ODIN 1 CLICK TO STOCK JF6 BEFORE FLASHING 2.0[/B
Added updated flashable zip to bottom of post which includes some theme updates, apk updates and themes, and some window animations. This post will be hopefully be updated tomorrow with a newer version, and this clockwork flashable .zip should hold off those who waiting on the rom update.
first boot will take a bit.
This is a brand new rom ive been working on for the last few days. Based on newest i9000 froyo release UGJK3 (build date 11/18) and tweaked from there.
-SetiroN 1.5 kernel -user configurable OC up to 1460/default is 1200(go to 1400's at your own risk
-haptic feedback works on ALL buttons
-OC/UV support-voltage control app installed to /data/app
-BLN added and required lights.so lib added to /data/app
-apps and framework deodexed and optimized
-zipaligned
-rooted, busybox and sqlite included
-extended power controls(reboot, recovery, download)
-Captivate dialer, camera, etc. (no video chat references)
-Completely themed with pieces from all of my favorite themes(pics of theme seen HERE
-Fixed build.prop so protected apps can be seen on the market
-Big APN file for instant inernet/mms access
-ad-blocking
-AOSP themed lockscreen
-HSUPA enabled -comes with UGJK3 modem(no need to do anything crazy to get 850 working-this modem works as is)
-this rom will not switch back and forth between H and 3g, the symbol should stay on 3g even if hsupa is enabled and working
-comes with SWYPE, dark Droid X multitouch keyboard, and samsung keyboard
-Launcher Pro and TWlauncher included in /system/app
it seems like Samsung took some advice from gtg with the twlauncher(never seen the stock launcher this fast or smooth)
-removed some junk apps
-added
voltage control 2.0
cyanogen MMS (switch background color-white/black)
updated maps and youtube
flash player will auto-install
Starting with v3.0, d1g1talphyre will be helping with all future versions of the rom. Im going to be extremely busy is in the upcoming weeks so this will help me get 3.0 out faster to you guys.
3.0 changelog-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9876005&postcount=597
3.0.1-only difference is the power menu fix. there is a .zip for those who have 3.0 already around page 76 or so.
here is a link to a circle batt mod made by d1g1talphyre. this framework-res.apk will only change the circle batt and thats it. rest of the theme is the same.

When you apply your lagfix, choose option one when prompted "backup AND restore"
Install Instructions:
as always, its best to flash to stock JF6 with the odin one click downloader.
copy this rom to your internal sd card, and after flashing stock. flash this through Clockwork Recovery. thats it. no need to do anything with the jg8 modem or anything like that.
on first flash, all=ext4 is enabled by default-if you want to use something else, select go back to recovery then go to the lagfix options and enable whatever you want. when your prompted with the options about backing up, i suggest choosing option 1. this will do a backup and restore so you will not lose any apps(the other options you will lose the apps in /data)

Been looking forward to this.
Thanks, I'll try it tonight.

i hadn't planned on it, but it looks like i'll be flashing today
sweet! downloading and flashing @ work, excited to test.
I couldnt apply lag fix right away had to reboot first ... BUT it did tell me my configs changed ???? ... I chose option 1 and noticed it set up like this
ext4
rfs
ext4
false
false

?????
booting up was about 2 minutes on android logo
reboot to recovery then fix it to no rfs advanced ... ( all jfs )
looking good I previously dropped this rom because of modem giving me issue
will set my stuff and report back if needed .
PS why is the Fm app always in your rom ? do you hope it will work at one point ?
looks great yay launcher pro included
you few that download already, here is a better videoplayer.apk. it doesnt fix the problem, but at least youll be able to view your recorded videos from /sdcard-dcim-camera. still looking at problem and trying to find a fix.
from this point on this video player is included with the rom.(reuploaded)

some people have said if that app is removed it can cause problems. if you dont like it, remove it from /system/app.
first boot will take a while as it zipaligns and deodexes.
and btw this rom has nothing in common with my other di11is darkyy rom except my theme. this is my own base.
Ive been running your darky rom 2.0.1 for a day with the jk3 modem. Downloading now to check out the CM mms. I hope its the one with the notification vibration types like multiple long.

