I'm using Handcent and somewhat frequently I'll lose signal (because of where I live) and my phone won't send the SMS. I have to keep pushing the button to try to send it again. Is there an app (or feature I'm missing on Handcent) that will keep trying to send the message automatically until it sends?

i'll send a text to someone, then for some reason. they will get the same text like 4 times. why is my phone keep sending the text? even a few hours or days?
thanks
hey bigpat, the issue is with the Cody SMS threaded messaging. Just upgrade your ROM and use the new built-in threaded messaging with WM6.1
I use the built-in text message program in WM6.1 and I get the same issue. Once in a while, I will get the "Message was not sent. Try again?" message. Of course I click it because I want the message to eventually go through, but the receiver will end up getting multiple messages.
The towers also much acknowledge a message is being sent or receive and then respond back with an acknoledgement. Until this is all complete and if you keep clicking resend. It may resend everything over and over.
My phones having the issue with receiving them. The phone receives a message sends back the ok, but never receives it back to the phone. This then causes the original message to continue to be pushed until it gets a response to allow the newer messages to come. Very frustrating.
Dear Friends,
I'm using a HTC Gene. I have a problem when i send multiple sms.
My service provider is Airtel - India.
The problem is that when i send multiple messages, after two or three sms
has been sent, the phone radio reboots itself. During this time, the messages
in the outbox, get failed to send and goes to the drafts folder. After the
phone radio is back up, i have to transfer the items in the drafts folder to the
outbox folder.
Whenever an sms is sent, i get a flash message(or service message) which
pops up from the taskbar that shows the last call cost and my remaining
credit.
According to my experiment i'm sure that this flash message is the one that
makes the problem, coz everytime one sms is sent, a flash sms is received
which uses the sms module. At the same time, the sms module is used to
send the next sms, so making a conflict and thus the phone restarts.
So the tweak that needs to be done is to increase the delay between
sending subsequent messages.
Could anyone please guide me where this delay can be extended.?
Thank You...
Hello,
What is your version of Windows Mobile? this program tweak sms, work's only by WM 6.1.
(Help) Every time I open up the SMS app it sends a text message to my friend saying "
Ok, so basically several days ago I sent my friend one SMS saying "Hello". At the time it didn't send, because I was away from home and barely got 1x reception. Anyways, not every time I open the SMS application it sends (without telling me) an SMS to my friend saying "Hello". I've soft reset my phone and deleted the SMS conversation with my friend, but it's still sending. He has also rebooted his phone. Sometimes, I get a notification saying Nessage failed would you like to retry, and the message is that apparently failed is "hello".
If it's any help, I also uninstalled SMS-Chat recently.
edit: strangely enough, when I disable threaded messaging it resolves the problem. However, I would very much like to keep threaded messenging enabled. I wouldn't mind using another threaded app, but when I do, it's not integrated with the HTC home text message button.
Thank you - Dave
When I have no service coverage I would like to type sms messages and as soon as I get it make phone send them all out. But unfortunately, when I don't have service HTC touch pro 2 keeps trying to send sms out and after a couple of attempts gives me message that it was not able to send it. I have to click on each message and resend it when I have service. Instead, I want my phone to put all sms into outbox sms folder and send them all when I actually have service.
I know other phones perform this function well. I went thru all settings but couldn't get it to put sms into outbox when no service available.
Does anyone have fix for that? Or same problem?
Good day everyone! i have a issue regarding receiving SMSmassages on my unit...The factory default SMS application had limited sending capabilities (when after reaching 80kb, message becomes MMS), so i downloaded Handcent SMS messenger. Its works fine,m but the problem is I receive 2x messages from the original SMS messenger and the new downloaded Handcent application, so I have to read twice the same message everytime someone sends me SMS. My question is, how can i make Hancent my default SMS messanger? Or, how can I make it that I receive 1 message feom Hancent application only? I know someone out there with great knowledge of these problem is out there, hpe you can help me! thanx!
Handcent tells you waht to do for notifications, read it and follow the directions not that hard. Go into factory SMS, settings, notifications UN CHECK It, not that hard. READ.
