hello everyone!
after upgrading to bigstorage my jam discharges when plugged to the charger instead of charging!!!
it charges normally through sync cable.
any ideas???
thanks!
Upgrading to BigStorage has nothing to do with your battery problem as myself and so many other users have done so without having such experience. You have also proven that by saying that it charges properly with the sync cable. For sure there is a short circuit in your charger causing it to discharge the battery. Check for dirt inside the usb connector of your charger.
Well, I've BigStorage too, but I haven't got the same problem. Maybe you should check what zerimar said, and if the problem stands still, you should buy a new charge cable.
One question:
Before the BigStorage, the charger worked correctly?
thanks for answeeing!
yes, before upgrading everything worked normally.
when i plug the charger the orange light lihgts up as it should and the in the power screen it says 'çharging' , but it doesn't charge!
i've cleaned the cables, the battery and the sim card but still the same.
everything else works perfectly well.
Well, I guess the only thing that hopefully will help is to do a hard reset.
hey...i got the same problem. i even tried hardreset and the problem still there. there is nothing wrong with my charger since my charger works well with other magician.
i think the main problem is the magician unit itselves. i just dont have time to return it to the store since my life depends on it . well at least it still charges with sync cable.
ok now i'm mixed up.
i did a hard reset, downgrated to the previous original rom, but the problem is there.
it isn't the charger because when the backup battery reduses to 50% with charger it gets back to 100%
so my charger discharges my battery but charges the back up battery.
i did a lot of search, a few other people had similar problems but no solutions
found!
Try to fully discharge the battery in a natural way by leaving your unit on then charge again. Do not use your charger to discharge the battery. If my memory serves me right I think that's what some posters adviced.
I still believe that there is something wrong with your AC charger. If you have the possibility of borrowing a charger, or go to a shop who sells Magicians and ask if you could quickly make a test.
thanks a lot!
i'll try now and let you know!
discharging the battery did not work.
now i'll try the new ac adapter.
if it does not work then i'll just curry my laptop with me!!!
thanks for your help!
new ac adapter and everything works fine!\
thanks everyone!
Glad to be (and others) of help. Nice to know that everything is working fine and that you're happy.
Can someone help me figure out how to recharge my battery??? The other day my phone was working just fine... until it ran out of battery while i was at school. i kept trying to turn it back on and kept doing so until it was completely dead. Now the damn thing doesnt want to charge at all... i think i must have exhausted the battery completely that it cant keep a charge. It wont even turn on and wont even charge wen i plug it into the computer usb or through a wall charger. Can someone please help.
Are you using the original charger? has to have 1amp output to kickstart device. You have to leave it quite a while connected before the light comes on - up to 24hrs. If that fails use the boost battery trick - see thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=58747
hmph....
all i have to say is damn t mobile... they cant expect people to never let their battery fully drain. its almost automatic for it to happen once in a while for people. why would they release batteries that cannot charge if its fully drained and expect people to search on the internet to find answers to solves these problems themselves... oh well thanks for the help guys. ill let the thing charge for a day or so n post my results... ps i dont have the original charger. im not at home right now n ill have to check if the charger i have is 1 amp or not.
YES!
the charger thing didnt work... but using the trick where splitting the usb and charging the battery manually worked! thanks for the help! much is appreciated!

The retention charge of the battery shudn't go below 20%,it seems that the battery has fully diffused of charge,it won't charge with usb cable and pc,cuz its charge output is only 0.5 amp. It'll only charge with the wall charger with an output charge of 1.00 amp.Get it charged with a 'Wall Charger',hope it'll work out, otherwise, you might have to try the "Jump Start" trick.Take a usb to mini usb cable and cut the mini end off. Strip the black and red wires, plug it into your laptop or desktop usb port and touch the black to the negative terminal of your battery and the red to the positive. Hold them in place for about 20-30 seconds, place the battery back in the phone and it should boot and then charge normally. Somewhere on this site you will find this information and a couple of posts from people who used basically the same technique with a nine volt battery, where,a wall charger is cut off in the same way and "Jump Start".
Good luck !
My friend, you are simple the best. You are my hero. I lost one USB cable, but my phone come back. Your "Jump Start" trick worked perfecty. Really thanks about your tip. I don´t have words to glad you.

