Free Upload Space for All (unlimited space/bandwidth)

I've changed the way the site works. It's no longer a repository, instead it's a public uploads section... Anyone can upload anything up to 194MB in size.
Disclaimer: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU UPLOAD!
There are 3 different ways to upload files:
#1 - As anonymous (no registration needed)
#2 - (Registered) Using Form so it has your name on it.
#3 - (Registered) Using the forums
You can not link directly to the file (I have hotlink protection enabled) But you can link to the file's download page.
The site has Unlimited Space for uploads and Unlimited Bandwidth.
Special Requests
I am open to any requests you might have. If you want your own page on the site, etc. I get really bored so if you want something in particular just let me know and I'll make it for you.
Again uploads can only be 194MB in size and I am not responsible for what you upload.
Public Uploads show up here: http://www.myhangoutonline.com/downloads/category/public-uploads
sounds like a minor warez build up of aptoid
yea, not accepting aptoidism... lol
I fixed the "My Articles" System. Besides your own Repository, regular Members can now post articles like the ones I've posted. You can write your own section tutorials/articles, etc.
Can I put a system.img for the emulator so people can help me test things?
I've changed the way the uploads work. I now let anyone upload whatever they want up to 194MB in size... All uploads show up here: http://www.myhangoutonline.com/downloads/category/public-uploads
If you want to upload something, there are 2 ways of doing it... You can register on the site (free) so whatever you upload has your name on it, you can upload something in the forums OR you can uploads as anonymous by using this form: http://www.myhangoutonline.com/upload-a-file
If you want something in particular I'm open to any requests... you can just PM me here or on my site. Tell me what you want and i'll make it for you, even your own page on the site.

bringing fast downloads and order to android

I know this is probably totally off-topic and no one may care, but I know that in my own endeavors to modify my nook color and my droid x, I have had numerous times where information was very difficult to find. When I went to reflash my droid x, I spent 30 minutes searching for sbf_flash for Ubuntu! I'm attemptiong to create a website that will be run by regular people, like me. Some people who are passionate about each device, who will keep their device's respective page updated with new links, mirrors, etc.. I, myself, am providing mirrors from my dedicated server. So... feel free to visit www.modedited.com I'm working on the DroidX page as we speak, and next to come is Nook Color. Please, test it out. I was downloading gb pre rooted earlier at 8.7 mbps from server.
If you have some time and would like to develop a page for a different device, feel free to contact me! [email protected] OR PM
I've been around, and am currently in the process of moving rdp.modedited.info over to new server.
I believe that this can be a huge success in that each device has it's own page, with mirrors hosted right on the server (100 mbps port speed), each device page will be updated by someone who owns that device and knows how to organize the information so that others can get to it. Pages will also be optimized to display excellently on a mobile device. The device's "editor" will be compensated in that on "his/her" page they will be able to use Google ads or other ad providor on their page.

[APP] Paste It, pastebin alternative

You probably know pastebin already. It’s a free service to paste logs, code and other texts easily.
We as Team BlueRidge wanted something similar which runs on our own server.
Thats why we’re now running Stikked on the paste.teamblueridge.org subdomain.
To make it easier for Android users to paste text, we created Paste It. For now you can set your name and the domain, but we will add more features in future.
Of course this project is open source, so check the code here. If you got anything to contribute (like translations), please use gerrit code review.
Want to report a bug or feature, please fill in all details here. Thanks in advance.
Don't worry if you don't trust our server. The app allows you to change domains, so any site with Stikked installed can be used.
May I recreate a new icon re-design for you? Let me know
Works fine btw ^_^
New Play Store URL: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.teamblueridge.pasteitapp
We had an issue with our app that caused us to need to completely republish. We apologize for any inconvenience. I hope my resurrecting a dead thread is forgivable, as we are re-announcing our "new" app. The same links apply for viewing the code or contributing to the code.
Features:
Paste to any Stikked site from your phone
Select a file to upload from your device
Material-inspired design
Select a language for code-highlighting once it reaches the server (including Logcat if the server supports it)

Android: Unlock application's additional features with Facebook share or tweet

I have a free application published on Google Play. I want to add some new features and ask users to 'pay' for them with Facebook shares or tweets.
Scenario:
1. User updates application
2. New features are available in settings but they are not active
3. To activate feature user has to share information about my application on FB or on Tweeter
4. Only if sharing was successful feature will be available to the user.
For me it seems like a good idea to spread information about application in social media... however I can't find any 'out of the box' solution (library or code). Is there any?
Has anybody tried this approach and was it successful?
Also I'm trying to find out if this method is compliant with Google Play policy. I've read play.google.com/about/developer-content-policy.html with great care but I didn't find any clues. Has anyone got any policy violations emails from Google after implementing this method?
Maybe you can find something in the Facebook API.

What do you use to code? There's tons of assets for Unity that'd do what you're trying to do.

