So how many people are having problems with 3.1 even after doing a factory reset. It seems a reset is solving most issues

Does anyone know if Samsung know about the autobrick bug and if the recent ICS update is going to avoid it?
The last thing I want to do is brick my tab.
three people so far have confirmed that it is not an issue. one said they did NOT factory reset afterwards in case it IS an issue.
i am about to flash and will post when finished
Thanks man
It's a shame that Samsung doesn't address this directly and the community has to
I installed the new ICS FW and made a factory reset after having updated.
I dont had a Problem, the device was not brick.
But i dont know if this can be said in General.
Did Chainfire's brick checker come up as positive on your model before flashing?

I flashed with mobile odin, over rooted stock.
i didnt factory reset, but i chose wipe cache and wipe data in the mobile odin app(all my apps and settings stayed, md5 failed, but everything flashed despite that).
Everything okay, but could someone confirm this kernel has the bug in the kernel of the official ics?
Mine is positive too ... running ICS as I type this.
Hopefully Samsung are being good boys and sorted things out this time after lots of troubles with the Note (same chipset as 7.7):good:
Hello xda community,
Recently, i've updated my GS4 to the android 4.3(Unknown baseband, MJ5) and i have two questions. Is it necessary to perform a factory reset? I've read many times that a factory reset should be done, but honestly i just dont see the point, my GS4 seems to work great.
Secondly, is there a way to see my knox warranty status?
Thanks you for your time
It is highly recommended to wipe it.. But when u flash the official 4.3, it's gonna get resetted anyway by default hehe

It's recommended to do a wipe after installing a ROM, especially when the platform is changing from 4.2 to 4.3, but you can master wipe before flashing the ROM too.

That is simply NOT TRUE.
I upgraded mine from 4.2.2 to 4.3, didn't do a full wipe or factory reset and it works flawlessly. Never had to uninstall anything.
It DOES NOT get reset in any way.
Why do people come here and state absurd lies like that?

Don't know, people here likes to be on the safer side I guess. I personally am against all these wiping stuffs anyway, just don't have the time, but for my peace of mind I always wipe when there's an upgrade, of course I restore my backup later. Well I know some crazy people too who uses the phone only for flashing stuffs and a backup is meaningless to them Lord
Hi guys,
I was wondering, has anyone else noticed that after upgrading to Android 4.4 (I flashed the KRT16S factory image) the charging became much slower?
Anyone has any idea why could that be?
Thanks for your help.

First, try other charger. Try to charge with computer and see how that goes. Then perform wipe of cache, davlik and factory.

I also noticed much slower charging times with the stock charger on 4.4
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
going back to original charger helped a little but it's still slow relatively.
How do I perform wipe of cache, davlik and factory ?
Hi to all!
I would like to share a minor issue that i saw after the update to lollipop 5.0!
Firstly i would like to mention that after the update i did a factory reset and formatted the mcsd card!
The issue is that in Settings>Connections tab, when i scroll up or down it makes a lag.. i did not see it anywhere else yet.. does anyone facing the same issue?
If yes is there a common fix?
Thanking you in advance!

Uninstalling tw.
There is no lag in that area at all! Factory reset? That only resets your settings and stuffs, it is not as same as full wipe. So make a full wipe, flash the 5.0 ROM. If you don't know what is full wipe or master wipe then make a Google Search.
And more importantly, beware from trolls.
Hi
The android system reboots the moment the s pen button has been pushed and it hovers over the s pen menu. Can anyone tell me when will this major problem be fixed ?
Factory reset or flash official stock rom
RE
But is it the new vs of android's fault or is it mine? I wouldn't go back to the initial vs and i think it has began since my latest update samsung made so doesn't someone else been through the same issue?

You can try factory reset. I don't recall reading any SPen problem posts here in XDA except your post, except ofcourse those using Custom Roms where SPen doesn't work.
