My icons are still the same size but they are taking up 4 squares on my screen.
They are all doing this I just finnished downloading the PSX emu when I noticed it.
A reboot seems to have fixed this.

Hi all,
I am programming a today plug-in and I need to draw some icons on the screen.
The problem is that when I draw the Icons on the screen, they appear with sharp white edges which does not give the real feel of the icon when viewed on Windows or open in microangelo studio.
Here is a picture, please notice the edges of the icons, note that resco plug-in draws icons with smooth edges. So how can I elimnate this problem??
Query resolution of icons, appropriate use of trasparency on .ico, use of transparent bitblt, whether you need to use png with an alpha trans layer or an artificial smoother on the drawing routine.

Thanks Vijay for the super fast reply,
But I am a begginer in this issue, I see that resco uses png alpha images, but I dont know if I can load png images using LoadImage function.
About Bitblt issue, can you please explain it with a bit more detail?
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks alot
Mohammad
If you want to load a png try SHLoadImageFile, it worked when I tested it just now.
Are you drawing the icons this way (bitblt) to stretch them bigger? If not then why not just use DrawIconEx?
Hi,
I use DrawIcon, ofcourse with no stretching, but still some edges of the icons appear as white.
Now, how to create the alpha image??
Mohammad
Hi guys!
a little quote from xperiancers:
"
games which run in VGA, no longer leave the previous window showing but instead changes part of the screen to a black space."
My prob is that kind: sure - when i run VGA games they dont leave previous window in the "free" area - but the area is WHITE not BLACK - it looks awful.
Anyone knows how can I change the color of free - non WVGA - area while playing games?
Thanks for answers.
Did you try the WVGA fix?
Thanks, it helped
After using the screen rotation cab (found here towards the bottom), I've got a little graphics bug occuring in TouchFlo3D's SMS display.
When viewing horizontally (either with keyboard in or out), there is a thick vertical black bar that appears 'behind' the text. (See attached)
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or can recommend a program besides Gyrator that works well with TouchFlo3D and Opera, at the very least?
dag dude i feel your pain, i had a similar issue when i insatalled a theme, i had issuses veiwing images and when rotating the phone. the only thing that fixed this isusse was to hard reset my tp2, so thats the only advice that i can give to you, here is the link that shows you how to do it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3915157
Hey guys,
I noticed something weird today and was wondering if anybody else had experienced it.
I was viewing wallpapers through my phone's browser and they looked fine. When I saved and applied them, however, they displayed incredibly strangely compared to how they looked in the browser.
The only way to describe it is transitions between colours have lines between them, like contours on a map. This doesn't happen with any of the default wallpapers so for comparison I downloaded our default rainbow wallpaper and when that's applied manually it also has these weird color transition lines. It's pretty ugly.
I tried transferring the wallpaper across from USB and it still had this effect.
Has anybody else experienced this? Everything displays fine in the browser but as soon as it's applied to a wallpaper it goes strange
I do!
sometimes i set a wallpaper and some time after it gets strange, like with some squares on all of the wallpaper.
No such problem. I change wallpapers very often, from various sources.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
I've just found a solution for this on my HD2 running an Incredible S ROM and came across this thread whilst searching for the problem, thought I'd post here in case anybody is interested.
The HD2's screen has a color limitation, whilst the Legend's screen is AMOLED - both panels cause an image display problem known as color banding. As the OP described, it's when gradients appear chunky, "like contours on a map". For an example, see this image.
As I used to own a Legend, I was frustrated with how wallpaper images I applied would look like that - all except the stock HTC wallpapers. That's how I realised the fix for it.
If you're rooted, you can replace one of the standard HTC wallpapers in your ROM.zip's system/customize/resources folder. For example, I had a custom image I always used as my wallpaper that looked crap on my HD2. I replaced HTC_wallpaper_03.jpg in the folder I mentioned and, when applied through the default HTC Wallpaper options available from Sense's home screen menu, the image is dithered and looks perfectly smooth.
So if anybody else wants to smooth out a wallpaper you always use, just place it into your ROM's zip file and it'll be fine.
Hope that helps someone, someday.
Is it just me or 2.2 icon spacing is terrible? Just updated to 2.2 from 1.6 and now I am faced with a row of empty coloum that I can not fit any more icons into.
Not sure what to do? please help?
It is like no matter what I do in dragging the icons across the screen to fill this gap, upon releasing my finger it goes back down in to the vertical coloum of icons.
What I should expect it to do like in 1.6 is to just start filling that big empty huge gap that can easily fit a standard application icons.
BUT NOT THE CASE OF 2.2? what all the hype is this about?
if you want more icons on your screen, you need to use an alternative launcher like launcherpro. i actually jumped ship today and installed it. i found the stage widgets to be a bit of a let down so i was ok with loosing them, and i was worried i wouldnt like launcherpro because i had it before on an old phone and didnt like it, and i didnt like it on my streak till i found the setting that says "auto-fit items: resizes widgets and icons to fit the grid size". its nice, i like it.

It had to be that way to fit in both landscape and portrate, even if you use another launcher and use more icons for portrate eg: 7 rows x 6 columns when to turn to landscape the 7 rows are all to squashed.
It's the same with wallpapers, what fits in portrate doesn't fit in landscape.
It's what you get with a widscreen smartphone.
