Sprint to anounce release date of supersonic?

I seen a rumor that sprint premium account holders got a message saying look out for an announcement of a groundbreaking new device tomorrow. Supersonic anyone?

I love it. We are such phone geeks that we get excited about an announcement of another annoucement. I read VZW is announcing the Nexus tomorrow and been inpatiently wating. We are proud nerds.

I don't think it will be the Nexus. It will be the HTC incredible or maybe both?

I bought it the day after launch then got the Evo 3d on launch day. Now I just bought a used one off ebay for my mom to replace her Hero(my old phone before the 4g) It's been a blast playing around with one again. My 3D is better in almost every respect theres 2 things that bother me though. First is the new aspect ratio on the screen, the second is the great roms. We don't even have a rc for cm7 yet and our ics is nowhere near the 4g.

You'll be getting the real deal with ICS, so who cares how far along progress on something thats gonna get replaced is?
I wouldnt build ICS for the 3VO if its just gonna be replaced by an OTA. Wait for it to drop and customize from there.
The EVO 4g on the other hand, has a lot of development going on simply because its the only way we are going to get it.

sure is amazing the development that goes on for this phone. most other phones get left in the dust way sooner.

I was just going to post this topic we need a list of developers who will work on the new evo3d. Evo has been blessed with one of the best communities on xda and that is how I will truly decide which phone I get from now on, where the devs go, I go.

This question shouldn't even be asked. Every device, "hey guys do you think the devs are going to upgrade from the hero to the evo?" Now it is, "hey guys, do you think the devs are going to get the latest phone?"
Let me go back even more. "This touch pro rocks. Are they devs going to get the touch pro 2?" Of course they do.

sure.. most android phones will have someone that will mess around with it...
but some phones get more and better devs.. more adopters and active community...with more determinations and creativity.
shining examples: G1, hero/eris, incredible, EVO...
just look at the root forum and the list of all the android phones...HTC phones... not all have been as active as the one that I just mentioned.
tell you want... dont worry about it.. and just move on to the next thread/post.

i'd put down $20 bucks each for Toast and Shinzul. like any HTC ROMs, there will be dozens of people making stock based ROMs but only a few can do what those two can. plus what would the evo 3d be without a mostly functioning (or even supported) CM?

Well ladies and gentleman I did the unthinkable. I was going to hold out for the galaxy s2 but I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the EVO3D. I just want to say thanks to devs, trolls, mods, friends, cool kids, baby mama's and daddies, all the people who accepted the GB OTA especially the one guy who keeps making accounts asking for root, people who helped me, people I helped, people who annoy me, people that love team win, people that despise team win, people that create pointless threads like this one, and anyone else I left out that made these evo forums awesome!!! See you on the other side.....

@dased yeah i couldnt wait lol and @matty i hate sense also but the speed of the phone makes 3.0 awesome. I cant espress enough how much i really hate these camera buttons on the phone I could have really done with out them. Im amazed how cool the 3d technology is man I talked **** about 3D but boy is it cool. Missing my kickstand as we speak......

The camera button bothers you only because you aren't used to it. After you get used to it, if you use the camera, you're gonna love it.
I didn't know you ever had a kickstand to begin with....zing!

The fact that on the evo 3d the charging port/ hdmi port is one in same makes it a no go. At least with evo 4g you can stream Netflix, HBO go and other internet streaming sites while still charging the phone makes it a plus. That phone will be 99 bucks after Christmas.

Being a over the road trucker must truck stops have free high speed wifi. I have a 387 peterbuilt truck with a 32 inch flat screen mounted so streaming movies saves a ton on entertainment. They want 26.99 for a new release DVD... No way.... So for me the evo 4g is where I will be parked for a while and if I do upgrade I will still keep the phone for that purpose ... I think there will be much better phones offered in 2012.

The cool thing with me is that by the time I upgrade in January, the devs will have rocked the 3D and the S2 so I can just step in, "root the *****" and start playing, like i did with the Evo.