thx bro. was planning on reflashing myself to verify.
My home button didnt work either, not sure about lock screen. Flashing back to stock now.
My home button worked fine. hmmm, also I can confirm the video player.apk in the first post for us couple who downloaded early is letting me play video. But just as stated, can only open it from file manager to view.
great rom so far, its fast. Yes, I did run benchmarks, not that they really matter anymore. can notice the difference in speed when deleting widgets, open anything. It screams, props di11igaf, awesomely quick rom.

just downloaded my own file, reflashed to stock put the downloaded file on my sd and flashed again with no probs. first thing i did though was apply lagfix and when the backup and restore options pop up make sure you choose the first option to backup and restore all data.
let me know if you do reflash this if you have the same problem.

preciate it, will try later. problem probably because i apply lagfix "without backup and restore."
ahh ya i bet thats why. not sure why it really would matter(since the problem your describing would be an android.policy.jar problem) but im gonna try it that way and see if it makes a difference. thats the only thing different that we did though.
also i think if you apply the lagfix that way, any apps in the rom that are in /data/app by default will not be restored-at least this has happened to me in the past and why now i always do a backup and restore.
I did a yes without backup and restore, and the home button ain't workin.
As I can't post in the dev forum I though I'd ask in here; maybe we can use this as Q/A thread and keep the dev thread clean
I've been wanting to mess about a bit with those roms, and I've installed aZuZu's kitchen and loaded up the system.img from the 2.2.1 CM Floyo v0.10. As I can't live w/o headphones I will look into that as a test. I know I might be totally off track here, but I want to try
I want to include the SystemConnector.apk as that seems to be responsible for 3.5mm jack. When I introduce it into the 2.2.1 system I get error: "has no signatures that match those in shared user android.uid.system; ignoring!" Does this mean I have to re-sign it? and with what key?
I've tried signing the app on the phone using zipsigner, and I've used all types of keys. I still end up with the same error..
Now on the latest 2.2.1 that racht have done and my errors are:
Code:
D/PackageManager( 1743): Scanning package com.sonyericsson.systemconnector
D/PackageManager( 1743): Shared UserID android.uid.system (uid=1000): packages=[PackageSetting{462e19c8 com.android.settings/1000}, PackageSetting{462e31b8 com.google.android.backup/1000}, PackageSetting{462dfd80 com.google.android.location/1000}, PackageSetting{462e2fb8 com.android.server.vpn/1000}, PackageSetting{462e27b8 com.android.providers.settings/1000}, PackageSetting{462e0610 com.cyanogenmod.cmparts/1000}, PackageSetting{462e2358 com.android.providers.subscribedfeeds/1000}, PackageSetting{462e1808 android/1000}]
E/PackageManager( 1743): Package com.sonyericsson.systemconnector has no signatures that match those in shared user android.uid.system; ignoring!
W/PackageManager( 1743): Package couldn't be installed in /data/app/com.sonyericsson.systemconnector-1.apk
AFAIK it's using the system uid to gain some specific rights, so I'm not sure if I should change that. I'll try to copy it to /system/app and set rights and chown it to 1k:1k and see what happens
2.2.1 CyanogenMod Floyo v0.11
Hi! Maybe that the mistake is at me, but for me this it mondta( 2.2.1 CyanogenMod Floyo v0.11), that the memory the safe removal of a card, restarted then :S. All this kb 15perc after a usage. One 16GB-Class digs 4 microSD-t I am useful, FAT32 and EXT2 partitions.
I had the same, but 0.12 is stable for me.
What I did:
- I use MyBackup Root to keep a backup of my mms/sms/call log and a few select apps. I also keep a copy of that on my sdcard. I use the stock sdcard...
I started up xRecovery
- Cleared the cache partition
- Mounted my sdcard so I could format my 348mb Ext3 partition from windows using Minitool Partition Wizard Home Edition.
- Installed 0.12 from restore function.
Rebooted and rewarded myself with a coffee
Installes/changes:
- Installed ADW.launcher (opensource version)
- Removed other launcher
- Installed the earphones changer (see main thread for info - SUPARFANTASTIC!)
- Installed Super Manager (it's got it's own version of BusyBox so it won't fail like Root Explorer)
- Removed unwanted apps that racht left behind
Going for a few hrs now and been stable. Don't know about battery usage yet but I can live with that. It's stable and I think racht will continue on his epic quest and I'll follow him as good as I can
hi..
anyone has try 2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12?
when i use this rom, 3G/GPRS is not functioning...
in the detail that rom can use 3G/GPRS but why i can't?
anyone can tell me why?
sorry my english is bad...
Seems to me like you'll have to install a bunch of updates to get a working one. So far I think it's luck when I get something working and when it's not. Currently trying out the X10 one that's ported to X8, but market is failing. Maybe it can work if I apply it on top of something else.. Reverting to racht's 2.2.1
If you've not done so install the SDK and then you can do "adb logcat" to see log output on your pc if it's connected to phone. You might want to redirect output to a file with command like:
adb logcat >output.txt
And then you can browse through it later
My tip: install 0.11 and then upgrade to 0.12 like 1st post sais.
I returned to 0.12 and copied the SystemConnector.apk from the mini and put it on my sdcard and installed it Works like a charm.
My 0.12 status
not working:
- Video encode
- Crypto - so app2sd-aware apps won't install - like angrybirds.
By umounting sdcard angrybirds and other apps will install
- FM radio
-Mount sdcard to PC - no issue for me for now
working:
- all that post sais should be working
- headphones (the stock ones) by installing the app from the mini release.
What I did:
Cleaned out everything but my fat partition on the sdcard.
Format /data
Format /system
Format /cache
Format ext3 partition
Install 0.12 from backup
Install SystemConnector
Install ADW.Launcher (opensource version)
Install AppManager (as UninstallForRoot won't install for me - crypto related)
Remove unwanted system apps
Press Power only to giggle at the awesome "oldskool tv-off animation" and then turn screen back on.
Show off phone to GF who sais she'll keep her stock install while I reboot all day

