Anyone else want in? We are in need of developers for the Droid X. If you wish to join in let me know and I'll be more then glad to fill you in. It's a closed project, but will be public to everyone once we get it ready.
UPDATE: We will be basing the ROM port off of the Desire Z for all devices over the Desire HD due to landscape support in sense, keyboard support for Epic, and overall performance.

For anyone who has been following my Nebula ROM thread, you might already know that I've been quite busy since taking a new position at my company. I have all intentions of keeping Nebula alive and kicking, but I need your help. I no longer have enough time to do updates, fixes, theming, testing, and releases entirely myself at the level of stability that I require, and the scope of the project is getting larger. With source code released, I intend to expand to kernel development as well. This is why I have decided to expand the Nebula project and open the doors to some new faces.
I have openings for the following....
1) Kernel Developer - Perhaps 1 or 2 depending on how much time they have
[ ] Open
[ ] Open
2) Theme Developer - Somebody who is experienced in doing this the right way and not just hacking up files
[ ] Open
3) ROM / Validation Developer - fixing bugs, closing out issues, creating ways to validate the ROM before we send it to testers, automating the process at bit, adding info to wiki
[x] SprintSucks
[ ] Open
4) Testers - I have historically done all of the testing myself with a very high level of success (read luck). It is time to broaden the coverage and have more testers before a release.

Why would you want to be on the team?
Experience with a collaborative development project.
Experience with Android development.
Experience with source code management (currently using SVN)
Experience using issue tracking (using google code)
Clear goals and direction of ROM - Stability, reliability, battery life, functionality
Be part of a team using best practices for development, issue tracking, testing
Do you get payed?
Nope. I don't even ask for donations. Currently I have a blurb about my photography business. With the addition of other members, I will be removing most of that and recommending any and all donations be made to ptfdmedic at his blog lostandtired.com.
If interested you can reply below, or PM me with your interest and qualifications.
I'd test for you. I could probably figure out theming, I'm a web and interface developer and I could probably make something nice, but I wouldn't go signing up for that just yet.
Testing
I flash constantly and chronically for that matter. Very picky and I know what I like so testing would be great.
Willing to be a Tester 8]
I'm not great at developing but i flash ROMS at-least 2-3 times a day.
If you need a tester, just give me a pm. Been using your ROMs since the first release. Willing to help you with your ROMs, I like your goals when it comes to developing.

I could help with testing if you still need anyone. I love flashing and trying.out new roms.

would like too be a tester.
Would love too be a tester. Been rooting flashing roms. Constantly on heros evos epics moments. For for a few years. Change roms on my epic 3 or 4 times a week
I'm willing to test for you, if you still have an opening.
Same as most... Sign me up for a tester position if you need. Wish I could, but not sure I can help with any other spots.

I think it would be a good idea to put something in here as to the current status rather than create an empty OP. Then informed questions could be asked instead of "when is this kernel be done."

Thanks for this thread...can you add a link for the kernel name poll thread?
And can you ask the devs for the next steps? I mean...now they are working on audio...(that compiles...as I read in github) but the next is touch? Display? Or what...maybe that is already working...I dont know...
Again thanks for this

Hi,
You can use the "Donate To Me" button above MMontuori or krystianp avatars, in the Development thread (only in Browser mode, not with XDA app)
I remember MMontuori said they manage donation inside the team, but the post and others have been deleted by moderator because of stupid flooding users...
Or maybe you can donate to MMontuori, link on his website: http://www.montuori.net/, but this is not for the ICS kernel port I think.
Did you contact krystianp, as he told here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38336925&postcount=587 ?
I think you could put that quote in the OP, to avoid the question:

Info:
According to the article below Google is working on an experimental Linux Kernel 3.8 which is available for download. This kernel supports Tegra open-source drivers and uses far less memory. I hope this helps the Atrix developers.

To be honest with you if it didn't support Tegra 2 then my suspicious would become of a reality.
There was a news, in late 2012 or early 2013, that AMD is taking nVidia to the courts for alleged secret documents being taken by former AMD employees when jumped ship to nVidia.
The timing appears to match the Tegra 2 release timeline and I do remember nVidia wasn't successful with their original Tegra (Tegra One) at all. Not a single consummer product was ever released using that chipset. In my opinion, nVidia is worried by releasing the source code of Tegra 2 they would be exposed to what and whatnot they copied from AMD design. One has to remember, AMD was way ahead of nVidia because they had both ATI GPUs and their own CPU designs already. nVidia came from no where and made a huge success for themselves.
If my assumptions are totally wrong then I can't understand why nVidia refuses to give the source code to the general developers but agreed to share the source code with Motorola, LG, and ZTE in the past? I guess you can get the companies to sign the dotted lines to avoid disclosure but not with general developers such as the XDA developers.
I am just an untrained eye...

