Kernel and Gingerbread rom - Droid 2 General

Why can't you use a froyo kernel on the droid 2 two to build a 2.3 rom?
Because android 2.2 isn't to far off from 2.3
Is it because we would need to sign the rom with the 1024 bit bootloader key Moto has hidden from us... Idk

in need of rom

hey guys quick question i have been searching for a while now for a stock 2.1 rom for the droid x does any one know where i can get one
Did you flash froyo and want to revert?
If so use the SBF.

If you are talking about a stock 2.1 rom from google, this is not possible on the Droid X atm. If you mean the stock moto 2.1 rom, then the SBF file is the way to go.

[Q] ROMS built off of 2.2??

Just wondering if any of the ROMS that have been built for the MyTouch 4g are based off of 2.2. Or am I just that much of a noob?
Thanks in advance!
other than CM7 and Gingerbaked which are both 2.3 they are all 2.2.1 or FroYo ROMs
Ok but are they built off of 2.2 or 2.1?

Fastest D2 Rom availible?

Hello,
I would like to know what the fastest or newest rom is for the Droid 2. Could you also point me to a list of all Roms compatible with the D2?
Thanks!!

D2 roms are all based on the same system, except tanzanite, which has the most potential but is discontinued, and at this point not very capable. The stock gb leak is at this point my personal favorite.

What made this tanzanite rom different?
Try the apex 2.0 beta. It can be found at www.fabdroid.com
I would recommend Liberty GB. Super fast and super smooth.

[Q] Cyanogen Mod 7.2 Installation - Droid X

The release of CM7.2 seems to have gone unnoticed in the Droid X community. The code name for the Droid X "Shadow" has a release: download[DOT]cyanogenmod[DOT]com/?device=shadow&type=
So my question is can the CM7.2 Rom be installed on OTA .605 or do I have to SBF back to the froyo kernel? That was the reason I didn't install CM7. This was because the CM7 Rom was based on the froyo kernel.
It actually hasn't gone unnoticed.
The official version still uses the Froyo kernel; however, you can download an unofficial version over at Rootzwiki that will absolutely fly.