Hello,
I tried both floyo and gingerbread and they are great (thanks Racht!) but some apps are missing: The Radio and countdown. I think that these are really useful apps, so please put them in floyo, better in gingerbread.
Another thing, instead of the simple calculator is it posible to usa a calculator at least wit the percentage?
thanks Racht for a great experience,
got 1014 in quadrant for hackdroid 0.12.
can feel the different
but, maybe got myself wrong about something, had to flash back.
root explorer work with downgrade to 2.12.
download from market work with update from titanium backup
camera work, camera's button didnt.
video crash.
got no chance to test battery life
in one hour, i got myself reboot about 4 times,
and when i try install and uninstall app,
never start back, stop at hackdroid logo..
just finished my new restore here..
one question, is sdcard had to be FAT only?
thanx

Hi,
I have installed 2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12. It's work great but I but two minor issues :
I can't upgrade launcher pro
I can't start root explorer and that crash my SD card
Does anyone have a solution ?
2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12 doesn't boot
I have a rooted android 1.6 phone (Xperia X8). I made a backup from my android 1.6 and installed "2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12" with xrecovery, but when I reboot, he shows only the text "HACKDROID" and does nothing else. To shutdown the phone I am forced to take off the battery, because anything else doesn't work. I restored my android 1.6 backup and everything works like before.
How can I use "2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12" with my phone ? Should I first upgrade to android 2.1 ?