Its much easier and trouble free to flash with WinXP and its recommended highly,as winVista still has some compatibility problems. So I advise you to flash with winXp OS.
But some people have successfully flashed through winVista, you need to download some drivers.check out this link, there are complete instructions for flashing with winVista :-

Thanks one more time and sorry to annoying you...
I LOVE YOU !!!
Thanks more than a lot
Jump start trick worked fine for me too !! I cut the wire off from old usb mouse and use it as informed.
I just cant understand how it could be so that if you let the battery power too low or empty the wall charger (5v/1A) will not begin to charge it again ???
But my battery is alive again and I m happy, thank you !

It's just a design flaw. Sometimes things get by engineers. They're too busy trying to create an interesting user experience, and they forget to cross t's and dot i's.
This worked for me as well!!!
Thank you so much, dude... helped me resurrect my Wizard who'se been dead for like 3 months now!!!

Have a nice day !
my qtek 9100 freezes at startup after jump starting.
I jump started my Qtek 9100 and it started up as normal but it freezes at the windows mobile loading screen and doesnt go any further. Does this mean its charging or is the battery completely dead or something?
Wow, it like totally worked but Then I let it charge but battery stays at 0%
Thanks for this thread.
My word am I happy ...
Worked like a charm...
You are my hero! mi Qtek is alive again, i bought a cheap wall charger for a V3 Motorola and it can charge my Qtek after a battery drain off, i tray a lot of things but the usb wire cut off solve my problem and im happy again, thanks a lot and greetings from mexico! Saludos!!
Thanks man it was worked for me,
I was trying to put windows mobile 6 but after that mu camera and voice call buttons doesn't work
If you know more about win mobile 6 on wizard pls help me
Thanks
please do not use stripped USB cable or 9V battery to resurrect wizard. the battery is rated 3.6-3.7V (?? cant remember)... use 3x AA(A) batteries or other 3-4V power supply. I've done this with old pc PSU which has 3.3V output.
Just put battery in, connect charger, connect + - cables while inside wizard - bootup - when windows is loaded device can charge itself - disconnect resurrection power supply.
do not try to charge li-ion battery with whatever currents/voltages... or at least wear some kind of fire protection
Hi guys I have been facing a strange issue whenever I install any windows phone 7 rom no matter what i do the phone refuses to charge using a usb cable or charger if i go back to android same usb and charger work fine for charging please advise
i noticed that too. on my pc it charges either VERY slow or not at all. because i left my hd2 on usb for 2 hours. it was only halfway full. i though i was going crazy good thing im not the only one who noticed this.
on the wall adapter it charges fine.
For me the above mentioned issue exists on all the roms
I think i found a workaround for people having issues while usb charging on wp7
This a bit of a hassle and has to be done everytime u see that the phone is not charging via usb
uninstall the driver for windows phone device from device manager and then connect the phone it will reinstall the driver and the led will turn red if it blinks that means its not charging
If anyone has this issue and needs detailed steps please let me know

I have never heard nor experienced the phone not charging on WP7 on USB. The HD2 takes longer than 2 hours for a full charge if it's at a point of total discharge or close to it. Even on WM 6.5 the HD2 usually takes about 3-4 hrs to fully charge after near total discharge.
Secondly, a blinking LED during charge (whether PC or wall) means your battery and phone are overheated. Overheating happens if you are using the phone while plugged in. Even if blinking it is still charging. Best to unplug until cool..then keep charging and not use the phone.
Buy a second battery and external charger.

