Default email signature file gets overwritten - EVO 4G General

I'm trying out MikG's ROM and was tweaking the cusSignature.xml file in shared_prefs folder found in /data/data/com.htc.android.mail
Whenever I save the xml file (using Root Explorer edit as text) without the "Sent from my..." signature, it seems the file gets overwritten with the default signature again when I run new mail account setup.
Is there any way I can tweak it to stay without the signature?
Thanks

Setting/Opening protected *.csv files using VB.NET

Is there any source code where I can set password on *.csv files using VB.NET (not encrypting it)
And when i'm opening the file, how do I create a textbox for it to let me key in the password?
Files in csv format are plain text files. There is no way of proctecting the contents without encryption.
Your program can pretend the file is protected by asking username and password but this is of course not a real protection for the contents of the csv file.

Overwriting system files

on my qtek9100 there are a couple of sounds that i would like te change, ie. the click sound when opening start in the Today screen. These sounds however are sytemfiles. I tried changing the names, deleting, moving. Everything. But it's not possible for me to change the sounds. Does anyone have a good tip on how it is possible to change /delete/ update the systemfiles of the Qtek9100?

Any files in the rom cannot be deleted but they can be overwritten (the file is still there in the rom under the file you just placed on it). It cannot be done with the stock file explorer, use gsfinder (my personal fav) http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1203 or total commander 2
I tried it with TC and tested it by trying to delete a file called Aloutte.mid in the windows dir.
This is a file that's anoying me from the go since it's a music file that I would like removed from my phone. But even TC responded with a message that 1 file could not be removed. As it's a system file. If I want to change the clicksound from start, are you saying I should rename the files first and then copy the desired sound (using the name that the original soundfile uses) to the windows directory? Is that the way to overwrite the systemsounds?

Yes that is the correct way. The only way to silence aloutte.mid is to overwrite it with a silent mid file.

New Shadow signature bug Help

On the new Shadow, there's a system file in the Windows/Startup folder called SignatureReplace.lnk, that links to an app in the Windows Folder of the same name. Apparently TMo screwed up with this file, and it deletes the Outlook signature after every restart. It's a protected system file so I can't replace it. anyone have any idea how to delete this file? It's driving me crazy that I need to re-input the sig after every restart.

saving attachment

i use the native email client and i got an .mov file as attachment and it lets me save it but where is it saved? i can't find it anywhere.
i downloaded a file manager and was able to find it. any way to designate a default folder?
I think it automatically puts in designated folder.
Use Astro or X-plore. The best ones I think.
Email attachments are saved in the root directory of you SD card. However you cannot change the default destination folder...

[GUIDE] How to change Moto G WiFi Mac Address

There are a number of reasons one may want to change their WiFi mac address that are not worth discussing here. The point of this guide is only to provide instructions for making the change on a KitKat 4.4 2nd Gen Moto G. It might work for Lollipop but I've not tested it.
This requires root access.
Go to the WiFi settings panel and open the menu at the bottom right corner.
Click 'Advanced' and write down the MAC address shown (second to last entry)
Use your root enabled file explorer (ES File Explorer is one example) to navigate to /persist and copy the file called 'WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin'
Paste the file in a place where you can edit it (ex the downloads folder)
Download a hex editor app and open the file from the location you just copied it to
You should be able to find a set of characters in this file that matches your MAC address - make sure that the set matches exactly what you wrote down before
Change the characters to a new MAC address of your choosing and save the file
Using your file explorer, rename the original file 'WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin' in the /persist directory to something like 'WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv_bak.bin' to create a backup file
Copy and paste the modified copy of 'WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin' from your Downloads folder (or wherever you put it) to the /persist folder
Reboot and check your mac address as detailed in steps 1-2 to ensure that it has changed. This change will be persistent.
I used this small apk to change it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jworksbr.macspoofer
I think it's easier to change with one of the apps from the google play.
