I performed the webtop mod but did not root device, as the webtop mod was pretty simple and I have no use for root.
With the new announcment that an update is coming the 29th I would like to revert back to stock so I can obtain this update.
Problem is there are really no clear instructions on doing this.
I am somewhat technically advanced (I rooted and put a custom rom on a g1, but used step by step guides to do so).
I have found many different instructions on rooting and the instructions for returning webtop to stock are layed out for the more advanced users.
Can anyone dumb it down a little and help the novice users like me revert to stock so we can get the update.
Im sure there are a lot of people out there who are in the same boat as myself.
Thanks!

Did you guys find download and install RSD 5.0
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Don't even know what that is.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Go to link I posted download sbf 1.2.6 then download rsd 5.0 if you've connected your phone to your computer and your computer has recgonized the phone then you don't need to worry about the drivers. Once you've installed rsd and downloaded 1.2.6 follow instructions they're super clear and step by step

Can anyone out there give me a link of the tutorial of how to flash stock kernel and rom in odin mode.
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda app-developers app
To flash stock rom via odin
Visit here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21846668
Check 2nd post by sir doky73
To flasj kernel just place kernelxxxx.tar or kernelxxxx.tar.md5 in pda box and flash it...and flashing completed
Globally recognised and certified NOOB
OP, i've seen you create a lot of threads in Q & A. It's okay if you have a lot of questions, but please search first. You opened a thread asking for another thread's link? Are you kidding me?? You could've very well used the search button and found your answer in just a few seconds.
Hope you use the search button next time.

My Thunderbolt received a full OTA update after I unrooted the phone and I was able to get the S-OFF via HTCdev site but I am unable to get root access or install custom recovery. Any idea how I could flash a custom recover to flash a rooted rom?
Current bootloader
I posted a screen shot of my bootloader
Wrong section. This needs to be in q and a.

I noticed it after a while too. I guess the big UNLOCKED got me off track. Still root is needed
htcdev sucks. recovery cannot install kernels.
you need to either:
1)install your boot image with fastboot,
or
2)launch your recovery into memory with the fastboot boot command, then install your rom normally
i personally would try and downgrade back to an older build so you can root via revolutionary. older builds were downgradeable just by changing the main version, hopefully that hasnt changed.
since your unlocked and have a recovery:
-install this superuser to gain root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 (download link reads UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.04.zip)
-you can try changing the main version by flashing this zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23169557&postcount=4 (make sure to thank drellis and con)
-check that the zip worked with the fastboot command fastboot getvar mainver or fastboot getvar all
-if the zip works, relock and,try flashing an ruu that contains hboot 1.04
im out the door to work, but if you need help with the specifics,i can help you later. i believe that should work. if this thread gets moved,PM me a new link
A way to root has been found but the HTC dev method is the only way to unlock the new hboot atm. A way to downgrade is being looked into also. The current downgrade ruu doesn't work with the new hboot either. If you know how to modify the ruu so it can be used for downgrade that would be fantastic.

You cant modify the downgrade ruu.it needs to be stock, and signed. You just need to change the main version.
Try what I suggested above,I'm 99% sure it will work. I can put together some specific directions, but I can't really test since my tb is radio s off.

Are you allready htcdev unlocked?
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda app-developers app
Okay, I admit it, I am confused, despite having flash ROMs for over a year now. What exactly are the steps to get from point A, completely factory stock with the ICS upgrade, to point B, unlocked and rooted so that I can flash a rom? Or am I misunderstanding, and there is no such route at this point? I have the greatest respect for everyone on this site who takes the time to help people out. Thank you very much.

Awsome sauce! glad it worked for you guys. I can do a noob friendly set of directions in the next couple days, and if yall have seen a working temp root, link it to me and we can do a no htcdev unlock version as well.
For those that don't like manual methods, hopefully trter will add dowmgrade to his all in one tool.
Did yall go all the way back to hboot 1.04,or to 1.05?

Thanks for your time.
I believe that trter has a temp root method. He mentioned that he was working with revolutionary to see if we could get an unlock method from them but I think he bricked. Don't quote me on that though.
