X10 battery life

Hey guys I am a fluent user of Tue Xperia and the only bad thing about it is the battery life. I take it off the charger at 5 am and go to school then u get back at about 9 pm and its on 18 percent. How can I make my battery last for two or more days?

wow okay i was having SERIOUS battery issues before but finally did a full reinstall of the OS via Update SEUS service, rooted and then did a full reinstall of this ROM without doing a restore and can you say what A DIFFERENCE? 4 hours my battery is at 98 %? wow i almost cant believe it....

Nice but can u ask you are you using it. Like playing games, YouTube, or anything like this or are you just letting it sit there?

games eat battery pretty fast
even with a custom rom that has great battery efficiency i dont think that u can beat that.. if ur gaming for a few hours and youtubeing, calling, etc then the best youu can do is make sure that ur screens brightness isnt too high, and every time u exit an app/game make sure that the program stops ( u could use a task killer but i jus pop a shortcut to manage applicattions on my homescreen and force stop it myself)
with reaallyyy heavy use if u make it to the end of the day ur lucky.. just charge it every night

Lol yeah. I play a lot of 3d games and YouTube whenever I can and I'm always texting so Lol. I guess that's good

ya i was using it a bit today
some google maps when i was out earlier, light surfing, lots of sms, twitter, downloaded a couple apps

O ok. Cuz I'm a heavy user but I suppose if it lasts that long while playing games like gangstar,al avatar, and modern combat it's not so bad lol. But I will definitely give your suggestion a go. I mean what can go wrong

I hate the look of the new market. It is using the game UI design as WP7 and I HATE how WP7 constantly hides things off screen and you have to just swipe madly to 'discover' if things are there or not.

I don't think the update will be mandatory. Guess you can stick to the same old version, if you hate the WP7 look-a-like

I'm digging the new style, much easier to find things

It seems to be slower than the old market and consumes a lot of power (12% of my battery usage in 20min)

Ahh, you beat me to it. But, yes the App Market has a nice new graphical overhaul. I'm actually a fan of the WP7 UI, it's quite unique and fits my taste. Alas, I did not buy a WP7 b/c non of them sported dual-core processors. But that new WP7 SGS II is begging me to buy it, but I'll wait for quadcores and hexacores to come out, I'm fine with my SGS II.

There is also something strange about the market... I am seeing games like Modern Combat 2, BackStab, and Nova 2 on the Market. Last time I checked, Gameloft didn't release their games on the Market and my device can't play those games.

Downloaded Market from http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/07/12/download-the-new-android-market-v3-0-26-with-support-for-movies-and-books/ I am not sure when it will go live in my country so Downloaded from there..I love it but Kinda fell Lag.I think it is new so might take few days/weeks to fix it over it is SO COOL on SGS2 but I have a Problem I can't see Movies Option I think Movies option is not Available in my country yet

I hope they have intended some issues of old market in this new one. For example, there is no differentiation between Honeycomp & cellphone Androids during search. Also, they most drop the compatibility recommendation that makes some unable to download some apps. eg. I have a SGSII & ROM Manager is incompatible while all of you are running it!!!!.

They seem to say 'Start Free Game', whatever that means..

Yeah, start free game is what I'm given too... do we have to wait until October 1st?
If it's only 60 minutes don't want to just waste it. Seems a bit overblown if that's all it is Can someone confirm it's FREE free?
I'm in Canada so wonder if that's part of the problem, maybe this is US only for free?

Using the default android browser worked
Downloaded NFS Shift, account says unlocked, but my Xperia Play controls do not work. ---- odd... it works now that I have restarted.

I just got them. Either my launcher wasn't updated when I was unrooted (NZ FW), or it's cause I'm on UK firmware now. :3

Im a bit miffed that I paid full price for all these and not that long ago either. Sucks really! I guess ive supported ea too much!! once bitten....

Has any one tried Shift?
Seems to be the normal version without the Xperia Play controls?

Got all games, all free, all xperia optimized, you need to refresh your launcher if you don't see them for free

Yes i did and it works ok controls a lil choppy but they said you could use a ps3 controller but i have it for ps3 so a lil more of a challenge but still good

Yea been playing it, can get a little laggy on the shift but no where near as bad as the OG EVO (heh)
PS3 controller will be a nice addition, just gotta be on CM7

It installed fine and ran good for me. Gets laggy somtimes though.
Edit: I was messing around and discovered the cheats on the same for PC. Like GUNSGUNSGUNS for all... Guns work. Lol and im gonna mess around with the img file today to see if i can add car mods and etc. Like PC.

Got it running on mine, took quite a while to get all the extra files downloaded but it runs. Albeit a bit laggy at certain spots.

Well this sucks. I was going to purchase this today and now it's not even showing up in my market. When I go to it online it keeps saying that my device is not compatible with this app.

Same for me, just clear market Data and cache in the manage applications menu and reload the market. Then search for GTA 3 and it should be like the 2nd or 3rd app in the market search,
Although I can say it doesn't run smooth enough for me on the shift to play it. Works great on A100 tho

Your right...they finally filtered it out. It really wasn't that playable honestly. couldn't play it for more than 10 minutes before i had to quit because of lag

Once I clocked it up to 1.6ghz I played with it for another 30 minutes , and I can say it played better at that point (was playing at 1.4 before). Although there still were noticeable framerate drops alot of the time, but it was alot better than getting 10 frames a second 70% of the time.
At 1.4 there were times that the sound would keep cutting in and out, and I probably got 1-2 fps. Most of the time it was when I hit other cars or started speeding as fast as I could. (thats what GTA is about tho right? xD)
Keep in mind too I was on Sense so that may make the experience different from AOSP users.

So, I bought the game when they first launched but never downloaded it, when I tried to download it my device wasnt supported anymore lol so I had to google it up and found version 1.1 apk and I had the issues like the ones described in this post already.
Luckly enough a couple days ago the apk got updated to 1.2 and all I can say is that is very playable if you are in my situation you just need to download the apk (google it) I had installed the SD files already ( the ones for adreno gpu) because I actually bought it.
But if you want to try it you can get the sd files too from the black internet market :0
Im running Supreme sense, dodge kernet at 1.6 on demand, I bet the version 1.2 runs way better on a AOSP room plus you can use an external controller, but still I'm already progresing thru the game almost to the second part of it.

Yeah, I have it on the A100 too, its runs like a beast, I can't say for my shift though, since I'm waiting on a replacement. On my A100 though, the buttons don't quite scale right, making movement a little wierd other than that, fine though. Someone on AOSP (a mostly clean, not bloated AOSP) should try it and see how it plays.

Find a good rom,like gs v2.3,flash it,then dont reboot.in recovery find the reboot in recovery option.select it,then go and full wipe again,except system this time(no.sd card ofc).flash perfectpeso v1.7 kernel and then start ur phone.you ll be amazed how smooth games will be even on 480-600 mhz.hope you ll try,good luck
