[Q] Advice Rom - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello everyone,
A few days ago I switched to Android in nand,
I first have Android on sd,
I really like, and I have already changed many of the latest rom releases.
All very nice but, probably because it is very advanced, none is fully functional.
I'm looking for advice
I would like an Android Rom Easy, fast, reliable, fully functional, and with the sense (Not Sense 3.0)
What would you recommend?

Hi,
Check for froyo ROMS here:
http://android.hd2roms.com/

if you want real speed and having no problem then you can use pongster's or tyween's cyanogen mod roms.Roms having sense are slower, they are also bigger in memory and eat more battery.

uh, try CMYLXGOs Stock Desire HD , or HD2 CoreDroid HD GB 2.3.3 V2.1, both of them a good, but in my phone, i think CMYLXGOs rom has longer battery life.

I'd recommend imilka's Gingerbread Sense.

[Q] Just got my HD2...Which Android to use?

Hi:
I just got my Telstra HD2, and am very excited about installing Android on it but don't know which one to install. I also have a HTC Pure which I am also running Android on.
On the Pure, I boot into Windows 6x and then start another program called Haret something or another, and I then have Android.
I am looking for the same functionality on my HD2. I will basically use the HD2 Android for apps, and the HD2 Windows for Calls/Contacts/Calender, so I need to be able to switch back and forth via rebooting or some other way in an easy fashion.
Any links, suggestions would be greatly appreciated...and thank you in advance!

Before I switched to a NAND build I used this:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518
Check the forums - it's all a matter of taste! They're all good!
Hope this helps
If you want a Nand build to chose from, see this list [17 FEB]HD2 NAND BIBLE [roms][kernels][mods]
I aggree with jellywobbles on the SD build, it's sollid and fast.
The stuff in my SIG will work great
Dont hesitate and install the Hyperdroid GBX 5.0
Its by far superior to the rest in terms of speed, smoothness and unlike the others the creator actually helps you resolve your probs
cheers...
If you still want winmo, you must use a SD build... look in the SD development section for SD builds. It will work the same way with haret.exe, but you must also run clrcad first, then haret.exe.
Hi if you want android with sense use this:

Without doubt the best NAND ROM for the HTC HD2 you can get. That's the good news - bad news its has been removed from XDA due to GPL issues, so you'll have to hunt for it!
Be interesting to see just how long the links you posted stay here! No doubt a mod will edit your post & remove them!
Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock ...............
Skink Clean Desire
I prefer the Sense UI. Basically the dhd and dz builds are great and have the new sense but i couldnt find a rom that was stable and ready for daily use.
Now i use the Skink Clean Desire 1.2.
Its fast, stable and battery-friendly, what more would you want?

What's the battery usage like?
My MDJ CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 with CWM build is awsome, and seems to run for ever. I switch my phone on @ 0530 & off at about 2300 & its often got about 40% left. I use it quite a lot in the day for SMS, eMail, WhatsApp, Bluetooth etc.
Personally I dislike the Sense UI, but with CWM installed on my HD2 I am always trying alternative builds! The joys of CWM eh?
May give it a whirl.
I remember well what it is, when you have to choose your first Android builds for your HD2. Now that I have used several ones, I can give you some advice.
First, keep it simple, and stay with pure SD builds. By this, you keep booting first in WM 6.5 just as you are doing now with your Pure, and you then boot Android with the usual CLRCAD and HARET. This can be fully automated by using EBL (Exceller boot loader). You always keep the possibility to quickly return to WM 6.5 in case something is wrong with the Android build.
Beware that for many builds which include "SD" in their name, they are not pure SD and require you to flash MAGLDR. When I mean pure SD builds, I speak about builds which do not require ANY flashing, which makes everything much more easy in the beginning. You will have plenty of time later to choose more sophisticated options.
Now, about choosing a specific SD build, it more depends about your taste and personal feeling. Don't blindly trust those who tell you that this one "is the best ever", you will find the same comment for every build.
You have basically two choices : builds with HTC Sense, and builds without.
Among the builds with Sense, I really liked "MDJ's froyo HD 4.6", but it has been removed (too long to explain here). I also liked the "darkstone SuperRAM Sense v0.1".
Among the builds without Sense, you will also have the opportunity to test the latest "Gingerbread" version of Android, which does not exist currently with "real" HTC Sense (beware of false claims in the title of the build).
Personally, I must tell that, now that I have discovered and used Gingerbread, I will not be able to go back to older Froyo.
I am currently using the "[FEB 16]AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB232" from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
and it works really really well. It is easy to install, just read all the first post AND the FAQ.
But don't expect any build to be perfect, that all have some glitches.
And again, in the end it is much about personal preferences.
I always have a delima of which one is the best. With the plethora of ROMs, it is hard to pick out the best.

