Sim and sd slots, for sim card and your sd card.

Running phiremod 6.3 and my nook color froze up no longer responding to touch. Volume keys don't work, but I can hold down the power key to bring up the menu... just can't select anything to make it reboot. Also the screen is stuck on, won't dim, won't go off when hitting the power button.
Any suggestions on how to force a reboot or am I waiting for the battery to die?

I've only had my nc for a couple days but when mine froze I held the power button until it powered off. Maybe there is a better way.
Awesome it worked. Looks like my biggest problem was impatience lol. Just needed to hold down that power button for about 30 seconds.
Thanks for helping!

I have had this phone for over a year and the power button is getting harder to activate. I also have a nook color, when I plug the nook up it powers on. Is there a way to have something similar on the mt4g? Power on through USB or charge. Thanks.

I dunno if it can with ADB. But what if you hold the volume down and power button to get into bootloader. How is you power button failing, can you get me a picture?
Could it be that your flex cable is getting worn out or just not actuating the power properly (ie. like with a microswitch, eventually the "springiness" of the switch won't properly let the microswitch activate) If you don't get what I mean, like the inside housing of this microswitch; http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f8/Microswitch.jpg
Based on this post it seems the mobo flex cable is what depressed an internal switch to turn the device/screen on and off. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591388
The last part of your post though, do you mean that you turn off the phone every night and turn it back on the next morning? Does this only happen when the phone is off and it acts normally when turning the screen on and off?
Well problem solved. I flashed the cwm touch 8.5 I think. Anyways it boots up into recovery when plugged in. I can live with that. I will miss 4xt. Thanks again guys n gals.

Forgive me if this sounds ignorant, but is this a common HTC issue? I own a Glacier and an HD7, and I've seen power button issues for both of them.
Well the issue was pressing the power button would do nothing 95% of the time and 5% would turn the device on. So, problem solved with the cwm touch recovery, except it boots in to recovery mode and is touch sensitive. That's good enough for me though. I just need to be careful when turning the device on.

i have the same issue with my phone...power button is completely broken..,
but i managed to map the search key (hardly use this button) with the power button using the button remapper found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464)
For reboot, i just connect it to any power outlet and it turns on into CWM touch recovery...
i can live with it until the next nexus..

If you feel comfortable opening up the bevel of the phone, you may want to check and see if the pieces of the power switch are still seated properly. I had a similar issue (which I wrote about here) that was entirely due to the pieces of the switch going off-center, making the button less responsive over time and eventually completely useless. The symptom was that the power button seemed to have less and less actuation to it.

My experience with it is at the bottom.
Holding the lock button no longer brings up the menu to power off, it just locks the screen. Doesn't matter how long I hold it for nothing shows up.
Hoping I've just done something stupid?

Got a nexus 7 but the power button doesn't work.
Can put the screen to sleep using a magnet but the power button wont work.
Im scared that if the battery goes down that it will never come back up.
Can anyone help if I could power it up without the power bottom.
Thanx
