Has anyone gotten Faceniff working on their phone?
What is that?

From what i understand, and I read this on Engadget, it allows you to basically steal other people's Facebook username and password, along with Twitter and Youtube. You have to be on the same network as the other person, ie like at Starbucks over Wifi. It supposedly will work even with the 3 most common encryption codes (i forget what they are at the moment, but i think WEP, WAP and WAPk2, or whatever it is...lol). You can only use it if you are rooted, and the app was supposed to be in the market, although i can't find it...
Petty much firesheep for Android phones
Come on Logan, you have been around since the beginning of everything.... You should know that something like this definitely isn't allowed =P

There are a few apps that I would like to see in the future. But I would like to know wheres an effective place to request apps and developers review and consider? (If there is an avenue that does exist that is.)

Browser Login Utility
Hi,
I was using an app called Open Wifi Login before.
it was able to submit to (including hidden fields) browser login pages regardless of the validity of SSL Certificates (accepts all certificates).
it was disabled in v1.5 by the developers and replaced as a paid app now.
unfortunately paid apps are not supported in my country.
also, i was only able to install it via appbrain before, which is also disabled now.
another app like it exists, Wifi Browser Login, but it doesn't support accepting all certificates. i'm still unable to access the free wifi available in here including from work and some malls.
maybe anyone could provide the apk for the earlier versions of it... v1.3 or v1.4?
or maybe someone could develop a free app like it?
i think it is a very useful tool to have.
Thanks.

I have not really done too much troubleshooting on this but I noticed apps like Network Counter and TrafficInfo show keyboards like swype and 1 or 2 others as xmitting traffic out. Thougt someone more familiar with how droid reads net data might know why. I dont think either net app is malfunctioning nor the keyboard apps so it might simply be a bug.
Only tested on a gtab btw.

I guess I should have titled this "is swype swyping your data?" Lol

If your tethering in GB you will be monitored, so make sure your paying for the service. They have embedded software into GB system to monitor tethering. This was done by all Providers! This has been verified!
Thank you sir

Really verified? I don't think so. Name one person whos contract has been canceled. I use the nvram hack on Gb and it works fine. Havnt heard from Verizon.

Yes if you tether with gingerbread Verizon with show up at your house and kill you. It has been proven on a forum that it will happen so I read on the internet so it must be true...
Really, until you get something from Verizon saying they are tracking you and bla bla bull crap don't worry about the retards who keep beating the whole sky is falling tether crap. With noon more to go off of then that damn p3 article. NOTHING in that dumb ass post has been verified.
That said before you start Barnacle use titanium backup to freeze your notification bar and then it should work.
Also pdanet needs a usb to work (last time I checked) and the free version wont let you go to https sites (again it has been a while since I looked into this app so it may have changed)

Let me clarify something for everyone here. A contact of mine has looked into the issue. When you use the 3g hotspot, in the code, there is a value that is set to 0. It is believed that this is how they can track you. However NOBODY has lost service or had any adverse effects as of now. However, this is ONLY present if you use the stock 3g hotspot. As with anything, do it at your own risk, there almost certainly will NOT be a problem.

What is the name of the app to freeze?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I can most of the time using the TBH patcher and wifi heather. Its about how gingerbread handles/reports data sessions, meaning its different then froyo so it doesn't report teather apps as an internal data session, instead saying it is an external data sessions, thus redirecting to Verizon's weboage.
But if you can get teather running, there is no more or less risk than before on froyo, its the same possibilities.
Sent from my Xoom the way it should be, rooted and with SD card.

Cant find notification bar in in titanium backup ...
Im am on the rooted .588 GB and have the TBH patch installed and use the Hotspot app to tether. At first I could not get it to connect half the time and the other half when it did connect seemed to suffer DNS related issues or drop connection.
I ended up adding my MAC address in the native app for authorized connections and have had ZERO issues ever since.
Does anyone know is the TBH patche is out there somewhere still available for download? By the time I got a hold of it the whole Internet was going crazy over the tethering thing. I would like to be able to tether with GB. Don't wan a have to go back down to froyo.

What's weird is, I thought if you Full SBF'd you'd have to re-patch the NVRAM for the onboard tether app to work again, but I didn't have to re-patch it and it works...
Nevermind, stupid browser cache confusing me...
You can google and find it also

i am looking for an app that will capture WIFI activity from my own wifi network. It is password protected and I connect to it. I would like to monitor all other Laptops, cell phones..etc that use my network.
And would it be possible to read the http URL's and capture key stokes or User ID and Passwords if they log into a site (i.e Gmail)?
Thanks
You wont be able to sniff out Gmail passwords or any sites where passwords are sent via HTTPS. Just for the reason you state.

If you're trying to sniff out your kid's emails why don't you just talk to them instead?
And why is this in the Vibrant forums?
There might be an app for your computer, i don't think there's one for android.

Or hes using an open, security-less, MobileAP at a coffee shop and trying to steal other peoples stuff when they log onto his network
if I have a neighbor who have a wireless connection but not secured. Am I allowed to use it?

I just opened up my browser today and I'm getting pop up ads on the bottom left corner now on almost all websites. I haven't installed anything new for at least a week. Anyone else have issues like this?
nope, but I use ad free
I am convinced that it has to be something to do with software installed because the size of the pop up is the same on all web pages. It is ads for dating web sites, the built in pop up blocked doesn't seem to block it aned I'm not sure that Norton is designed to, but it isn't blocking either. I guess I will have to uninstall some apps to see if there is one causing the pop ups.
It's abnormal to have ads in browser, but show in parameters if if you have no popup check.