I think that you must have latest update installed. But maybe I am wrong.
TESTERS NEEDED
so i just finish porting/adding arabic, urdu and farsi language/locale to this rom. basic things like making calls, messaging, wifi, usb connection works but i need to know if theres any bug exist. so i need anyone who mainly use those three language to do further test, feel free to pm me and ill give the link to this new arabic ported build. no dont be scared, this will not bricked ur phone, it installed and boot just fine. im actually using this rite now. i just need to know if theres any other bugs because i dont understand those added language, such as translation error, menu out of order when using ported language or anything at all.
changelog v1.5:
1- added arabic, urdu and farsi locale/language.
2- added fonts to support those three language.
3- removed lg keyboard, added swype which support arabic, urdu and farsi locale/language.
4- rtl fixed, character shaping works on default browser (see screenshot).
5- removed touchwiz launcher and replace it with zeam launcher.
6- removed default mms.apk, replaced it with mms.apk taken from htc desire.
7- updated gmail to v2.3.5 without signature permissions.
8- added facebook 2.0 apk.
9- filesystem is still ext4 but this time unjournalled ext4.
10- because im completely decompile/compile all apks one by one to add those three language, basicly all those apks were compressed abit more so this time theres more internal storage free compared to earlier v1. on fresh install, after installing 3-4 apps from market i still had 18mb free in /system/apps now.
11- remove qualcom bootanimation, uses default samsung's now.
12- cwm 4.0.0.9 smaller image file by 1-2mb, taken from ketut's cfroot b-82.
13- true onepackage install. no need to update kernel via cwm after odin install like previous build, cfroot b-80 already integrated in odin one package install.
sceenshots v1.5:
end of updated post. below is from previous v1. i'll edit it when this v1.5 is ready for public.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
what u'll get with this:
1- based on ZCKPA china fw but on first boot uses english.
2- unique feature that only for ZCKPA which is triple network mode selection (dualmode, 2g only, 3g only) and advance call managing (reject call with message, auto reject, auto reject list, phone number locator, ip call, etc etc...)
3- deodex and pre rooted.
4- full ext4 filesystem.
5- cfroot B-80 kernel.
6- cwm 4.0.0.9.
7- lg keyboard.
8- hostfile modified to block ads.
9- gapps preinstalled.
10- darktremore a2sd should work by default.
11- added a2sdgui.
12- super smooth phone with help of fugutweaks patch v0.1.
13- huge apn list combined from XWKPN, DXKP9 and ZCKPA itself.
14- near to stock ZCKPA rom. just remove some chinese app to free some space.
14- maybe more.. too lazy to remember rite now.
step to install:
1- create backup with cwm and transfer that backup to a safe place eg ur pc. if something happen and u did'nt create cwm backup, i'll just sit quietly and laugh at u.
2- download S5830ZCKPA.NoName.v1.7z and extract it in ur pc.
3- download MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition, install it and use it to format ur sdcard as two primary partition, 1st partition as fat32 and the 2nd as ext4. take note that u should use a usb card reader to plug ur sdcard to ur pc when do partitoning job, its dangerous to partition ur sdcard directly while its still on ur phone and not adviseable to do so.
4- put CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b80_boot.zip on root of ur sdcard.
5- reboot ur phone into cwm and do "wipe cache partition".
6- turn off ur phone, take out ur simcard and put ur freshly partitioned sdcard inside it.
7- boot ur phone into download mode and connect it to ur pc (please double check that sdcard IS in the device but simcard IS NOT in it).
8- run odin 4.42 and tick at one package.
9- for ops use Cooper_NoName.ops that u got from my extracted archive earlier. dont use other ops file, strictly just use what i gave u.
10- at one package option, navigate to S5830ZCKPA.NoName.v1.tar and choose it.
11- cross ur finger and flash ur device. ur device should automatically reboot if everything goes to plan.
12- first boot can take a little bit of time. when it finally boot, restart ur device into cwm and flash CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b80_boot.zip(see step 4).
13- enjoy ur phone

Pretty hard to install I say! Can u make it more easy? Like just Open ODIN & flash via 1 package?
wow great, will try this one, thanks for your effort.
I think partitioning is not necessary for those who have already partitioned their card.
We can just flash this via odin as one file and if successfully booted flash cf-root then reboot and flash gapps for the market and other google apps.
Your instruction will harvest many questions.Make it easy.

