I'm trying to download battlleheart from the market but it doesn't download. Instead it gets stuck in a download loop, I can click to install the app as many times as I like and it will add another download
At the minute I've got 4 battle heart apks trying to download and I can't stop them. I've tried stopping the market and clearing its data however it isn't working.
Does anyone know a fix? Its draining my battery like mad
I"m not a pro but I'd say go to settings>applications> choose the market app>stop + clear cache.
Edited to add you can try clearing "DMClient" also...that's the download mgr.

I'm having a problem downloading and updating apps from the Android Market. As soon as the download is complete and the phone tries to install the Android Market force closes. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? My N1 is rooted and running CM 5.0.6.

Go to settings>applications>manage applications>market then clear cache and uninstall updates.
Come back to home screen then go into market, accept the T&C's and download your stuff.

Thanks man it worked. The only thing is that I have to do it every so often. It also takes a lomg time for anything to show up (i.e. searches, downloads, and just browsing)
Thanks
Worked for me too
Thanko you!
Finaly!
I didn't need to uninstall updates. I fixed this by just clearing the data in the application. But yes, if an application hangs at install it seems to screw up the Market app.
Mhhh. Yesterday had an app (Volume) that was stuck on installing an app ... for hours.
Thanks! Fixed my issue.
Thanks, worked great

Am I missing something? When I goto settings>applications>manage applications>market I can clear data and clear cache but I can't uninstall anything.
I cleared both the cache and data but once I except the terms of service it FC again. And I still have the issue with FC after every install or uninstall.
Anyone care to chime in here? I'm still having issues with the market crashing even after clearing data and cache.
Also I notice the market will crash after I set my USB connection type to data (connect to the computer).
WTF!? i have tried partitioning/formating the sd card and reinstalling cm6.1.1 and everytime i login to my google account and go to the market IT ALWAYS CRASHES! i dont have anything but 2 purchased apps that are not installed. clearing data and such does not help. even tried to reinstall cm6.1.1 with and without hdpa gapps but the problem is still there. i have flashed roms countless times and this is a first. makes me want to get a blackberry now.
Worked, but now I have the old version. Does it upgrade itself?
I've installed new rom and when market updates it crashes. I did wipe chace, unistal update and yes it works. I get back my old market. But after few minutes it updates itself to new one and I'm back at the begining.

Where is your Market update installing to - /data or /system?
Sorry but I'm new here. How can I see where updates are? Do I need to go to recovery and find market folder somewhere in -data or -system?
You can use a file browser and look in /system/app and /data/app to see if the Market is there - however, a better option is to use Titanium and use the batch options to "Integrate updates of system apps in ROM".
Once the Market is back in the /system it should behave a lot better...
-data/app folder is empty. I found Marketupdater.apk in -system/app. I'll try this Titanium and report back how are things.
Ok I've fixed it. You just need to select english language in settings and it dosn't crashes anymore.
PS: Sorry for bad english.

This is the solution for most market FC issues. Someone should pin this.
I went to check my downloads in the market to see if there were any updates and all that was in there were my paid apps, none of the freeones were in there. Has anyone else experienced this or know of a fix?

i have the same problem this didnt work. anyone else have other suggestions?? thank you
Two things to try, either should fix it, if not, try the other.
1.) Try downloading a new app that you haven't already downloaded, and install it, thru the market as usual. After it's installed, check your download list. A few seconds later, the download list should parse and your missing apps should appear
2.) In the Pro version of Titanium Backup, hit your menu button, choose More, and than Market Doctor.
I just got my Dell Streak today and all I've done so far is root it using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997581
I can't install any apps, it'll ask for permissions and act like it's starting to download but then it goes into "pause" mode and doesn't install or download.
Any ideas?
If I understand you correctly, it starts to download, and actually says "Starting Download" but then doesn't download?
My solution to the problem was to delete the Market cache (Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, select "All" tab, then Market>Clear Cache) and then run Market again. This worked, but a side effect was that I had to install each app manually. No big deal...at least it worked.
Yep, exactly! Thanks, I'll try it!

One more thing to try if the App is hanging when downloading
Go out of the market
Start up GOGGLE VOICE and sign out of Goggle Voice and do it again start it up and sign out
Go back into the market go to the app that is trying to download and cancel it then click install again and it will download.
I cannot remember why Voice interferes with the market but goggle knows about it and that fix came from there website
Hope that helps
Hi all,
I was trying to install AccuWeather for Honeycomb and it's stuck at download.
I can no longer able to install any additional apps successfully (everything was working fine before I tried to download this app).
Killed Market services, reboot did not get rid of this continue AccuWeather download stuckiness.
I have CWM3.1.0.1 mod by solarnz installed with Primordial 3.1 rooted
Not sure if ths is the solution, but some have had luck with clear data for DMClient, Download Manager, Downloads (in Running Services view).

Hi,
The download stuck over night, definitely should not take that long.
Also, I should be able to download and install additional apps in parallel. In my case, additional apps completed download, but always installed unsuccessfully.
Any way, clear cache and force close of Download and Download Manager got rid of this problem.
Some thing is not quite right about my TF and Accuweather for honeycomb app - I tried it again today and it sure stuck again
I can't install it either, and I get the same thing with Pinball HD, I'm thinking it has something to do with the large size of the app.
That is my conclusion as well. I am having the same issue with Accuweather, Pinball HD, and Battleheart. I've tried the various fixes out there: The GTalk sign in method, symlinking the market cache directory to a directory on the SD card. All to no avail. Anyone have any other cogent ideas? I'd really like to be able to use these apps since I paid for them and all (ok, not Accuweather).
I'm on a rooted transformer with primordial 3.1,
I keep trying to install samurai vengeance 2 but it keeps hanging up and restarting the download. It doesn't install yet there's an icon at the bottom left of my transformer that tells me it's downloading even though it isn't (the icon has been there for days).
I also tried to install adfree but it doesn't do anything except show up in my "not installed " section of my market apps.
Has this happened to anyone else before? I've tried clearing the download manager and emptying out the market app too but to no avail. it just ends up doing the same thing if i try to install it again
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all,
-Cedric
Tried to clear cache and clear dalvik cache as well?
I had some app install problems after rooting, and your description of the adfree app is exactly what was happening with mine. This worked for me so it's worth a shot:
1) Install Titanium Backup (TI)
2) Within TI click the "Backup/Restore" button at the top
3) Find the Samurai Vengence app in the list and click it
4) Click uninstall and then delete
5) Find "Market" and "My Apps" in the list and clear the data for both of them
6) Leave TI and go back to the market and try the install again
You can repeat step 3 for any other apps that won't install.
Thanks for the reply! Installing titanium backup right now and giving it a try.
Hmm well after I updated to Prime 1.4 I was able to get adfree to install which is great but I still can't get samurai vengeance to install. It keeps hanging at the "downloading" stage (has the green bar that's showing it's about to download) and also it doesn't show up in my titanium backup because it's not officially "installed" on my device yet.
Are there any other options? I've tried emailing the developers but it's been a few days and I still haven't heard from them.
You could always try going to manage applications then for each of these click clear data;
Market
Market Updater
Not sure how connected CMClient is but you could try clearing that too if the other two don't change anything I know that when I was getting OTA upgrade after rooting to primordial 3.1 clearing that sorted that so it might control other download processes?

I've tried that multiple times and I did it again last night before I slept. I just woke up and tried installing samurai vengeance again and it actually started downloading!! I'm not sure what caused it to not download in the first place but I'm glad it worked itself out. I'll just assume it just took a couple days to verify that I actually had paid for it.
Thanks for everyone that replied!!
