Hi guys,
I just installed (using xRecovery) Floyo 0.20 in my X8 but I'm getting an error that says: The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. This only happens when my SIM is on the phone, if i remove it or if i enable the airplane mode then all works fine.
Right after I turn on my phone and unlock Android screen, I see my provider's name on the top bar with all the bars in reception quality, but after a few seconds it starts with this error, and even if I press stop or close button, the same error message appears shortly after (3 seconds, or so) in an infinite loop.
What can I do?
I really like Froyo and everything else seems to be working quite nice.
Thanks.
Cheers.
PS: Dunno if it helps, but I live in Argentina and my provider is Claro AR.
Edit: more data:
Model number: X8
Android Version: 2.2.1
Baseband version: ends with 53404015
Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
Mod version: Floyo by Racht
Build number: 0.20
It's very simple to solve
Reboot the phone and start xRecovery, go to advanced options and select "Fix permissions"
Try it! And post a feedback...
Thanks for answering, but it didn't work
Do you tried another ROM?
Maybe it's a bug w/ your SIM card and ROM incompatibilies...
I've just tried with another SIM card and it worked like charm!.
Only difference between these two SIM cards is that the one that doesn't work says 32K in the back, and the other one says 128K. Both are from the same provider.
Any ideas while I wait for a new SIM from my provider?
Thanks!
Wait you new SIM card is a good idea
Change the ROM, and test your old SIM card!
Good idea. I'm already downloading FroyoBread v009 to test it. Regards.
Edit:
Ok, FroyoBread is now installed but the issue remains. Although both SIM were working perfectly fine with Android 2.1.

My unrooted unmoded Legend got updated twice today. First update was some wifi performance fix and then the second one (Froyo) did not have much description.
After update, it was getting stuck at "loading" after booting. "Process com.android.phone is not responding" started poping up.
Did a hard reset. Now it displays "No SIM card in phone. Please insert a SIM card." Tried three different SIMs. Same message..
Can someone help me short of sending it back to retailer. Does anyone else have the same problem?

I'm not a pro, but I had the same problem, try to run the phone wihtout simcard after hard reset, it should run you thru the first settings, after you do them, turn the phone off and put the sim back in. That Helped me... but as of this moment I'm thinkin of downgrading, the froyo for legend is a mess, nothing really works, com.android.settings keeps crashing and I have huge reception lossses all the time ... people can't even call me
Hello,
First of all,
- I'm on Imilka's GB vivo (ported from mdj vivo for des hd)
- I'm using radio 2.15.50.14
- I live in the netherlands
- My network provider is KPN Hi (no data plan, only using Wi-Fi)
Yes, I've searched for this problem already, found 2 different threads, both with (more or less) the same problem, both without solution, so I thought "let's try this again"
two days ago, I took my phone and started to play some games, listen to music etc. just like I do normally, but then I got a pop-up saying "no service". I tried to connect to my network in settings, but then it said my sim-card didn't allow my to connect to KPN. I tried different roms (all android nand) and radios, but without succes. Yesterday I tried putting winmo on it again, then it worked. SD android also worked for some reason. Well I really want Android, and I really love those sense 3.0 parts like lockscreen and rosie, and I definitely want gingerbread sense, but there aren't any of those SD builds.
Do I really have to go back to winmo with a SD build?
Thanks in advance!
You can try this:
go to Dialer and press: *#*#4636#*#*
Then go to Phone infomation, select: WCDMA preferred
press Refresh than Update and Toggle DNS check (0.0.0.0 allowed)
reboot
Doesn't work either

Do you have a rom that did work? if so you can try this:
Extract the libhtc_ril.so and the libril.so and replace the ones that you have in the rom and then try again. I would replace it by pushing it into the rom and then reboot, you might need to fix permissions if it doesnt work the first time. Thats what controls the communication between the radio and the cell towers.