reason:
1- its gingerbread 2.3.4.
2- its has louder volume.
3- lockscreen lag is minimal, almost like xwkpn.
4- its the smoothest rom i've ever use.
4- just to be different from other rom which mostly use xwkpn as base
btw fitrst post updated with download link. feel free if anyone wanna make mirror

Hmm i getting problem login into google acc. Seems like som kind of permission problem when installing gapps from zip flashable file. Think i should create another build. Next todo list:
1- remove some chinese app from system. Those app really takes huge space while i hardly believe anyone use it because its in chinese language.
2- maybe wait for next cfroot release that should bring smartass cpu governor. Btw im using kpn wifi module to make cfroot works with this rom. Dirty hacks here and there. So in theory, if the next cfroot still support kpn rom, it should also works with this rom.
3- gapss installed by default.
4- maybe rtl fix.
5- tun.ko, cifs.ko and other module preinstalled.
6- port seilent´s frozen winter theme. God how i love that theme

so here it goes, my 1st custom rom i've created out of curiosity. at first i just create this just for fun and learning, would'nt even expect it would boot, but hey, it boot and running just fine
i called this beta because i think there should be many more that can be done with it, but i'm too lazy to create another build. this one alone took me a whole night to create
what u'll get with this:
1- based on ZCKPA china fw but on first boot uses english.
2- deodex and pre rooted.
3- full ext4 filesystem.
4- cfroot B80 kernel.
5- cwm 4.0.0.9.
6- lg keyboard.
7- hostfile modified to block ads.
8- super smooth phone with help of fugutweaks patch v0.1.
9- huge apn list combined from XWKPN, DXKP9 and ZCKPA itself.
10- near to stock ZCKPA rom. nothing were remove, just those stated above. means u'll get all those app that some of u consider bloatware, but maybe some find useful. so i just leave it be. if u feel its bloated, remove/freeze/uninstall those app via titanium backup or similar tool.
11- maybe more.. too lazy to remember rite now.
step to install:
1- create backup with cwm and transfer that backup to a safe place eg ur pc. if something happen and u did'nt create cwm backup, i'll just sit quietly and laugh at u.
2- download S5830ZCKPA.NoName.7z and extract it in ur pc.
4- download CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b80_boot.zip and place it on root of ur sdcard.
5- download gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip and place it on root of ur sdcard.
6- reboot ur phone into cwm and do "wipe cache partition".
7- turn off ur phone, take out ur simcard and put ur freshly partitioned sdcard inside it.
8- boot ur phone into download mode and connect it to ur pc (please double check that sdcard IS in the device but simcard IS NOT in it).
6- run odin 4.42 and tick at one package.
7- for ops use Cooper_NoName.ops that u got from my extracted archive earlier. dont use other ops file, strictly just use what i gave u.
8- at one package option, navigate to S5830ZCKPA.NoName.tar and choose it.
9- cross ur finger and flash ur device. ur device should automatically reboot if everything goes to plan.
10- first boot can take a little bit of time. when it finally boot, restart ur device into cwm and flash CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b80_boot.zip(see step 4).
11- reboot ur phone. if it successfully boot, reboot once again into cwm and mount system partition, then flash gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip(see step 5) and reboot again for the last time.
12- enjoy ur phone

