

Just noticed that mine does the same thing... But it's not consistent, only happens once in a while. After I reboot it's fine. Really weird.
I posted earlier, looks like it didn't make it up. I had same issue, I tried flashing back to stock, assuming I had done something with rooting it, tried making sure that it was not an issue with ram bring to low, nothing fixed it. Took phone back to att, replaced it, havent had the issue once since then. I'm rooted, flashed and modded work no I'll effects. If you are within your return period, I would suggest that you return.
CleanRom
I got t-mobile version and doesn't do that

Cool I'm glad there's some good ones out there. As soon as my replacement Zagg Symphony Dry comes in I will switch out phones.

Well I have seen some quality control issues with these phones for sure... I'm still on stock and not rooted and mine does this. Going to have to go by the Verizon store Monday and get a new one.

I made a video to help illustrate what's going on!
Well I got a replacement phone and the problem is still happening. So I went into the shed grabbed my old Cyanogenmod MyTouch 3G and I plan to use that until the Nexus 5 comes out. Hopefully I'll get a launch unit.
Just holding this little phone makes me feel all nostalgic lol. I bought it in 2009 and it still holds a decent charge.

Are you just going to wait until the nexus 5 comes out and then take your g2 back, tell them that this is the second one that has done this, and demand they replace it with the "newer g2" ie Nexus 5? I thought about this!
I'm hoping this is a software issue..mine is really annoying