Hmm I don't think this will work...
first because I haven't found a working nand so far (only sd) and second because I'm a NAND Android user since it came out, but this is the first time with this problem...
And I've done fix permissions already about 20-30 times =C
I tried putting the SIM card into my sisters phone too, she had full service. The weird part is that I also put my mothers SIM card in my phone earlier, and I had full service, WEIRD. So I thought at first it was my provider's problem, because Vodafone works perfectly good, but then my sister came with her full service...
Still thanks for reply. I hope someone comes with working solution soon...
anyone?
I really need a solution... stuck with wm now. maybe going to wp7
task 29, reflash radio, MAGLDR then android rom? Might help, iunno. xD
I was experiencing the exact same thing as you describe. Unfortunately.....i prob just forgot to renew my contract :S
You were able to call with your sim in another phone??
I already did task29 and its not because of contract because Im on winmo now, and I do have service all the time..
Hi
i got exactly the same Problem. in Android no Service. WMO works well all the Time. if i set to gsm only i got network connection for 1 minute or so. Any hints???
Phil
So, some Progress....
i flashed a RUU to went Back to WMO Stock. -> Wireless Service works well.
next step i installed MAGLDR113 and ClockWork Recovery
Next i flashes this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
Flashed gApps
Reboot
Can't get wireless Service
Phone *#*#4636#*#*
Phoneinformation
GSM Only
DNS check 0.0.0.0 allowed.
Now i got stable Wireless Service Connection. Only 2g but stable till now.
We should gather some Infos to find simularitys between Phones having this Problem:
HTC HD2 LEO EU-Version
Radio: 2.15.50.14
16GB Micro-SD Card 15GB fat32, 1gb ext4 for App2SD
T-Mobile DE
MAGLDR 1.13
Another thing i see on my Phone. If i deactive the PIN-Code and restart the Phone i got network Connection with 3G for about 5 seconds. So it seems there is something which kills the 3g Connection on Boot.
still no solution... anyone else pls?
I have the same problem. Had it with my phone a while back and sent it in for repairs to HTC (for freezing issue). Got another back and it worked fine for awhile. But now I'm getting the temporary no signal issue. Only solution I have found is to turn on airplane mode and turn it off.
Also, I have been able to receive text messages when I have "no signal" but cannot send them.
Running Magldr 1.13, radio 2.15, miui 1.5.27
i've been reading this forum for a while, but
today I ran into a problem I really can't
solve.hoping that
one of you guys could offer some advice.
Here's the deal (I'll try to make it as short
as possible):
I've got an xperia x8, which worked fine
on my previous official stock ROM 2.1.
I installed a custom ROM (froyobread v.12)today and i keep gettn notified that ''com.android.phone'' had
stopped unexpectedly.
I've done everything I can think of, but this
problem persists as long as the current
SIM card is in. After each force close, the error
just repeats itself. Here's what I know:
other SIM card works flawlessly in the
phone with the custom ROM.
The error doesn't occur until it tries to
connect to the cellular network with the current SIM
Neither a soft nor a hard reset does
anything.
As I see it, there are a couple of options:
I think The SIM card is incompatible with the ROM because it works great on my old phone n also works great when i go bact to my original stock ROM 2.1.
If anyone can offer some insight or advice,
I'll very much appreciate it!
Thanks!
Did you try a full wipe? And just btw, I have a something like 10 years old sim card and it runs ok with FroyoBread
This is a known error for all custom ROMs. There are reports from Vietnamese guys saying that with some SIM cards it got FCs.
The only solution is to change SIM card, hopefully it will be compatible with custom ROMs. I don't have any problem like this so I cannot fix it myself.
yh gravier i did all the wipes seems to happen only when i put that particular sim in.
dx exactly what i have in mind, sad part is my operator phased out all the old type of sim and replaced it with this new type which is givin me all dis problems. thanks for d help man n oh great rom
Hi XDA Folks!
Recently (Yesterday) i bought this litle peace of cellphone to my GF and i was trying to upgrade it to Floyo 1.0 (Update July 5,2011). I must tell you that the phone bought was an X8a from Claro Guatemala, it was still running Android 1.6 on it.
What have i done so far? Since i have knowlegde on Android and the SE family of phones (I used to own an X10 a few months ago) i rooted, installed Xrecovery from Flashtool and made a backup of the 1.6 ROM. By mistake i downloaded Android 2.1.1.0.A.6 for E15i and when the phone booted back it asked me to write the SIM NETWORK UNLOCKING CODE and i thought to myself WTF!!! So again i downloaded two more files:
Android 1.6 Claro Chile for X8a
Android 2.1 World for X8a
Flashed Android 1.6 back to the phone and then it was working normally it recognized the SIM and so. Right after that i flashed Android 2.1 for X8a world and again the SIM was recognized and working good. Until here no issues or whatsoever...
Rooted again, Xrecovery Installed and then i moved floyo 1.0 from this thread to /sdcard/xrecovery and then performed the restore to have that ROM up and running...
The phone didn't boot so i flashed Baseband 15 for X8a from Blagus mediafire folder the phone booted again but the SIM is not recognized again it keeps asking for the UNLOCKING CODE....
Do you think i am doing something wrong here?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated...
J!M
Try this
Backup your data and contacts on your PC
Install xRecovery
Boot into XRecovery
Format System, Format Data, Format Cache, Format SDCard
Mount USB from xRecovery copy the Floyo.zip on the sdcard
Unmount USB then Unmount SDCard in xRecovery the mount SDCard back - to refresh the files from the SDCard
Install Custom zip
This way your phone should be clean with only floyo and u can copy back your stuff from the PC.
I had some problems with some data from the SDCard when switching ROMs also if this works dont restore data using google account sometimes data from an older ROM messes up your new one like wireless passwords.
Thanks for the reply i'll try but i think my phone can't use Baseband 15 because whenever i flash baseband 15 my SIM gets network locked. If i revert back to the X8a Global firmware it works again...
I'll do more research and i'll post the results of the steps you advised me..
Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, however i think my phone can't handle baseband 15. Yesterday i downloaded 2.1.1.A.0.6 WORLD and when it boots up it asks for the SIM UNLOCKING CODE, i choose dismiss but the phone doesn't get any network signal.
Weird thing is that it does work using the 2.1 update with baseband 06... Anyone else having this sort of issue? I really want to put at least FROYO on my GF Cellphone but i don't know what else i can do...
Am i doomed and have to deal with the 2.1 update??
J!M
you try using SEUS to flash?... i'm from Chile and my phone's baseband was originaly 06.
Install seus (Sony Ericsson Update Service), and my new baseband is 15 ^^.
Try it...
Or you could update to 2.1 from 1.6 on the phone.
Thanks for the help guys... I give up, i tried flashing Claro Chile 1.6 and then upgrading trough SEUS and the same result. My phone got the 2.1.1.A.0.6 with baseband 15 but it again asks for the SIM unlock network code....
I'll try to take to my career service center to see if they can update it.