Any Screen to show us ? can type Chinese on this rom ?
As JB is new to HD2, I decided to install ICS, and the ROM I love, is MIUI. so here is how I did it, maybe others like me are willing to install miui android 4 versions
# before first(!) you must know how to prepare your winmo HD2 to be able to run Android. so search the forums here, and find out!
# I have CLK 1.5 installed on my HD2. I don't know how to use MAGDLR. this how-to is based on clk.
I'm not reponsible for the damages you might do to your device. do this on your own risk.
0- repartition your SDcard by a partition manager. to have a 1)data partition, 2)1024MB or 512mb ext4 partition, 3)128MB swap space. I use gparted in Linux.
1- download the latest ICS version of MIUI roms form here
This is a nonEnglish webpage, you should click on the white button to download the ROM. then copy the zip file to your SDcard
The further versions are JB, not ICS, which are less stable and still under development. I feel ICS roms are more stable for HD2.
2- Turn off your HD2, then turn it on, while holding back btn (next to the power btn). here, go to the "settings" and change the system partition to 240mb, and cache partition to 10mb
3- Then reboot and go to the Recovery to install the ROM on NAND.
4- After installation complete, MIUI just run and everything is OK except language and wifi.
# to change the language which is chinees, follow these steps:
open the settings. (tap on the settings Icon!)
go to the right panel
come down to see a keyboard icon. it's under the clock icon
tap on the keyboard icon, and then tap on the first option. then you can change the language to English.
# wifi cannot find networks. to fix this, first you should install a file manager which can do ROOT jobs. I use Solid Explorer. root explorer can also do the job.
download this attachment. and extract AND OVER WRITE fw_bcm4329.bin INTO "SYSTEM/VENDOR/FRAMEWORK". more info here.
Extra Settings:
# I don't like this huge icons. I used to install Hyperdroid ROMS which had a smaller lcd density, and I feel it was more eye candy. to make this back, open build.prop in /system and find this line: ro.sf.lcd_density=240 and change the value to 200. lower values causes problem. 200 is just ok.
5- If you like to remove the carrier text and some other extra settings, you should flash ControlPanelSuite.
download the proper version from here and copy the zip file to the SDcard. now reboot to the Recovery and install this zip file. Then you'll have a "control panel" app icon and can change extra settings.
6- I use Gmail and Gtalk, which are not included in miui. Download Talk.apk & gmail.apk from this post and move them to /system/app folder by your root file manager. and change the permissions to be like other apps there. Then download the lib files, and copy them to /system/lib and fix the permissions. (if you don't use videochat from gtalk, it's not necessary)
7- Install Link2SD. it's a good tool to move apps specially games to the ext partition. I don't like the native app2SD script in ROMs which link the whole apps to te ext. because if you remove sdcard, every thing begins to force close. because they were all on the ext partition. but in Link2SD you can keep important apps in the internal memory and link games or whatever you want to the ext partition.
8- any body has a good camera app?!

These are weakly roms, and after 2.11.30 which is ICS, next versions are JB. I installed JB, but it was more slowner than ICS. more than that, in my opinion miui JB versions are still under development, but ICS has reached a little stability.

First of all i would like to say a massive thanks to:
- Cj360 for the epic Jelly bean Rom
- Cosmicdan for his awesome kernel
- Lupus as well for his awesome kernel
- And everyone else who made this Rom possible, I thank all of you !!
So now with the intro, I'm new to the forum and i shall be testing different Rom's and kernels and giving feedback mainly on the Xperia play R800i and the Xperia x10 mini pro U20i, recently I've been trying a lot of different Rom's and i stumbled acrossed this JB slim Rom (For the Xperia play) and i was extremely impressed with its performance. The interface is simply stunning, blazing fast and built firmly compared to other ICS and JB Rom's.
Here are some of the specs i gathered from my phone's settings
- Operating system, 4.1.2 Android Jellybean
- Model Number, R800i
- Slim version, Slim-3.1.0-20130202-2346-UNOFFICIAL
- GSM ( Note GSM Version is for UK only)
- Kernel Version
2.6.32.9-Turbo_v3.1 [email protected], #66
- Rooted (Built within the kernel, Both Cosmicdans and Lupus)
[ I have attached some screen shots of this Rom ]
If you have an Xperia play i would highly suggest trying this out, as it is one of the best I've seen on xda:

