I've spent hours searching for the supposedly hacked version of AIM 2.0 for Windows CE 2003 that allows people on Windows Mobile 5 to use it. The problem with the standard AIM 2.0 available from AOL in the USA is that it has a menu on the bottom of the screen, and this causes havok in WM5 and WM6. I knew I had this "hacked" UK version of AIM 2.0 CE in the past, and had gotten it from this forum, but no google searching or forum searching could turn it up. After lots of manual post reading I've found the relevant post that contains it, so I'm making this post to save the rest of the world some time (should any strange individuals like myself seek to use the official AIM client on WM5+). I know a policy of this forum is to post links to prior threads rather than starting new threads but I feel there is no thread that concerns this topic. There is a thread about keeping GPRS connected in WM5, and one user of that thread suggests using Pocket AIM for this purpose and provides an attached copy of the "hacked" version of it (which seems to astonish people posting in that thread because AIM isn't supposed to work on WM5). So, here it is and please do not remove this post, since it will enable google surfers and forum searchers to find this rare file without wasting their time (not that browsing this forum all day is ever a waste of time).

If this was or is an official version, I'd like someone to add it to the WM5 compatibility list. Maybe I'll post a link in there as well.
Note: I've tried imov messenger and tons of others, but I choose this client for AIM because of unexplainable personal preference, so please don't post a million replies about how silly I am not to use whatever client you prefer.
UPDATE: After buying a new phone and lots of time going by, I went to this post to get AIM and the download link wasn't functional. A different link to the same file can be found in this post: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/588878-post36.html on a different forum. Maybe I'll post it in here when I get around to it. Any mirrors are welcomed.
very very nice post, I've sent this to about 20 people.
Hello. For me GSFinder is the best Explorer out there especialy with the customizations made by duty and Mr.Anderson which can be downloaded in the attachement below.
But there is just one thing missing for me - Photos Thumbnails. And I want to ask is it to possible to make GSFinder support Thumnails for Photos or Preview ?
Can you attach them here? PDA4.ru isn't international-user friendly... I can't register no matter what (already tried in the past to get 7zip for WindowsMobile)! I think it's always something like XXплюсXXравно (where X is a number).
I'd also like to see a new version of GSfinder+ but the original source seems to have vanished from Todamitsu's website... Closest thing I found was GSfinder+ recompile.
Do the authors of these mods provide the source (I'm not a coder but it would be a shame for that work to be lost... besides being a license violation)?

I'm sorry but I didn't know how to attach a file, but I figured it out and it's attached.
About the registration in 4pda. "плюс" means + and "равно" means =
For example:
94плюс81равно means 94+81=175
Thanks I'll try it.
I never thought of translating the cyrilic parts separatelly in Google translate
Will join the forum since I've been wanting to download a version of 7zip for CE (which would also be a great addition to GSFinder+).
Hate to bump an old thread, but GSFinder is probably more popular in Android now.
I'd love to see an all black GSFinder with White hyper text links.
Anybody know anyway to change this?
Looking for some to create a simple widget/app that will display headlines and once a headline is clicked, will display the article. The headlines are from the following site, the wiretap headlines:

If anyone would like to help that would be much appreciated. PM me or reply to this post.
Fuze running an EnergyROM 6.5
Hi geedubyabee,
Attached is a simple app that I think does what you want. I have not cabbed it for now. Unzip the file in your pc and you will get an exe file, you simply need to copy the exe file to your mobile and tap it from your mobile to open it.
.Net3.5 is the minimum requirement.
Btw, if you are able to open the app from your mobile, you will see that both pages open in one as I have not cared of styles instead I have simply rendered the contents only.
Enjoy
Thanks pkshr. This should do just fine. Only issue I had was the lack of finger scrolling and the links didn't show the article. But sometimes the headlines are enough. Thanks again.
i haven't tried it but you can take a look at this: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=4161
Dear chefs,
Everybody knows how slow some online share-site's are. It's frustrating for you, that every time you just finished your new ROM, you have to wait so long
The users are frustrated by the same site's because of all the restrictions: wait 1 or 2 minutes, it's to busy right now, slow connection, you reached your max. data quota for today, and all the terrible add's & pop-ups!
But, there is a solution! It is an application for your computer (win & mac) that will put a special folder on your desktop. It is a special folder because everything that you put in that folder, automatically synchronizes with your ON-LINE storage space! If You have more than 1 machine like me, you are glad with the next feature: synchronizing between desktops. I've installed the application on my Win7 desktop, and on my MacBook. So stop mailing yourself, end throw away that USB stick that's always lost
But, why you MUST use it, is the Public Folder in your synchronizing folder! When you have finished your new ROM, just put it in your folder (zip/rar is not necessary!) en right-click > provide public link!
This link, you post on XDA and every user can download your new ROM in peace! To test it, here is a link from the Mikenificent 13.3 ROM, I put in my public folder> LINK
See a short youtube video with all the possibilities
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFb0NaeRmdg
So, have I convinced all Chef's to use dropbox for your ROMS?
Use this LINK to get started whit dropbox. Why that link? It's a referral link, and when you use that we both get hooked up whit 250MB extra, besides the 2GB standard storage!
Thank you, and keep cooking!

