I am a complete noob and am ready to take on installing android on my T-Mobile HTC HD2. I've discovered that not all versions have FM radio available. I would really like to know which ones have over the air FM radio. Thanks in advance and please don't hate me for asking
I've tried a lot of builds and have been very happy with this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918899
It's not the newest build, but it's fast, stable, and it provides great battery life. It has the best FM Radio implementation I've experienced on the HD2 so far.
Good luck!

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Android having got my HTC Tattoo during the week.
I'm wondering if there is any way to get Android 2 (Eclair) onto my Tattoo? I've googled for it but there's only instructions for the Hero.
I don't care if its a vanilla ROM without Sense UI. I'm just looking for an update to help improve battery life and bluetooth functionality (plus I like to have all the latest versions of things ).
I emailed HTC about it and they said they couldn't confirm if the Tattoo was getting the update (which probably means it won't...)
Also, I'd rather not use a buggy beta ROM .
Thanks in advance,
Keith
PS: I know people managed to get a V2 ROM onto the G1 by rooting but I presume it's differen for the Tattoo because the different screen size, addition of FM radio etc.
Hello,
Tried several Android builds, most of them except shubCraft are TERRIBLE when you call someone and people on the other side can't understand what you're saying. I had a friend already asking me which phone do I use, I said HTC one and he replied he'll never buy an HTC phone because of how ****ty he can hear me.
It's not my phone or signal strenght - because in shubCraft build people can hear me okay, winmo aswell, plus i have 5bar signal.
Chefs, can you please check your build's voice quality first?! HD2 firstly is a phone, winmo/android/software h4cks come as second. I love playing with "cheffing", builds, roms, software, etc, but at the same time I want to simply be able to make a call like you can with any 10-15 year old mobile phone.
What radio are you using?
Using 2.12 radio
ive not used a shubcraft build but i have not had issues with not people hearing
i've this probleme ...i already test several radio....2.10 2.12 2.14 and 2.15
Of course chef's check they audio quality, look at what's written on the latest tweet: http://twitter.com/CotullaCode
I'm using radio 2.12.50.02.2 and honestly its brilliant, no complaints
I am based in Perth WA and have finally had enough of dealing with my European HD2 in remote issues. No reception
Have just picked up a Telstra T9193 and want to know if there are any special consideration regarding Android. Std Radio, Firmware and android?
On the H8585 I am running Miri Rom, 2.14 radio and Froystone 3.1 Android.
All running sweet.
miri, 2.15 radio, froyostone sense 3.1 on my t9193. no problems here
Energy 21680 from 29Sep with Darkstone 3.1. I just upgraded my radio to 2.15 yesterday and am testing that out. I'm in the US so I don't know if these radios would work well for you.
miri v17 rom updated radio to 2.15 here in New York area and found better reception, faster 3g and better battery despite many other claimed more consumption. WM6.5 is running smooth as butter and tried both SkinnyEvo and Froyo HD without a problem too.

Hi guys there's been a lot of movement in WP7 development for the HD2, I just wonder which is the best WP7 rom, that you guys have tried.
Thanks for your feedback.
I tried some custom ROMs. My favorite is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953078. really a top Rom, fast, no bugs found, and all were detected sd cards
It's honestly tiring reading these posts, why don't you just simply try out each rom and judge for yourself which is the best for you?
I'm not bagging on you but is it too much trouble to use 2-3 minute to flash a new rom? Find one out there that you think suits you the best because everybody has a personal preference.
Sorry bazinga I just think that it takes 2-3 minutes plus a little more time to really evaluate the features of a rom, you know, battery drainage, wi-fi, among others, that’s why I’m asking to the people of this awesome forum to help me with their experiences. That's all.

Oh in that case, I personally use Football's WP7 Rom.
With the battery registry tweak and using the 2.12 radio (on the TMOUS HD2), I've been getting pretty decent battery life, somewhere around ~60% after moderate use over 12 hours. The Wi-fi works flawless as it can connect to both secure and open networks. Phone and SMS works as usual and the zune integration is such a nice feature. Get an activation from M$ to start using all live features.
I haven't switched to other roms, although at least 4 have popped up this week, because there simply isn't a way to backup/restore SMS and other apps after flashing a rom. For you, you should check out the other ones but for now, I'll stick to Football's rom. No problems for me
I've tried a couple roms, but to be honest, they're all pretty much the same. There's not much to be changed in wp7 yet, and all the custom roms have the same tweaks and fixes done to them. The only one that seems a little different is XBoxmod's rom, as he does some changes to the icons, so I've been sticking with his rom because he seems to know more about the inner workings and tweaks for wp7. He also has a stock version available.
I don't really see the point of all these other people releasing roms that are no different from roms already out except maybe having a different lock screen.... but hopefully as things are learned, the different roms will become more customized.

i agree
Thank you so much guys for your fast and useful response, now I have a clearer view about the WP7 roms for the HD2.
Thanks again .
I've tried quite a few and currently running one (HD7 T3982 or something) which is pretty good, the builtin jailbreak helps as Chevron no longer works on the cpotulla nand...having said that, the original is much faster and to my eyes, has supoerior colours, might be first love syndrome.-)

hi there,
Does someone has an advice for me concerning a good rom?
Here are my most important wishes:
1. 100% stable
2. Good battery life
3. Sense (would be good but no must hav)
4. Gingerbread would be great but froyo works as well
My device: htc hd2 leo eu 512mb
It would be awesome if some of you could help me out. There are just too much roms out there. And I cannot Decide wich to chose.
Your experience would really help me out.
Thanks a lot

My choiсe is TyphooN CyanogenMod 7.
This ROM is really fast and stable.
Battery usage in quiescence is about 4 mA.
But no Sence... For me this isn't problem, becouse I use Spb Shell 3D.
its all about personal preference, some will recommend sense roms some wont
you will not find a gingerbread fully working rom with sense yet, it is still in the developement stages, it is normally best to test out a few different roms and go with your own choices, personally i cant stand none sense roms due to the keyboard
I recommend you to start trying any from the SD. I have started testing americanandroid and I'm very pleased, too stable.
i prefer this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908528
Im still using Darkstones froyosuper ram build that has been discontinued, so it really is each to there, own mate, people can only advise what they like, there isnt a best ROM, there all different, so get downloading lol.
try pongster build CWM7 2.3.4 gingerbread heady honey badger build search it here, follow the video, its easy some other builds are confusing and no support at all, he has also online support, i got tmobile, all mms works, fast and good battery life. good luck.