I'm no dev, just a desperate Photon owner. I can read source code with a rudimentary understanding. Looking here at the 3.8 source:
https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/common/+/experimental/android-3.8/drivers/gpu/drm/tegra/host1x.c
It looks like tegra 2.0 is defined in host1x.c:
Code:
static struct of_device_id tegra_host1x_of_match[] = {
{ .compatible = "nvidia,tegra30-host1x", },
{ .compatible = "nvidia,tegra20-host1x", },
{ },
};
And:
Code:
static int host1x_parse_dt(struct host1x *host1x){
static const char * const compat[] = {
"nvidia,tegra20-dc",
"nvidia,tegra20-hdmi",
"nvidia,tegra30-dc",
"nvidia,tegra30-hdmi",
};
I think that it's early to make conclusions, but... yeah.
I think the first thing we need is a finished ics kernel, and then it is much easier to port to kernel 3.8 progressively.

Providing Tegra 2 is part of nVidia open source drivers then kernel 3.8 would be a huge step forward because version 3.8 natively support tegra drivers. Also, as I stated, memory and performance will be huge bonus too.

The opensource tegra or any other nvidia opensource drivers for Linux are way behind in terms of performance and features compared to nvidia's closed source drivers. By the time everything is sorted out with the opensource drivers, t2 will be long forgotten.

It looks like the Open Source project is *at least* being sponsored, which help mitigate some of the financial burdens OSS developers face. Real progress still remains to be seen, but hope is not completely lost yet.
Hi guys, long time no see. Straight to the point. A few months back I promise upndwn4par I would sent him my Atrix 4G for him to use as his main development device. Like the busy dummy I am, the device end up in my trunk only to be found in the past few days while I cleaned my car for the first time in months (don't judge me, I'm busy). As soon as I found the device I contacted par to find out if he still want it, he then fill me in on his transition to sg3 and formulated 2 great ideas.
1. Sell the device to fund Atrix Reboot Project (This could bring in a good 6 or 7 months of hosting. That's about 80$-90$) or;
2. Donate the device to an Active Developer.
I'm happy with either option, so I am here to let you decide. upndwn4par put in a good word for mmtouri and the team working on the 3.1 kernel, but I would love to see some suggestions and/or other ideas if you got it.
I will do this in 2 waves.
The next 48 hours (I will start counting the 48 hours at noon[12:00AM/EST], march 7) the vote will be to either donate or sell. If you vote to donate, please post who you think it should be donated too, and make mentions of their contributions.
If the sell option is selected, there won't be a wave 2. Now if donation is selected.
I will simply open up a poll and add in the 5 most mention developers. This poll will be open for 48 hours too.
In the rare situation that everyone simply mentions the same developer, I will skip all the poopoo and donate the phone without a wave 2.
If no more than 2 developers are mention, I'll flip a coin on G+ Hangout.
Rules to participate:
1. Absolutely no flaming. This is not a competition, this is an exercise in community resource redistribution. We are trying to help, not to fight!
2. Keep the conversation on point.
3. Developers can request a donation and it also must include mentions of contributions.
4. This is not a sale. I am not selling this device to anyone. If the sale option is selected, I will personally take care of selling the device in my own time. If you so happen to be interested and the sale option is selected PM. Do not post asking or offering a price. Sales of devices in XDA is not permitted. ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT SELLING THIS HERE OR TO YOU
@ LAST: Rock/Paper/Scissors over G+ Hangout <--- Another Fun Simple Option.
Donate to the Atrix 4G ICS/JB/KLP Kernel project.
What, not rock/paper/scissors/lizard/spock?
I vote to donate the device to either mmontuori or krystianp, ie. The Kernel Team. I'm thinking Krystian might need it more since he's the one playing with JTAGs and stuff more, but he's outside US so it might be easier shipping it to Michael instead. Or maybe to some other team member (yeah, the team has grown...). In any case, they will know, so contact them first.
Most generous dev ever!

i recommend to give it to another elite recognize developer, that can help with the kernels and roms then we could have more people to work on kernels and roms stuff, imagine a gokan moral or stratosk or franco or mathkid95 or codeworx if one of those guys join the kernel team or teammate with epinter and mmontuori this could be sick and extend the development even more
I think we can all agree that overwhelmingly everyone who replied chose the kernel team. If no one disagrees, I'm going to skip wave 2 and say, I will donate the device to the kernel team. I will wait until Tomorrow night @ 12:00 am and if no one disagrees, it is done! By the way I updated OP with pictures of the full kit, custom painted atrix 4g, charger to go with it, 8gb sd card.
Man.. you're awesome I also think you should donate your device to the kernel devs! )

They have been alerted btw.
I quickly followed the link this morning for the Native WIREGUARD ALPHA - This is exciting news but has anyone cooked this into a OP5 ROM yet? I saw a few mentions about the 3T Roms. This is superb news for those who do not want to pay for an "Always on" VPN or if your company supports it. Express and Nord do not suppport it from my knowledge.
AzireVpn offers a free wireguard trial, but afaik none of the ROM for oneplus 5 integrate wireguard
This guy's kernel does:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...ernel-v1-0-t3659010/post73457010#post73457010
It should be super easy to add it to any ROM, too. Which one are you using? We can discuss with that ROM's devs.
