Great book but your comment was definitely more effective without the link. Lulz at plain ol 42.
If she's 18, then go for it. Don't worry about the calls. Just do it.

Yeah, that's a bug in the phone. Sometimes when you use it, the battery level goes down.
Just kidding, so what is the problem? Do you think the battery level went down too fast? You are gonna have to give us more information. What background tasks do you have running? Widgets on the home screen? Etc.
I run beautiful widget and my home screens are mostly full well three of them ate nvm close this thtred

It would be cool if there is an app that would take a picture from the front facing when the phone is unlocked. so you would know if someone was screwing with your phone..
I really only care because of neatness, not really practicalness.
I'm sure someone has done something like this.?

Wowww, you failed pretty hard right there, son. It was instantly obvious to me that he meant an app that took a snapshot at the moment of unlock as a kind of security snoop measure to track who messes with his phone.
Did I really just type it over again for him...? Ahahaa

Would be cool indeed, if someone took your phone and u found it, bam evidence of who took it.
It would really be cool if you could have it upload the pics to your Dropbox account (or other site of your choice). Could help find who stole the phone much quicker.

i think the tone of his reply was in response to your own smart-ass "magical" camera app comment, so maybe look in the mirror before posting yet another rude comment, eh?
That was because of me not reading it properly, if he had handled it right there would not have been any reason for his tone, if he had said maybe you should read the over instead of being a smartass, I would have handled it better, I admit after seeing the full post yes I came off like a smartass but only because I didn't read the full post. Don't get on my ass though for messing up on something that I thought he said this is between me and him not anyone else. I've made a profile in Tasker that takes pictures when I send a certain text message phrase to my phone. The developer for Tasker says he's working in front-camera support so it's just a matter of time.

I seen a few threads on GPS fixes. I read them and still see some people having issues after applying fixes. I found out something interesting so it's my turn to post a fix for the GPS issue.
Here is what this will fix:
taking a long time to get a fix.
Not being able to keep a fix.
Not accurate data.
GPS consuming more battery then it should.
I can tell every one who is having trouble still right off the bat that they have their TB's overclocked.
I found out something interesting while trying to get from point a to point b a few days ago. All of a sudden I was having all sorts of issue that I never had before. After futzing around to try and find a solution I focused on the only thing different then usual.
I had my TB overclocked to 1.5GHZ when I normally don't go much higher then 1.2GHZ. mostly not to drain the battery.
My unit took several minutes to get a fix, and when it did, if I started moving again,(driving down the road) it completely lost the fix, or it was sporadic at best.
I lowered the clock speed to 1.2ghz. Killed all apps for a fresh start. Started navigate again, and I got a fix in less then 10 seconds. And it held a fix.
I put the clock speed back to 1.5ghz and I lost the fix again. Problems were occurring again.
I was able to get a good fix at 1.3ghz, but it took a tad longer, still under a minute to get a fix, but at 1.2 it works flawlessly.
Apparently the chipsets used for GPS don't like too high of a frequency above normal.
If anyone is having an issue with GPS, lower your cpu to 1.2ghz or lower. Kill all apps. then restart your GPS software.
Hope this helps any one having issues out!
Great theory, and may be true to an extent. I don't oc and today I could not get a lock to save my life. And I was in wide open lake country where a lock should have been instant.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Yea I dont OC at all and Still even with a couple of patches Ive tried, it still dont work right.
My gps has never worked correctly since I got the phone. So interesting theory, but purely circumstantial and unscientific testing. The issue comes about from XTRA code being incomplete in the framework.jar. This is needed for fast locks. Secondly, the radio needs updating. Both are present in a yet unreleased TB ota.
Why you see wildly different results is that eventually, even a standalone gps locks. Fiddling with settings and so forth, you eventually get a lock. Once you have lock and keep it 'warm' with somewhat regular use, you get the illusion of your gps being fixed.

Grr Google ...
So that is probably how my twitter account got hacked.
If the mallware can do all that mentioned in the article then I guess it will have no problem reading saved passwords like Gmail and others
Twitter account got hacked a while after starting to use Galaxy Tab, I am thinking the pass from Android was read by some mallware.
A Skype update mentioned a similar thing and asked to update.
If I remember correctly Android was supposed to allow each application to read/write its in its own area in the device, I guess that only applies to the ... "good-ware" applications, the mall-ware can read all the other data.
On the other hand Google can do a great job when it comes to not letting us see/install all applications because we are from some X country.

As Mulder on the X-Files used to say, “Trust No One”. Not even this site. Use your common sense and check the sources. Can you verify the information? Does the information sound balance and reasonable? Where else can you research this before you do something that cannot be fixed? At the end of the day, you are the last barrier of protection for yourself.

From what i understand malicious apps from the play store can gain root access to your device using this method.
I hope this won't be regarded as spam, but i didn't see anything referring to this topic in this forum. If this thread is unnecessary, delete it.
Well another reason to root your device yourself and use Superuser or SuperSU, so you can control what app wants root access.

It's already insisted by Sammy official fw. But I wonder if official jb will also has, since jb main mem r/w mgmt security feature was array system layout randomization (ASLR) which randomizes all r/w processing in random ram address, so it'll pretty hard to get ramsysdump log access.
And also imo that's not a conspiracy by Sammy. I think they infringed consumer privacy rights by opening this exploits to make their bloatware (Sammy apps) runs smoothly without public confirmation.

lol, I am sorry, but that's a bit too far fetched. Just think about this from the end user's point of view (Not power users like XDA users/ ORB sufferers), the negative publicity Samsung will get (Since this issue is pretty much reported across all sites, whether dedicated to developers or just end user tech sites), will have more far reaching implications than any potential sales they will have from "switchers" from the S2. Further, general users tend to take such warnings where their data is potentially vulnerable very seriously (Even if there is a 0.00001% chance of it happening).
