Is there any app that simulate the button and brings up the "volume popup"?
..or even better something for honeycomb that stays in the notification bar like the one for luminosity?

Set long press Home key to suspend phone

Hi
Anyone know how to set long press home key to suspend phone?
thanks
I would love to see this too.
In fact, I'm using ADW Launcher and it can bind the home key to do a few different things but unfortunately not suspending the phone. I'm trying to contact the app author now to see if he will add in that feature.
Samsung made a great phone but the casing and button placement is so stupidly designed I don't know what to say. I feel like I'm holding a bar of soap and I can't reach the power button 90% of the time.
What is wrong with pushing the power button?
I would be very happy with a suspend widget or app. Searched the market but only found a reboot/power off widget.
App would be best. I could place that on the bottom menu.

The power button work fine. But the home key is more convenience.

[App] Slider in Notification For Volume

Hi there hd2 users.
i was wondering if there is an app to put a volume slider in the notifications when you slide it down. The reason being is that i remapped my volume up key as power, and volume down as back.
something similar to the image attached.
thank you
none guys?

Change the menu capacitive button in ICS

So, galaxy nexus has 3 on-screen "buttons". The menu button kinda looks like a window with apps, ok that's how I see it anyway. xD
So, wouldn't it be awesome, to have the menu button as the button that shows the running apps?
I believe it's a neat idea. What do you guys think?
So you should've posted this in the thread dedicated to ICS!
I think the menu button should be kept as the menu button And holding the home-button will show a list of running apps. Just like we're used to.
Well, for phones that have hardware buttons, the on-screen buttons won't show up.I don't if that's default behaviour, but it surely is possible and has already been done in all of the SDK ports. So don't worry.
And yes, that's what the menu button will do,open the menu.
Kala filaraki, prepei na gamaei kai na dernei t ICS!
There is a menu software button in every app. So a menu hardware button is useless. So a good idea would be to change it to match the on-screen button in ICS... If not, at least make a flashable .zip file.
Toli, gamane kai dernoune re 'su! Ade na vgei kanena ROM estw kai alpha.
Your actually wrong, with all due respect.
changing the menu button to the task switching button isn't a clever thing to do, as soon as you go into an app that requires the menu Button, (which is every app about) when you press it all you will get is the multitasking button, remember there's no on screen buttons for phones with hardware buttons, noone wants two sets of Buttons?.
Android already has a button for multitasking, its by long pressing the home button.

If it requires the menu button, then how about Galaxy Nexus, which doesn't have a menu button? Lick your brain with your tongue before speaking...

Eee,mesa sth bdomada pisteuw kati 8a bgei!
Anyway, from what I've seen, the menu button on phones with hardware buttons acts like the on screen menu button that apps have.So...

The button with the menu will show up when needed with a swipe I think. Maybe not in phones with hw buttons.

In Honeycomb, for instance, a menu button is shown to support older applications.
Wouldn't be too surprise to see also four buttons in Galaxy Nexus. After all, that's the all idea behind on-screen controls.
There is a settings button guys in every app in ICS... I believe it's an awesome idea. I dont want an on-screen settings button and a hw button.

[Suggest]put the volume up and down buttons in the status bar.

it is very hard when i want to change the volume while in cm7.
so now i call a volume ctrl app while long press "search" button.
but it is still not convenient
so I think it can put the buttons to the status bar.like cm7's tweak .
but i don't know how to achieve it.....
Search for "volume control" from "rubberbigpepper" on the market. This adds a volume slider to the right side of the screen
Edit: I think this belongs in general.

ahhh thanks. this is the perfect volume control

Larger Soft Buttons with CM7?

Is it possible? Something a little bulkier like the size of honeycomb/ics?
Thanks!
Some folks use Button Savior. Free in he market.

interesting thought, larger pngs may or may not work i might look into this.
i also tried button savior when on cm7.
i was randomly loosing my soft buttons when an app would go fullscreen.
i ended up using the cm7 extended settings to add "back" and "home" buttons to my power menu.
Give Zmooth a try, rather than buttons it's a little bar that you use swipe gestures with for Home, Back and Menu buttons.
You can see me using it in this video:
if you have cm7 then this theme makes the buttons nice and big and easy to press
i think this is what u want... just install it and select it under theme chooser