Same here. I cannot stand Sense. I actually played with an EVO 3D, and comparing it to my rooted, fully decked-out AOSP running phone, honestly it wasn't much faster either.
I'm sure it will be blazing once root is achieved and it has proper support, but my LauncherPro was certainly faster than Sense 3.0, apps loaded about the same speed, the browser pinch to zoom was almost exactly the same.
I'm sure for flash videos and graphics-heavy games it would certainly make a difference, but aside from that, a rooted EVO 4G easily matches the speed of a stock EVO 3D.

These threads make me laugh. You're looking at devices that you can know nothing about. Look at the specs for the Tbolt before it was released. Even just a month or 2 out. They aren't anything like the actual device. People swooned over this thing like a coming god. Now people just wanna talk smack about it. This is just a trip into Mr. Rogers land of make-believe.

You're right on the speculation... Nine times out of ten,the so-called facts are inaccurate.
But a big part of the fun of owning one of these gadgets is the excitement and speculation that goes around before they are released. We can't even imagine what's going to be available to us 6 months from now, and one of the best things about being a techie is seeing a device and having the bar raised for what we think is state-of-the-art. Why not have fun with that and put those future devices against what made our jaws drop 3 months ago?
Having said that, the only speculation that gets under my skin is updates. No one ever knows when they are coming, not even the so-called "insiders"... But people still throw out random months and quarters trying to sound like they're actually in the lab watching someone typing up code for it. LOL sheesh

I just think a good measure of sanity is needed, consideration of history, and a dialing back on the dreamy factor. As for updates, the only people that but those or post those must have really sore knuckles from dragging them like an ape. I'm talking life forms slightly more evolved than tree stumps. They just drive me crazy and I can't resist messing with them.

Do you think that Verizon will allow early upgrade to the Vigor from the launch Incredible? Otherwise the first incredible people should be able to upgrade in January.

I've had the Inc since launch and my early upgrade status started in June...waiting to see whats rootable Motorola phones are out so HTC and Samsung are only candidates.
The Htc Touch Pro was my first Verizon Smartphone and it was a dog...people jumped on the Touch Pro2 like it was going out of style and then The Imagio now Android is the hot thing so who knows in October or later on this year I might put my Galaxy in my backpack with my Motorola s-10 headphones and use that as my cellular device.

i have been a loyal OG4G user but i knew the 3D was only a half step. I am getting the E4GL. And know that Our beloved 4G is nearing its capacity. I wanted to share with my OG folks.
Also I would like to Propose the use of the word E4GL for the abbreviation. Thats Eagle for you noobs that don't read leet.

Ooohhhhh. I like that LTEvo. Like the way it rolls off the tongue. Hadn't heard it before. (EvoLTE, -like 'eVolt' - is nice, too, though, I think)

All I'm worried about is how much is going to cost me to get this phone. I have the EVO 3D now and it will only be a year into my contract by the time the LTevo is out. Does anyone know how this works, need to prep

Anyone else going mad about sprint announcing this like 2 mo in advance?! My god, the wait is killing me. (I remember the same thing for OG Evo, too, though). Every day, looking at pictures you've already looked at 1,000 times, Googling for any new info every few hrs. It feels like forever already.
(Still, gotta say I'm back and forth regarding the aesthetics. Sometimes I think it's gorgeous, then sometimes I wish the lines were more like the OG Evo, which I still think is one of the sexiest phones available)

I completely dismiss the look cause i have a tendency to mod my casings. And any time an ugly phone comes out that is worth the hardware in it. There tends to be alot of modders coming up with different options to pimp out the phone.
How epic would it be if some one made a clear cover for the top/back half?
Cant wait to see what the modding community has in-store for this awesome phone.

I haven't seen one upon looking... I hope there is one soon! I was curious if someone had rooted one already, haha. Seems to happen immediately these days!
Also, I truly hope someone makes a 3rd party covering for the SD card that is a matte black finish so those fingerprints don't go all over.
Speaking of cases, are there any that are advertised yet? Or does it usually take a while? I've never bought a phone on release day - this is killing me!