I'm not using Unity but develop my app in 'pure' Android SDK.
Just found this library: http://www.codeproject.com/Tips/457153/How-to-integrate-Facebook-Twitter-Linkedin-in-Andr
It looks promising so I'll give it a try.
You mean reward users for posting on Facebook or any social share, sure I dont think its that hard,
just everytime a user presses on the Share button add some coins to him ingame, you can also make
alot of money if you reward useres for watching a video ad in your game like a Vungle ad.

Apk mirror websites prevention

Hello everyone! I have a somewhat broad question(s) that I have some concerns about.
A recent search on the web revealed that many, if not all, of my apps published on Google Play are also being hosted on many, many apk mirror websites (such as ApkMania.com, or something like that along with PAGES of others). I like to stictly stick to Google Play for the distribution of my apps, and have not opted-in to distributing with 3rd parties, nor sharing my apps with anyone other than Google Play.
So my concerns/questions begin:
1) all of my apps are free, but have ads included in them so I can make a tiny bit of money from my hard work. Is it possible, or even more specifically, likely that my apps are being "hacked" or reverse-engineered to change the developer advertisement ID in which someone else would be getting revenue for my work? My apps are obfuscated so I'm sure it wouldn't be easy, but definitely not impossible.
2) I will begin checking the installer package name of my apps to make sure it is downloaded from Google Play. If it hasn't been, then the app(s) will show a dialog informing the user to download from Google Play, and close the app. Is there anything more that I can do to prevent this unwanted hosting?
3) Besides the above-mentioned, is there anything else I should be worried about?
I apologize if this is in the wrong section or is something I shouldn't be too concerned about, but I want my apps to ONLY be distributed through Google Play and was pretty frustrated when I found out that there were so many websites hosting my app. They would let you download directly from their website. If they redirected to Google Play, sure no problem. This is not the case :/
I would be much more concerned it these apps weren't free. I know this kind of stuff is bound to happen, but I would like to prevent/minimize it as much as possible.
Thank you for reading and your time. Any and all insight is appreciated. Cheers!
I haven't published an app yet and hopefully will publish one next month..
It is scary to read your experience.. do share anything you come across to minimize these things you have mentioned.. ( I would too if I see any article on this)

can you give a code example to do this?

I currently have 5 apps on the market (1st one was published in 2012) and have been learning on my own for about 4-5 years now, and just realized this unwanted hosting. It is a bit frightening in a way, but others have told me its "free hosting/marketing". I disagree since I opted out of 3rd party distribution. I know this stuff happens as with any other kind of digital goods though.
I am about to make a dialog class that will be easily put into any application that will do the above-mentioned (instruct the user to download from Google Play and close application) and will provide it here when it is complete It should be done in an hour or so, or at latest, tomorrow about the same time if I run into problems for some reason.
I wouldn't worry too much, just make sure you use proguard to obfuscate your code. There is documentation on the android developer website if you have questions about that. When/if you publish your app on Google Play, also opt-out of 3rd party marketing/distribution (if you so desire, it is with Google affiliates).
I'll post here again soon. Until then, happy coding!
Alright, it took a little longer than I anticipated, but this is satisfactory for my needs, simple yet effective.
@ASIC SP in your main activity, or Launcher activity (the one that starts when the application is opened)
Code:
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
final PackageManager pckManager = getPackageManager();
ApplicationInfo appInfo = null;
try {
appInfo = pckManager.getApplicationInfo(getPackageName(), 0);
} catch (PackageManager.NameNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
// Check if your app was installed by Google Play
if (!"com.android.vending".equals(pckManager.getInstallerPackageName(appInfo.packageName))) {
//App was not installed by Google Play
// Create TextView with link
final TextView tvMessage = new TextView(this);
tvMessage.setText(R.string.dialog_message);
tvMessage.setMovementMethod(LinkMovementMethod.getInstance());
tvMessage.setGravity(Gravity.CENTER);
final AlertDialog alertDialog = new AlertDialog.Builder(this)
.setPositiveButton("OK", new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() {
@Override
public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int which) {
//Finish/close the activity when dialog is closed
finish();
}
})
.setTitle(getResources().getString(R.string.dialog_title))
.setView(tvMessage)
.create();
alertDialog.show();
} else {
//Do your normal stuff...
}
So this shows a dialog when the app is opened if the app was NOT installed by Google Play. I set the view of the dialog to a TextView because I have a link in the string resource that directs the user to the google play download page. The string resources i threw in there are as such:
Code:
<!-- Illegal download dialog -->
<string name="dialog_title">Illegal Download...</string>
<string name="dialog_message">This app was not downloaded from the Developer\'s desired distributor. Please download the correct application here</string>
Not really illegal, but at least it will get the user's attention
You will of course need to change this to your application's package name "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=<your package name here>"
There are prettier ways of doing this, but this is a quick fix for me. Hope you can get some use of this, and anyone else are free to use this if they desire.
Happy Coding!
thanks
I suppose you can share it on github (that is what I see everyone doing when they have code stuff to share)

Yeah but that's usually for entire projects though, this is only a few lines of code
I plan on making a dialog class out of it so it is easier to import to my other projects later on, so I may do it then.
Until I figure out why this happened and if its potentially harmful, I'm adding this to every app I publish. Good luck on your apps!