sometimes we use the online storage hosters (not me) to gain money cause sometimes( like me) buy a premium account to store everything, as many ppl do. and sometimes some storage dont erase our files...
So... whats the benefit in this cases to us? wich is the fastest Upload download rates you have? does it erase files when nobodys download them? you will get money for it? does we?
Mediafire dont erase my files... and dont have waiting time dunno if ppl is happy with it... and ppl do its own mirros in fact.

Maybe if you didnt post your own refferal link at the bottom of that post, you would have been more.. believable.
Dropbox is nice for small files. However the speed, sucks sometimes. In order to make files available publically you have to put them in the Public folder, where they will get erased 30 days later. So there's some drawbacks, but for a cook that only cooks for one or two devices and plans on updating the ROM at least once a month, it's not a bad choice
@OP:
Two items;
1) Here is a review that I did on the various file hosting services:

2) You have posted this in several forums. It's borderline spam, any more instances and your account will be suspended.

Morning all,
I have never created an app, but decided to look into it late last year. I began work on an app around September 2014, did a little work every weekend, and haven't really touched anything since November.
I have experience with HTML, CSS etc (I can write them). I can also have a basic understanding of other codes such as PHP, JavaScript, Java, C etc - basically, enough that I could take some code and edit it to suite.
I was hoping that creating an app would a) help grow my current business and b) give me a new challenge to learn new code.
Anyway, I'm really stuck on what to do. I downloaded Eclipse at home, but my laptop is on it's last legs. I have been creating the app at the office, using Adobe Flash Builder 4.7. I read a few tutorials, and downloaded some sample apps to learn from (as part of some of the tutorials). However, none of them have what I want.
My App Idea
So, enough waffling on, I'll try and explain my app without giving away what I want to do.
Basically, the app will be one where users can enter an error code, and press search. The result would be a page showing the description of the error code, and then what the solution is to fix it. There is then potential to add a "buy this part from" link which will suggest suppliers to visit.
So, as an example, let's say a user got a Blue Screen error code on their PC of "ABC1234". They would enter that code into my app, and the result would say something like:
Code: ABC1234
Description: RAM Error - overheating
Fix/Solution: Replace RAM
What I Have So Far
Other than a couple of test files that I've been learning with, I don't have anything solid in terms of an app. What I do have though is an Excel file with 889 error codes and what each code means.
What I Need
So, I guess what I need is either:
some help/guidance on how to create an app that in it's simplest form is a home page with a search box, and then 889 pages in the background that return depending on the searched error code.
or, someone willing to help me develop such an app
Firstly, download Android Studio - Don't use eclipse anymore
Secondly, here is a tut on using an older version of Android Studio
Have a go, see how you end up. Let us know, if you're really needing help, ask here again
Thanks,
I'll have to try that once I get home as the IT Administrator at work has to vet everything that gets installed.

Thanks sir but do we have a highly compressed Android Studio? 800mb+ is such a big file to download.
Like minooch said, install an IDE, understand how it works and then try some tuts on Internet to learn how Android works. What you want to do isn't really hard, you'll manage quickly to do it but you will be prouder if you do all by yourself.
Some hints : Don't go coding directly, try to organize your project (data structure, classes, methods) before starting to code. On a small project, it's not as important but if you start doing things well now, you'll thank yourself in the future

I know a technique for such kinda work.Web crawling us your answer. If you could setup a website for that then I can make a app for that easily within two days. Inbox for any further information or quote back

You need the JDK. Please read the instructions on the download page. Under the section 'Requirements'
