[Q] gallery - Galaxy 3 General

I am on kyrillos rom . I downloaded the sgs tools and replaced the gallery with their hacked gallery ... After that the pics load superfast.. And the animation is amazing but I am having some problem with the screen .... The screen is quite like mmm.... Like the resolution problem maybe? Can any dev look upon this matter? I have quick pic and just pictures too but stock gallery is just awesome. Any devs to work on this?

Gallery 3D Quality fuzzy...

I am currently using 3 Gallery apps on the DHD; HTC Stock, Floating Image, and Gallery 3D.
Over all i think i prefer gallery 3D but it has some issues, when zooming in with Gallery 3D the image is a lot fuzzier than the HTC app.
It seems to be Version 1.1.3...
Is there anything that can be done?
There seems to be a distinct lack of options when it comes to the app.
I noticed this too and rated it low and left a comment...
I guess the dev isn't bothered at this point
Dev? I thought google was the dev, oops :/
Did it not come with the nexus one as stock?
Edit:
You rated it low? It is still awesome, id give it 4* with one deducted for lack of configuration options and fuzzy zoom...
I forget, I think I gave it 2 or 3. The fact you can't zoom in on an image seems a pretty massive drawback on an image app...
Yeah, I thought it was Google, but you'll see it in the Markets so...?
The description of the market app says its a 3rd party port if i remember correctly
Having said that, that means theres some source floating around, i'll have a look and see what the problem is, should be a fairly simple fix...
Would be very interested if you did. Be sure to let me know here if you do!
Hey I was also wondering how that app went on the dhd... i had it on hero but was slower then a sumo wrestler rock climbing!
but don't Cooliris make the app?
http://www.cooliris.com/mobile/nexus-one/
It is buttery smooth, no lag whatsoever
I installed Gallery 3D from Market couple hours ago because HTC own gallery app doesn't show pics from Picasa web albums and for me its superfast. And pictures are sharp and I can zoom in and out.

To clarify, everything works great, you CAN zoom in, but it does re-render the images.
If you zoom in on the Sense Gallery app, it will re-draw it showing the finest possible detail.
Zoom in on Gallary 3D and it doesn't redraw it Looks fuzzy when you zoom right in.

[Q] Fonts blurry on phone!

I've noticed this with other Galaxy 3 phones...the text quality is terrible! We know from how much nicer the full size screen shots of the phone look!
I guess its probably because of the resolution, smaller screen etc, but is there any way to fix this?
I dont think that this issue can be fixed coz the screen y big for the low resolution, and changing the dpi brings application problems and crashes, maybr changing the font but im not sure

[Q] Galaxy S2 low res wallpaper

Hey guys I've just got my Galaxy S2. Everything was fine at first until I discovered the annoying screen defects it has. First the yellow tint then the color banding(16-bit). Eh no problem but still now when I try to set a wallpaper it looks terribly low ress and the colors seemed to be banded. I must tell you the same wallpapers seen in gallery are full res and don't seem to suffer from banding.
The question now is can this be fixed?(Like software fix, DoA is over).KE7 kernel 2.3.3.
Thanks in advance
get wallpaper set and save from the market as a workaround
Oh mate I can't thank you enough for that... I am a big noob. Thanks it works!

Wallpaper Sizing Issues

I used some of my own images and sized them to the pixels of the screen and they look perfect in the gallery. Any time I try to turn into wallpaper however, either using galley or quickpic, it crops it down to just a little piece of the image.
Obviously I am doing something wrong....ideas?

You are not considering the scrollable areas. Nexus 10 wallpapers are 3966x2560.

Easily fit wallpaper maintaining the quality of image
I use PicSpeed: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.srsdev.wallpapers&hl=en
I use Simple Image Wallpaper....in conjunction with the wallpapers from http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/date/widescreen/2560x1600/
Works perfectly and is beautiful.

Issue with wallpaper quality

Anyone else have an issue where the lockscreen wallpapers aren't crisp and sharp looking? Seems like android compresses the wallpapers and they never look as good as the original image. I've tested out the new moto x and the stock wallpapers look tack sharp on the screen. This isn't just the lockscreen that's giving me this problem, it's the home screen wallpapers as well.
I've tested 1440p and 4k wallpapers as well with the same result. No, im not using low res photos.
Any ideas?

You are not alone. I have noticed the same thing. I believe its something with TouchWiz. I cropped my wallpapers to 1440x2560 in photoshop and they seem a lot better. Its funny how they still look a tad sharper in Gallery.

No problem here, maybe I have the same issue but I never noticed it. . I also crop all my wallpapers to 1440x2560 and set them as a wallpaper using Quick Pic.

I've tried this, and still no luck. Wallpapers on the Nexus 5 are tack sharp, same as the moto x 2014.
The images in the gallery look amazing, but when they are applied as a wallpaper they look compressed and
blurry, even when they are cropped to match the 1440p resolution. This isnt a huge deal, but just wish it didn't look like this.
This is True
I am going to buy Galaxy Alpha .
and when I looked at wallpapers on home screen and Lock screen on my friend's Alpha it really looked pixalated
I thought its because of 720p and 316 ppi .
but when I checked Gallary app and other apps pics and resolution was looking really superb .
I can see pixels only if I really look Deeply .
2k screen is wastage of battery , Frame rates and performance , specially on S805
I hope they solve this Wallpaper problem
I can confirm this, I've compared a 1440p pic on gallery and when I set it as a wallpaper, as a wallpaper it definitely doesn't look as sharp as when I opened it in gallery. hmmm I hope they fix it with a firmware update or something. Don't know if it has anything to do with this issue but did any of you guys try a different launcher to see if the problem is solved?
Pictures look better in Gallery if you're using Adaptive display mode, because what this mode does is increase sharpness and saturation when viewing images and videos.

I go back and forth between basic and adaptive display, same issue on either display mode.
On both my Moto X and Moto G, whenever I apply wallpaper through Zedge the wallpaper image looks sharp but when I downloaded the same image and apply from photo album the resulting wallpaper looks like their image quality has been reduced. The effects are really noticeable since it produces color banding.
I'm using both stock Moto and Google Now launcher, both have the same issue so I guess it's not Touchwiz related. If anyone can help in pointing to apps that will allow me to apply my photos in gallery without reducing quality I will be grateful.

Yeap... That's it. Thanks a lot!
An easy way to have the same effect on the homescreen wallpaper, is to open the image with studio and apply the Sharpen effect (100%). Then save as 8MP> and set that image as wallpaper. That image will have noise in the stock gallery, but when applied as wallpaper should look almost identical to how the original one looks in the stock gallery.
Cheers
I have no problems with wallpapers.
I edit them to an ideal size, which on the note 4 is 2880x2560 for AOSP-based launchers(scrolling wallpaper) or 2560x2560 for touchwiz/lockscreen.
I then set them through FX File Explorer which doesn't edit the image unless it's really needed.