Installation Guide [For people who do not know how to install anything]
DISCLAIMERS
Before you start anything, I'm not responsible for any: Bricked devices, dead SD cards, boot-loops, etc (You know the drill). You do this of your own free will
Ok with all the serious chat aside lets begin. Firstly you will need the following:
- Unlocked boot-loader -----> Follow this guide from Sony:
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
- Flash tool -------> Get that from here:
http://androxyde.github.com/
- The Slim-bean Rom -----> Download slim-bean in Second post, pick GSM or CDMA depending on where you are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975851
Below are two links i found showing all countries that use GSM and CDMA, hope it helps ! (If your still confused do a little bit of research !)
GSM -----> http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
CDMA -----> http://www.cdg.org/worldwide/index.asp - The kernel -----> Get either Lupus or CosmicDans turbo kernel (There both epic!)
Lupus kernel from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861970
Turbo Kernel from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1817548
- AND A VERY IMPORTANT THING YOU MUST HAVE IS ..... patience's
Ok if you have everything lets start the guide (Note: Make sure everything is done on windows 7, as its easier than older versions of windows)
1. Before we do anything make sure that you have a unlock boot-loader and you have a downloaded the following files:
- The Rom itself ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975851
- The Google apps -----> http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
- The Kernal -----> I did Turbo Kernal http://www.mediafire.com/?ncgvp2qcuns9m (NOTE: PICK ZEUS as that is the code name for Xperia play)
- Flash tool -----> http://androxyde.github.com/
- Fast boot Package -----> http://db.tt/B5vG1ynM
- R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf ------> https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3UZttldr317Zm4xRnQ2WkRFbHM/edit?pli=1
2. Preparing your phone, make sure that you usb debug mode on and file transfer to MSC and allow unknown applications. Next you must connect your phone to your computer or laptop via usb, and open up flashtool and remember to install the drivers, they are located in C:\Flashtool\drivers and install the xperia play driver, fastboot driver and flash mode drivers. (MAKE A BACKUP OF ALL YOUR FILES IF YOU HAVE TO)
3. Go into flash-tool and select flash (Its a lightning sign) and then press flash and open up the directory where you downloaded the R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf and flash it. Wait a few secs or minutes depending on your computer/ laptops speed, then a dialog will open telling you to shutdown your phone so shutdown and wait until its completely off. Now connect the end cable to your Xperia play and hold the back button and connect your USB into the computer and wait for it to flash. This can take some time and you must keep hold of the back button until its completed. After completion it will ask for you to unplug the USB and turn on your phone so do so, then it will launch up the Sony sign and it will pretty much look like the original firmware you had before. Now moving on, once booted up you must skip all settings and wait for the phone to fully load once the set up is done go back to setting and make sure again that USB debug mode is on, unknown sources is enabled and it is in MSC mode. (Note for CDMA R800x users you don not need to flash the R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf )
4. Now connect the usb to the computer/laptop and place the Rom and Gapps onto your sdcard (Make a folder called Custom Rom). and then disconnect the usb after thats done.
5. Now this is were it can get complicated, so please pay attention. You must now shutdown the phone and disconnect it from the computer. Extract the fast boot package (Note: i would recommend to do this all on windows 7) and place it on desktop. Now drop the kernal you downloaded into the same folder (In this case i picked Turbo kernal, so i place it in the same folder). And holding the SHIFT KEY + RIGHT CLICK will open up a little menu (like when you right click anyway) and so you click on open command prompt here (CMD). ok now you type in the following code (In this case the turbo kernal) :
Fastboot flash boot boot_zeus_turbo-v3.1.img
Now it will say waiting for device so you now have to have you xperia play of and hold the search button and plug your usb back in then it will start transferring the kernel onto your xperia play, wait until it has finished and then disconnect your phone and boot it up.
6. You should see the sony sign and the Turbo sign underneath at this point you have to keep press the volume down button -
and then you will enter into a screen where it shows slot 1, 2, 3 and 4. So press slot 1 and then it should say: Boot, TWRP recovery, change slot and Tweaks and mods. So press recovery and then you will come to a screen with different options. First you need wipe data so goto wipe and do a factory reset and then go back and wipe dalvik cache and go back again and wipe cache.
7. Now you must go back and press install and it will show you, your sd card so now you must go to the folder that you name 'Custom rom', like i said before and now install the slim rom, it will ask you to swipe to install so do so and then restart your phone !!. (WARNING DO NOT INSTALL GAPPS STRAIGHT AFTER INSTALLATION OF ROM, INSTALL ROM AND THEN REBOOT AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE FLASHING GAPPS).
8. So now you have rebooted your phone, you should see after the sony sign, the world 'Slim bean' flashing. Wait a bit for it to boot up and then fill out the basic installation form.
9: restart the phone and install Gapps through recovery but do NOT WIPE DALVIK CACHE OR CLEAR CACHE OR FACTORY RESET, just install the gapp zip the same way you installed the rom in 'Custom Rom' folder and then restart.
10. you should have google apps now but the screen might look very small at first and so to fix this press: Menu button> System settings> Interface> Genral UI > LCD density and follow the steps. (This fixes issues with the screen and allows you to use apps like Facebook)
11. The final step of course is to enjoy your new Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Rom and Remember to thank everyone who made this Rom possible!!
So all in all i would highly recommend this, if you currently hold a Xperia play and your fed up with gingerbread then try this out, you won't be disappointed !!
Did i miss anything, if so reply back and i'll do my best to answer your question.

