Is this normal? - Eee Pad Transformer General

Just picked up my TF, turned it on and noticed this. This quite beyond what someone would refer to as light bleed. Wanted to find out if this is normal or not? You can only see it from a certain angle, but still...

I just received my TF, and it does not have this issue.
I doubt it is normal, I'd seek a replacement.

Did you happen to put the tab at an angle where it looks like you're looking under the bezel?

No such issue, see attached

I'm quite disappointed. Sigh...back to Best Buy it goes.

Faded Spot On Screen?

So I've noticed recently that my screen on my CPO X has gotten a faded spot about an inch from the bottom of the screen. It hasn't reduced functionality or anything, it just... urks me, lol. Anyone else have this, and do you think Verizon might help me out? It makes the device significantly less attractive.
D: Also, only visible when the screen is on on a white page, but still.
Haven't over heated the phone once nor dropped it, running SetCPU at 1000 max 600 min.
Running on rooted stock, also.
Sent from my DROIDx
had this on my original and refurbished droid x, quite strange
Think I could get a new one if I ***** about problems with responsive problems? XD
I have this same problem in the same spot. Its really annoying lol

*problems with responsiveness?
Sorry, typo. Anywho, yeah, very annoying. It's only my second Android device, too- I came from the HTC Eris. Probably no way I can fix it, either.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
You might as well talk to Verizon about it. There's nothing you could lose from that

The screen works as it should, theres just a bright spot on white or light colored backgrounds.
I just traded my Incredible for the X. I really like this phone but this spot is driving me crazy! I wish I could fix it somehow.

I may have just found your post on DroidForums about the same issue.
Did you ever contact Motorola, by chance?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Same exact problem here. I talked to my guy at verizon and he saidd it for sure falls under a warranty replacement for a refurb phone. But it doesn't bug me enough yet to make me do that. I'll wait until my one year is almost up then replace it.

Yes I did but I don't have the receipt, the guy I traded with said he will take care of it. Hopefully they'll replace it for me. Its not a huge deal but it gets on my nerves.

I have what appears to be a dead pixel at the top right of my screen. It's a CPO and I received it this way. It has bugged the **** outta me since I got it. It was a replacement phone because the first one wouldn't stop rebooting. I think I'll call and complain as well, but I don't want my third X to have some other problem lol.

Try Jscreenfix, its free on the market, let it run for like 30 minutes... It fixed a dead pixel on my Droid 1.

Will try, but I don't think its a dead pixel. It just looks like a half inch wide faded spot.

I was playing with my friends new DX today and his screen looks so much better than mine for some reason, my screen looks really washed out and it has the ugly spot. Maybe by the time I get it back Gingerbread will be out
Are you gonna send yours in?

Would you return it for one stuck green pixel?

Title says it all got one stuck in the center, green. Only super noticeable on shades of grey.

Well if you're lazy like me then no. But if you feel like you've been conned out of your money then return it.
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
sure... you paid a fair deal for the phone- if you're dissatisfied, then samsung/retailer should rectify it.
but it does sound like lots of hassle for a single pixel.
of course...especially when you will be noticing it, everytime when you look at it
i'd return it . im sure now you see and look at the dead pixel everytime you look at the screen as you have already spotted it.
Well, kind of how I feel guys.

Probably not, depends on how noticeable it was.
If everything else works fine, there is always the chance you'll return it and get something far more annoying.
It reminds me of friends who used to return monitors that had a bad pixel.
- Frank
Yes I definitely would. Not sure if they'll accept the return though because of just one dead pixel.
yeah im sure it will be fine with exchange to newset.

I would return a monitor for one. I haven't had a dead pixel in a monitor in a very long time.
This one is pretty noticeable being in the center and all.

I would definitely exchange it coz i know how annoying that one dead pixel is.. i had a iPhone like that and i took it to apple store and they exchanged it for me.
I would definitely return it.
You deserve a new and defect free screen when you have paid for a new device.
Definitely I would. You'll never forgive yourself if u don't do it

Talking with the vendor, hoping they take care of me. They have a pretty awful policy on the books there though at 11 dead pixels for a return...
They're talking to the supplier, i will keep you posted.
Aren't there any apps that force colours to all the pixels which then, in turn, might unlock the green one?

Just found 'Pixel Fixer V 2.0' and its free. Give it a go. You can't lose really.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Exactly, there are methods of fixing dead pixels with a good chance of success. I would definitely google it and try them out (and maybe try to figure out which may be best for AMOLED screens).
Then, if nothing works and the dead pixel is in some annoying place I would ask for a replacement.

Even if you don't mind, say in the off chance you sell it later - and the buyer notices it and decides not to - you'll regret not getting a new phone.

The tab 10.1 covers the entire usable screen and cut for ebb the camera, but not the sensor.
That's suitable for me for now, but only if the pen works.
I guess no one has tried, ill be doing it this weekend and report back.
I went to get it put on day before yesterday. They didn't have any for the Note yet, so they "custom cut" one and put it on. It's for an iPad, so it has a big hole where the iPad button is and a small one where the iPad camera (?) is. Otherwise, it's fine. They'll swap it out for free when they get a Note one in.
I like it better with the stylus than the naked screen. I have GA on my phone, too, so I actually compared "writing" on my phone (with GA) to the bare Note screen before I got the GA. I liked it better then, so it's not just a case of liking it now because I spent money on it.

Dead pixel already !?

So I just noticed a dead pixel on the left middle hand side of my n7 while viewing a black picture should I take it back to office depo and get a new one or should I not worry about it , I have never had this problem before.

Yeah man, guess I have had some bad ones. I had an Evo that was plagued by a couple issues, one being a dead pixel. It seemed to develop another rather quickly. Thankfully the last phone with any issues. My first N7 had one, found during a screen test. Replacement is perfect. (replaced due to screen lift) Good luck.

A single dead pixel popped up over night.. right in the middle of the screen. That's really annoying..
It's black.. so it's visible in most apps. But is that enough to order a replacement?
Besides that, my N7 is flawless. Damn that's unfortunate.

Buying a N4 from craigslist

I think I found an old guy who does not want his N4. Can I pull my att sim card from straight talk and put it in the n4?
What other things should I look for before I make the purchase from someone who has had experience with this device? I am coming from the note 1.
Thank you for any help!

You may need to create the APN, but the phone is Sim unlocked.
Look for scratches, cracks, touchscreen unresponsiveness, earpiece crackle (some is OK. Just make sure it isn't unbearable), dead pixels and yellow spots on the screen.

Lol I was not trying to offend anyone.
I was stereotyping him because he said his wife had to order the phone online for him and that kind of phone wasn't for him. I am guessing it might of been his first smart phone. He is selling a 16 gig for 300 bucks and he used it one day.
He wanted the money to get a iphone:banghead:

It's an unevenness in the way the backlight lights up the screen. You'll see brighter spots around the edges. Some say it's the type of screen. It's not something I've ever looked for or noticed. It doesn't bother a lot of people, but perfectionists let it get to them.

When you get to him. Ask him if you can call Google and get the warranty transferred over to you. At the same time ask google if it has been blacklisted. If he does not agree, don't buy it.
