HDMI mirroring - Atrix 4G General

I am running gingerblur 4.0 and loving it. Problem I am having is when I play HBO go or something simular it is 90 degrees out. Am I missing something or is there a setting to correct it? And before anyone asks no I am not going to turn my television on its side.

The mirroring app for the Atrix doesn't support landscape mode. I believe people are currently working on this, using the app from the Droid X2.

Thank you very much. I was sure it was me and didn't want to ask.

Hi all
Because i have fewer than 10 posts, i can't post to this thread
so i decided to Post here, hope that a developer read this.
I've just installed the Photon Alien ROM on the Atrix and it works basically (no cam, wifi etc. etc...).
But the great message is that the HDMI mirroring works smooth like hell and in landscape mode, youtube, videos, games how it should to be(the resolution could be better).
So any developer please port this to Atrix!!! this can not be that hard now?

Actually, he's right. It's a matter of separating out the correct files, tweaking a few others, and having HDMI mirroring on the Atrix.

I just downloaded kens photon rom and extracted it , it does not even have a boot img in it. So it is probably a matter of porting the the hdmi apk and its dependencies.

I pretty sure its at a Kernal Level, but it shouldn't be to difficult. Our current kernel contributers, Kholk, Faux, and Edgar, with the collaboration of Ken should be able to figure this out.
Another approach would to work backwards. Take Kens Photon Alien and patch it to make it work for Atrix perfectly

Yes it works great.. Im having trouble porting it to 4.5.91 but i have fixed wifi and cellular data on the photon rom.

Once this gets going is it possible to have an option for mirroring when inserted into lapdock? Sometimes i don't need webtop and the extra ram and performance would be preferable.
I voided my warranty and your mum.

What's so great about Froyo??? IYO

and how about making your phone 3 to 5 times faster!!!

It's much faster for one and more refined than earlier builds. That last past is much more apparent in aosp builds then with sense. And there is WiFi tether. You just have to use the latest apk. And just an FYI, prepare to ne flamed by someone. This type of post belongs in q&a.

I going to go read your thread and try to get some confirmation of this.
You really really can tell the phone is less sluggish. Video-taking is much improved because of this. The speed of which i can snap photos of funny **** my kids are doing is so important to me. They can be doing funny things for half a second and can't stand any lag.
The signal seems improved to me in my area with the new radio flash. so thats good
The phone is just loads better at what it is supposed to do.

I just flashed BakedSnack's rom (Thank you kind sir) and it's scary fast. 47 MFLOPS compared to 7 on 2.1. I just tested the wifi-tethering and it worked seamlessly. I also don't have the FPS capped situation. I'm averaging around 50 at the moment.

EB13 Kernel

There are tv out drivers in the old versions too.
I though maybe there had been. Maybe they can get them working in 2.2.
If you browse on your phone's root to

you'll find several files. Is this the same thing you came across?

I thought the device is hardware limited in the sense that the 3.5mm jack is missing the required connections to do TV-Out?
There are some people over in the dev section who felt there was a good reason to try and get it working.. After looking into the source code a bit deeper, it seems the last changes to any of the driver files (tv-out and hdmi are both mentioned) was in November. So they havent really done much to it recently.

That is correct, but strangely all the backlighting of the buttons etc worked out of the box, buttons it is easy to fix if you want.
Just a little test for fun nothing else, also saw that there was support for mdpi so theoretically it could be working on Hero with some manual intervention.
Another thing to, boot up without problems

Yes but hardly anything is working! Even the Nexus one has no audio, wifi, bluetooth, calls!
Yes, it is foolish to ask for a ROM that's meant to run on tablets to be made for phones. But I never have never said and never will say no to a new ROM...
Sent from my Hero using XDA App
Yes it's going to run like ass and our screens won't do any good either.
But... as always, I'm eager to see what crazy stuff the ROM-people come up with.
but the sdk version includes some feature of switching from tablet to mobile mode by simply changing resolution... they won't have included it if it wasn't meant to be run on mobiles, and in 3.1, mobile (2.x) and tablet (3.0) development lines shall be joined (says wikipedia lol). moreover, lots of people out here said it would be impossible to run 2.2 and 2.3 on hero, and right now i'm looking at my rooted android 2.3 hero which is incredibly smooth and stable (way better than with stock os). so why shouldn't it be possible? ele just said even backlight of the buttons worked out of the box, which was not case in 2.x. i'm still believing in our developers (although i can't code well enough to support them ) and i'm sure they'll do some magic
greets, Summoner
Do you really use wikipedia for truths? Anyone can add to Wiki?!
no i don't... i just think it sounds possible... otherwise, there would be two future development lines which the consequence would be that there were VERY different features depending where more / the better devs work on lol^^
i didn't claim it was the absolute truth, otherwise i wouldn't have explicitly said it came from wiki ...

Looking for devs to help port Xoom 3.1 ROM

Hi guys,
So I have had some recent success doing a semi-port of the Xoom's ROM to the A500. I know most of you are already thinking why bother when PRIMEE is working, but I prefer the Xoom's ROM because it's the closest thing to running stock Honeycomb. Most things are working except for WiFi and misc.
I'm quite short on time and would like to find some other devs to help fix up parts that aren't working.
Please reply to this thread if you can help out.
Thanks!
Just to reiterate that this is a very hackish Honeycomb 3.1 build. If you want something useable, I suggest you check out PRIMEE.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
*Updated* Video recording and playback is now working. Will upload a video later for proof.
*Updated* Video proof here - http://vimeo.com/25120538
*Updated* Just tested 1080p video and it works great.
Here's the link to the partition images for you to try out:
system.img
boot.img
By the way, while you're at it, be sure to check out this ROM's 1080p capabilities with these videos -
http://www.tools4movies.com/2011/03/xoom-720p-1080p-high-quality-settings/
Since there's no microSD mounting yet, just push the videos to /sdcard/ to see the video player in action.
sound great (Y)
Does the xoom have different wifi hardware?
Not that I can tell...the odd thing is that the kernel module loads fine. It just isn't scanning.
I can upload what I've done so far if you guys want to have a poke at it....
Please download links, so we can help to find a fix
Cool, I can upload my backup boot.img and system.img for anyone to try. I don't really have much time to make an update.zip....how does that sound?
This is pretty exciting. Good luck guys.

Currently not having WiFi is the most pressing issue. Other things that need to be done including HDMI output and SDCARD mounting (I'm getting help from the Xoom guys for this). I also believe that GPS is not working.
P.S. I'm uploading the system and boot images now. Should be done in an hour's time. I'll post up the link when it's done.

GPS isn't working, but that should be a simple fix that I can import from PRIMEE. Other than than, microSD isn't working either. That's just the nature of the Xoom ROM. I'll probably implement team Tiamat's workaround for that and we'll see how that goes from there...

The MT4G Slide has the same resolution screen, so no re-scaling is necessary. What scaling issues do you experience in VU? I experience none. There was something small with the Calender widget, but that's been fixed in the latest version.