Re: [JB] Slimbean for Xperia play Review (Thanks to; cj360, cosmic dan and lupus)
This is a rather good guide. You might want to change the title. By saying "review" it could give the impression that you were just giving your opinions on the ROM. I used this guide to put slimbean on my Play and i found it easy to follow and understand. However, transferring my apps and data is such a pain:banghead:. I bought TB Pro as well but it tends to hang which leads to frustration as i have to go through the process of which apps i want restored and which ones i don't again and again. It's quite tedious and slow. Anyone know how to make it work "properly" or an alternative?

I look forward to make more installation guides for people in the xda community and i agree i think i should change the title from 'Review' to 'Installation' (My bad sorry ). This is my first installation guide and i'm very happy that you were able to use it and install the slim Rom, as for the apps i think if you have a Google account anyway you should be able to backup your apps from your previous firmware e.g. Gingerbread. I think if you go to Play store then press menu and go to 'My apps' you should be able to see apps installed and previous apps installed if you swipe to the right (However you have to install them individually). I know how you feel though I've been trying different Roms and every time i find myself re-installing and backing up a lot of data, but for now i'm not sure if there is fix or an alternative for TB pro. But i would suggest backing them up manually for now via play store, until there is a way to do it all at once. But nevertheless I will try my best to give installation for all different roms (Hopefully for all phones), making it simpler and helpful for people to understand. Currently i'm studying in college but when i have time i will post different Rom installation guide, but for now thank you.

Well don't get me wrong but all you actually have to change are just few lines in the thread and the title of the thread... Seriously, it's good that you've created such guide but come on, creating like 10-20 threads for different roms which doesn't actually differ much in the installation process? Come on, it's just bad...

I like Appextractor from AppsbyAndy. It lets you extract your apps from a nandroid backup. It's not perfect, sometimes apps are missing, but I like it WAY better than TIBU. The only thing I use TiBu for anymore is removing system apps I don't want.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Awesome rom; but with a big flow

GSM -----> http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
- The Rom itself ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975851
- The Google apps -----> http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
- The Kernal -----> I did Turbo Kernal http://www.mediafire.com/?ncgvp2qcuns9m (NOTE: PICK ZEUS as that is the code name for Xperia play)
- Flash tool -----> http://androxyde.github.com/
- Fast boot Package -----> http://db.tt/B5vG1ynM
- R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf ------> https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3UZttldr317Zm4xRnQ2WkRFbHM/edit?pli=1

I loved the performance of the rom. True jb feel with amazing customization tweets. Checked high end game FIFA12. Works great.
But the rom ultimately is useless for me until you come up with a gamepad and touch pad fix.
WE HAVE XPERIA PLAY. But without the gamepad working; gives such an ordinary feel. sorry.
PLEASE REPLY.
thanks for the guide, very usefull for me..:good:
