Titanium Backup - Droid X General

If i have apps frozen and go to create a backup does it backup the frozen crap? Will it effect my phonr if i go to restore afyer i do a wipe?

The apps you froze are system apps. If they were data you could unistall them without root. Wiping data does not touch the system portion of your phone. Your frozen apps will still be there and frozen after a wipe

titanium wont restore apps after rooting

I have been on stock un-rooted rom until just a few minutes ago. I used the idiots guide, backed up my apps with titanium donated version, and installed damagecontrol 3.1.2 with full nand unclock.
Anyways, installed titanium again on the new rom, updated busybox just to be sure, and went to do a bath restore of all missing apps + data. It shows 31 apps, i start the restore and it cycles through to 100% and then says complete.
well, I go into app drawer and none of those apps are there. I tried to reboot just to make sure, still nothing..
Any ideas of why they wont restore?
Did you reboot after the titanium restore? Some of my data didn't show up until after I rebooted.
Yes I rebooted several times. I even did another wipe with new Rom install just to be sure. Still didn't work. Installed apps manually and tried to restore app data and even that didn't work

Advanced restore in CWM - how reliable?

If after flashing a ROM in CWM (3.1.0.1) I restore data from a nandroid backup, is that usually a process that goes smoothly or will I be better off down the road if I restore any unique data in a more traditional way? What have your experiences with this process? I'm talking about a Froyo to GB update, of course. Does this method really just bring back apps, their data and settings? How far does it go?
I use advanced restore data all the time now that the old scripts are not working for me when flashing a new ROM. 100 % success rate. If you have issues then try Titanium for only what you absolutely have to have.
I had a nightmare going from ec05 to ei22 with persistent boot loops. CWM data restore, Titanium Backup, and MyBackup Pro all had the same issue... it ended up being a problematic app (or more). I restored my user apps in about 9 stages and I have about a dozen apps left, which, when restored, causes a boot loop.
When moving from major Android versions, I suggest doing Titanium Backup for must-have user apps/data, nothing system related, and restore other apps manually or through the market.
CWM data restore extracts the corresponding backup image to the data partitions and .andoidsecure (sp?) directory on your SD card.
Sounds like I should be careful. Thanks. Lucky for me I'm on the conservative side when it comes to how many apps and what's in them.

[Q] Factory Reset Q's

My tpt has been acting a little flaky. So, I am thinking a factory reset is in order. But, I don't want to have to set everything up again from scratch. So, I was wondering what would be the best way to backup apps and homescreen config data?
I've done a Titanium Backup of all user apps and system data. But, I'm worried that restoring system data might bring back whatever is causing my current flakiness.
Also, if the factory reset destroys all data on the TPT, how do I save the Titanium data for restoration? Can I copy the Titanium Backup folder to an SD or PC, and restore from there after reset?
Should I temporarily unroot using RK before reset?
I assume I will have to download and re-install RK, TB, and SU after reset. I'm just worried that if my current issue of the Play Store not being able to DL apps isn't fixed by the reset, I'll be screwed.
TIA

System apps crashing. Battery being drained by "android OS"

Ok folks. I REALLYYY need help. my fone wasnt rooted or anything. id updated my s4 to 4.4.2 and thats when problms strtd hppng,
ALL the system apps started to crash. gallery youtube google play services settings etc etc. I tried a hard reset as well as a soft reset but to no use. and the battery drain was just HORRIBLE all of it being consumed by android OS. then i rooted my fone and put MIUI rom. i cleared the dalvik cache and all bfre doing it. after the fone started the system apps were STILL crashing and the battery drain was the sameeee and by the android OS itself. Then I flashed another unofficial cyanogenmod 4.4.4 and the same problm persists.
helppppp !
Seems you have to do a "clean install".
Backup your apps/data using a good backup tool. I use Titanium Backup.
Take a look here: [Guide] Noobs guide to use Titanium Backup for backup and restore of apps.
Then go to recovery, wipe data and install a new rom.
Restore your apps/data and the phone should be back to normal.
If you decide to use Titanium, DO NOT restore system apps or system data. It is only ok to restore XML backups. I only restore XML for messages, call log and wifi accounts.
But i dont have any app or data that i want to restore.
And i had already wiped the memory and evrythng and THEN installed the rom. But i still have those apps crashing. :/

Wiping my phone and restoring data.

My battery has been draining a bit quicker than normal and I wanted to wipe my phone. I backed everything up with the OnePlus Switch app but im thinking once I wipe the phone that backed up data will also be erased...
When I had my Pixel phones Google backed everything up in the cloud. Will I be able to restore my phone with any type of cloud back up?
I am not rooted.

save the back up to your pc, and when you restore the phone, move the backup to the phone and restore it that way..use the restore app that one plus has on the phone..
