I tried looking in the forum for any info on the status LED next to the speaker on the front side but I don't see any posts on this. Is this LED supposed to flash or do something? On my HD it has never worked? Is it supposed to work?
I remember on my Artemis it would flash green for good reception, blue for bluetooth and red if the battery was low.

I may be wrong but i was under the impresion that this was a sensor rather than a LED.
No, that's entirely correct, it is the light sensor. The LED is in the power button.
the status led is on the power button on the top right hand side of the blackstone...the place u highlighted is a sensor as what scotia has point out..
I think that it is a proximity sensor used to blank screen when you put the phone on your ear to talk.
It's actually the light sensor used for when you have automatic display brightness enabled. When it's dark, it turns down the brightness... And when it's a sunny day it cracks it up. I am not sure whether it's used to blank the screen during a call... This seems to happen after a period of time has elapsed.

ok thanks for the info.
So does the power LED on the top side flash any color to show the status of the reception or does it only light up orange when it charges?
Thanks.
doesn't do anything for reception..although mine flashes green hen I have a message/email/reminder
pity though, a decent LED to show such things was probably high on everyone's wishlist
No, the HD is perfectly unobtrusive. On my last PDA the LED had to be tweaked to stop flashing.
Too bad this isnt a LED diode Since I got on my Diamond a light notification (on the bottom of device)... when I recieved new sms... now on HD there is no way I can figure do I have new sms or notification unless I turn the screen on. The only hardware flaw by mine opinion
When its lying down, I agree with you. Then I have to turn on the screen. However when its lying next to me I'm usually not in a place were I can't use my phone, so the sound is on anyway.
I actually think its quite good the LED is on the top, it's easelly visible when the phone is in my pocket. I just have to pull the phone up a little and look down to see the LED (no need to get it out and turn the screen on). I like it on the top, nice and discreet, and not anoying me when I'm looking at the device while using it.
Perhaps a combination would be nice? Front and top That would sattisfy most people I guess...
I've flashed the T-Mobile version of the tab with the Euro. I have not seen any functionality coming from the red LED light right next to the front facing camera. Although, I really dont care if its functioning. I am just wondering if it is the Euro rom that is making it not function but then again it should work while charging while powered off.
That's because it's a ambient light sensor. Not an LED light.
my mistake but where can i find a thorough specs for the tab. http://galaxytab.samsungmobile.com/ only has quick specs and the start guide does not have much information.
also the busybox port, lspci does not display anything although dmesg does.
Dear guys;
I own a Galaxy Note 4 which is no longer under warranty and I've just spotted that some LEDs in a row have got dim. Actually, to check the led lights I put my phone's screen under the microscope and just figured out that the problem is with the blue LEDs (some blue LEDs were producing less light there and the other LEDs were OK). I also checked whether it was for an effect or something but actually it was not. Actually all i found about the case on the web was about the dead LEDs (but my LEDs were still working) and I didn't find anything useful.
I'd REALLY appreciate it if you guys give me a solution to the problem because it's REALLY annoying. so thank you in advance
I wish you all the best
Maybe burned-in effect? On my Note where is the notification bar the screen is brighter (when bar is hidden). This week I will send it to the repair (mine is still under warranty)

I was wondering if this device had led capability.
No.
It has a camera light, but no multicolor LED near the sensors.
Hello.
Actually I am very satisfied with my device. The only thing I don't understand is why the two LED lights never do anything.... I can't find any options in the settings about it. Does it not have this function or where can I find it?
Thanks in advance.

What LED lights? I have a Tab A 2019 SM-T510 and there aren't any LEDs. And I can't imagine why it would need any.
I mean those 2 points on the top. On mobile phones they indicate with blinking leds when you for example received a message, or when its battery is empty... For what are they then???
On the front there is the selfie camera and a light detector. No LEDs.
On the back thre is the other camera and flash.
If there are actually leda, these are leds not used by software and of course, hardware is useless unless they have software to use it.
