It's not just the housing, it's a fully functional phone AND a SPARE housing.
$100 works out about £60 GBP, I was really hoping to get more then that considering all the parts.. I paid £40 for the spare housing, £20 each for the desktop cradles......

i like the idea of it coming with it's own power supply as, correct if wrong, it can be mains chargins/syncing @ the same time?

Got the cradle today, very impressed, comes with charger, sync cable, good quality, but a bit on the big side. But the price made it worht while at $15.00