Sorry to post on your thread like this, but how do you installed the floyo rom? Theres no update.zip file, just a few ISO files. What am I missing?

SIM network unlocking code is not the same as SIM unlock code. I have a SIM lock code (so that if my phone gets stolen and they shut it down, they can't use my sim card). Sim NETWORK unlock code is the code you need to unlock your phone for any carrier (if I am correct). You should dismiss the 2nd one.
If the first one (lock code) appears and you don't know it or have never set one up, try 1234. If it doesn't work, talk to your carrier.
Hi all. It's been some time but I'm back to playing with my HD2 after a few years away!
I installed CM11 yesterday. I went for the Nativesd option with a Sandisk Ultra, 16gb card. The install went fine but when I put in my Koodo sim (that work's perfectly in my Note 3) into the adapter and popped it into the phone, I couldn't access the network.
The EMEI is fine, shows up and I checked with the online Koodo (I'm in Canada at the moment) that it isn't showing up as blacklisted. I can also see my phone number so I doubt that it's a case of the sim not being seated correctly.
I'm a little rusty on what details you wonderful people would be needing me to provide but I'll pop up a couple...

I've tried a lot of the generic solutions to the "no signal" issues to no avail. Have I missed something when installing the ROM or put something incorrectly?
Thanks for your time.