Wow thanks a ton for the info
but i have a question if i connect the phone to usb the battery blinks and while connected the battery tool shows battery getting drained as well at the top the battery icon shows that the phone is charging. and then if I immeadeatly connect it to the wall charger the blinking goes away and battery tool shows charging active so what can be the issue any help would be appreciated
Also i have tried almost all windows phone 7 roms and my normal drain is -300 to -500 have tried rom with 5.51 and 5.12.50_02 radio as well along with the camera trick still the battery drain is high
Yesterday i installed wm6.5
task 29
install magldr
clear sd mbr
use last 24 nand
install wp7
booted and did camera trick
entered flight mode
still the drain is -150
I love WP7 and dont wish to go back to android sorry for the long post please help
WP on our Leo doesn't have a clue what its doing with the battery, its been an issue from the start.
best bet to get the most out of your device is to get yourself an external charger and spare battery.
even if you do get it charging via USB or the wall adaptor, it might not charge up the device, it might say its full but is only half full, or it might say it half full and its actually full.
UP! Your advice to bring with me to anywhere a package of batteries?? Jesus Christ, I can't believe that nobody cares much about this problem from devs, otherwise there is no point to make a new rom every single day.

I really don't think its a "nobody cares" situation. We can be pretty confident that if a solution was at all possible it would have been found and implemented by now. The devs do a great job and i for one am blown away by the roms they produce and offer to to us free.
Every smart phone on the market has battery life issues which tells us even the manufacturers cant really get a grip on the issue either.
You could always hack a li poly bat to fit the HD2, of course that's only if you accept the risk it might swell up and catch fire while charging
i dont think kicking the devs and other forum members will make you many freinds.
Good luck

its not about not caring, there are two issues at hand.
the first one is the phone wont charge when turned off, this might be fixable.
the big one is the battery controller, a battery in a phone has a small IC that controls the charge, temps, stats etc. The issue I believe is that the driver which WP users to control the battery controller isn't designed for our device.
The HD2 is similar to the HD7 but it is not the same. The issues we have with it are likely because the driver is either for another device or a basic test driver put together to "make do"
creating a driver isn't a matter of slapping a few files together. So your choices are to
A, give up on the HD2 WP7
B, Make do with what you have
C, Grab a spare battery and external charger
D, Fix the issue yourself, given that some of the most talented folk on here hasn't done this yet suggests this wont be easy!
Flashed 2.12 radio, can't say it's good now, but much better than was with 2.15. I think 2.12 + new battery with bigger capacity (2300) = pretty good solution for now.

except your 2300mAh battery probably wont work at all.
Theres been reported issues with extended batteries either A not working or B having issues, such as only charging part of it.

If your phone shows only a half charged battery icon after charging for the full few hours, shutdown the phone and reboot. Doing this shows the correct icon and can confirm via battery status app or battery tool app.
The thing is when you flash a new ROM, it takes the battery, phone, and WP a couple of charge/discharge cycles to get sync'd up and show the proper charges. The key is to let the battery drain until close to total discharge (don't let the phone shut off because of battery or you'll be hosed) then charge a couple of cycles.
Getting a spare battery and external charger is always a good suggestion no matter what.
Yes, restarts are always handy to get full charge, if you do kill your battery so you can't boot to windows, try put phone in bootloader, or magldr, it will charge in there, give it 20 min and windows will boot just fine

Hey i was looking for someone who could help me with this strange issue. I owm Galaxy S5 G900F. Currently running stock lollipop rom (back from custom rom to stock to see if it helped my issue).
Everything was perfect on daily base and one night i plugged in my charger and nothing. So i first i thought battery is gone so i bought new one. Then i was checking port if its not dirty, no it was perfectly clean. I tried dozens different chargers, cables, pcs. Nothing. Even PCs don't recognize the phone. Battery percentage is not showing correctly (When i got new battery i fully charged in on universal external charger first, inserted battery and performed battery calibration from an app to wipe battery bin stats) and it's not showing correct discharge progress either staying for hours on 66% even tho i played hours of youtube videos.
Even tho i cannot charge the phone or sync it with any PC here is something extremely strange, ODIN recognize phone and i can flash stock rom via ODIN without a single issue!
Any advise are strongly appreciated.
Thank you for your help!
Ok guys, i dropped the phone to repair shop as i did not want to open my s5 without proper heat gun. The guy said it was the charging port. He said it was very unussual problem, because when the charging ports breaks usually nothing works then (regarding the charging and syncing) odin was not suppose to work either. Anyway it was the charging port. All good now.