If you are interested in Sense 3.0 GB 2.3, I would recommend either Angeldeath's or Dungphp's Roms. Everything works in both with the exception of the camcorder and some minor graphic glitches.....

Yes, I'm sure they are stable. I have been switching between both of them for the last month. I am happy with both Rom's. The camcorder issue is an issue with sense 3.0 roms on the HD2. The 3rd party apps can make it work but it will lag a bit...
WHEN and i mean IF my phone gets fixed, im switching up to boyppc ginger sense..I hear good things about it! anybody running his rom and what version? sorry for TJ'ing
Is there any newer version to gingerbread that can be installed on HD2 ?
Like android 3.1 or 3.2 ?
3 is honeycomb which is for tablets
reaction
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 this one seems pretty stable.
If there will be an update of android for smartphones, i think it will be 2.4 and 2.5
2.3.5 is on it's way to the nexus s at the moment and cyanogen is qlready trying to implement it.
Stable versions where all is working are ndt miui 20.1 or hd2ginger or ndt ginger or hyperdroid ROMs. But most cm7 ROMs have higher battery drain than miui or stock ginger ROMs.
I am trying to flash teh steps in your link, but after I run ROMUpdateUtility, nothing is happeneing, it s always showing 0 % ...
any idea what to do ?
I tried both CLK and MAGLDR and both they show HTC screen, and teh bar stays on 0 % ...
how to make sure you "Make sure you have HSPL"

If looking for non sensed roms, i recommend you to flash tytung's Nexushd2 v2.8 + GPS 1.8.. very stable no graphic glitch nor camcorder issue. GPC's pure gingerbread rom is also great but its discountinued since v2.6f
These roms are capable to play 720p of youtube
For the faster user interface, download launcher pro from market (the stock launcher is slow on our old hd2)
also these roms support cLK and MAGLDR

I'm new to the forums (of hd2, so new in the flashing progress)
Although, you have to install Hspl, I know from the touch diamond
I'm very sorry, but got nothing to test it on, got an HD2 in 3 weeks...
Need to wait Maybe an other member can help
(link to hspl install guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433 - Think this one is pretty good.)
//Hardspl is needed to flash everything, thats why you'll need it

which rom would recommend for me ?

i just bought htc hd2 i installed wp7 on nand memory
and i wannna install android on sdcard and i dont want to try several roms
so what do you think is the most stable rom and the best one ?
and is there an official cm7 for hd2 ?
CM7, very stable and very good
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
most of the roms are pretty stable, the hd2 has been running android for a good while, plenty of time to work the bugs out. the sense 3.5 roms are still buggy, but everything else runs pretty good, aside from maybe little things here n there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
I like this one, I tried quite a few of the roms, and I used this one the longest, the battery life on this is pretty and everything is pretty stable.

[Q] Best Nand rom for HD2 with sense to you

There are loads of SD Sense ROMs? Just look for pretty much anything by MCCM or BoxMax, you can find Sense 3.0, 2.0, 2.1 and 3.5. I would recommend Sense 2.0 as the best (Froyo), it's almost as fast and stable as the average CM7/MIUI/AOSP ROM.
i would go with Team Blue droid.
phenomenal rom and super fast,
used to be a fan of energy series, but
would occasional hiccups here and there.
Good luck!

[Q] Best HD2 firmware with 2.3.X and HTC Sense

In your opinion, what's the best firmware with HTC Sense for HD2 that will work smothly on my device? It may be any version of HTC Sense, I just want no lags and freezes.
I have magdlr already installed, so it would be best that it will be a SD/Magdlr firmware,
Thanks.

The simple answer is just don't install a Sense ROM if you really want performance. It just slows everything down, even on devices which ship with Sense. The only smooth Sense ROM is a Froyo/Sense ROM but seeing as you want a 2.3 ROM, this quite obviously doesn't meet requirements. The next smoothest would be a GB/Sense 2.1 ROM, if you can find one.
i used to use Energy Sense rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733649
It's very fast. Iwas surprised cause i didn't expect,it's realy faster than a lot of htc android phones with native Sense..
