HELLO,
I JUST DOWNLOAD THE ROM HONEY SENCE_THREE.
ITS PRETTY NICE BUT WHEN I SET IT WITH THE .APK SETCPU
IT DID NOT SHOW ANY MORE THAN 1.2 MHz.
IS THERE A .APK THAN I CAN USE IT TO GET MY PHONE WITH MORE LIKE 1.8MHz?
OR OTHER WAY..

Just flashed StupidFast v1.2.3 kernel through CWM and rebooted. Phone came up... how do I tell that I am actually running that kernel?
You can look in set cpu. There are details that will tell you the kernel info.

Yes. Geeknik tagged his kernels so you will see geeknik somewhere after the base kernel version. I believe the date/time thats in the tag is the build time as well, so you can kind of get an idea of what geeknik kernel you are running (it looks like the 1.2.3 version was built around 4PM on the 16th)
Is there a rom that is as close to the stock 2.2 update w as possible but does not update hboot? I would like to update to stock but not lose nandroid.

Check out the Liberated Aria 2.2.2 thread in the Development section.
Fully rooted and flashable ROM from the Froyo 2.2 update.

Thanks for the link. It sounds like it has a different (oc) kernel. Is it not possible to use the stock one?

why would you not want to? they obviously included something that is "behind the scenes" that will help your phone with performance.
I have this installed, I don't think he did anything to the kernel. he just mentions that the oc kernel he uses works with it well. maybe I'm missing something but I haven't noticed any overclocking stubs.

overclocking stubs?
you have to have an app (such as setcpu) to overclock...the kernel just allows for the phone to be overclocked and i can only imagine the stock kernel did not.
You can find app in forums if you search for its free to xda users.

I installed the rom and so far so good. The reason I want it as stock as possible with no overclocking is primarily battery life and just to see how it was released. I did notice you can toggle third-party installs, which allowed me to continue using swype.

He also compiled a OC kernel using the Aria Froyo 2.2 kernel source code that was released this week, too. The OC won't affect battery life if you don't enable it.
Thanks. Any idea what the APN settings should be to use mobile hotspot sans att?

Yes, bad wording. when I tried setcpu there was no option to go higher (ability or "stubs" not there)
I've since gone up to gene's oc kernel with no problems so far.

I rooted and flashed my phone (for the first time) to this today, such a huge improvement (IMO) compared to the stock rom. Am loving every bit of it!
how to add the crt patch to a rom?
What exactly do you want? which ROM? Adding to a ROM you're actually using or a ROM you developed and you want it in there for everybody who flashes it?

Actually I don't have any idea how to do it. I just thought, if you'd give details, someone with knowledge would see you question

You have to edit the framework.jar file if I remember right. A search will lead you to the needed info
I'm running the latest nightly of CM7 on my HTC Glacier and I can't seem to find a compatible kernel that allows for user-set undervolting. Any undervolted kernel I've tried doesn't allow for user adjustments.
If you know of any good ones that also allow for OCing, please post below.
Try SetCPU or ROM Toolbox. The kernal just gives you the governors I think, but don't trust me on that because kernals aren't my strong point..
Did you try TDJ's v12?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113554
You can use incredicontrol or oc/uv beater to undervolt derek's kernels. They rock, btw.

Look in the resource bible. It might be in the 3rd post.
Also to undervolt use Oc/UV beater. It's the only one that worked for me.
Simply question..
Is there a kernel you can flash on a stock rom?
regards
Lohtse
Why do u wanna do that ?
If u r on froyo
Froyo kernel is already in it

A same question. my defy plus is already rooted. But somehow the overclock isn't supported by the stock kernel. I'm using Set CPU apk.

I think about the combination between walter's kernel and stock rom. But there's no such combination. Isn't it? Just want a rom: fast, stable, and full motorola blur. Is it a dream? haha

MS2Ginger is that dream. Even has 720p video recording (for red lens camera only).
