[Q] Problems with installing AmericanDroid & Mskip AL - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

So I tried to install Mskip AL v6 and AmericanDroid for a dual boot system.
The installation seemed to go fine (my radio was fine, and was going from the stock tmob ROM), I launched the HATRED and CLRAD within WM, I selected the options I wanted for the loader, it performed the restart and the screen went to black with the green HTC logo.
It never went any further than that.
I left it for an hour, still no change. I pulled the battery, and restarted the phone.
I got bunch of errors about tray.app not being able to start, and then some about trusted certificates.
SO I try to install again, and can't install anything, because I get the trusted cerificates/or one of the components missing etc.
Can anyone help?!?!
I've tried the security disable cabs on here, but they can't be installed due to the above problem.
Does the phone need to be unlocked first? Do I need to install something else first like HSPL?
And before anyone suggests it, no I don't want to go full NAND yet as I want to be able to check out Android on the hd2 before making the full jump.
Thanks!

Mskip loader has nothing to do with your problem, it just simplifies running clrcad and haret from android folder (which you can do by yourself from file manager),
the black screen with htc logo means the AmericanDroid loading started, then something stops (don't know what) - I'd suggest checking this thread for possible clues,

More than a few apps -> reboot loop

I got my new unlocked HD2 last week, but I am not very happy with it.
As soon as I install more than a few apps (sometimes 5, sometimes just 2) and restart the HD2 it goes to a state of constant rebooting before loading the today screen.
This is reproducible with every rom (official HTC roms [1.48 and 1.66], HD2Owner Roms 1.2/1.4/1.5, RTT Shock, Artemis 2.8/2.9, ...). As soon as a few apps are installed the device is constantly rebooting after a restart.
This happens independant of the apps i installed. First i thought i maybe installed something thats incompatible with my sense or wm version (chainfire driver, tweaks, taskbar, max manilla), but this also happens with in my opinion uncritical apps like games or further file explorers, regedit tools and so on (which i didn't start, i just installed them).
I did a hard reset after every rom installation. Then i reinstalled some apps, sooner or later restarted the device and the Leo is caught in the reboot loop again. A further hard reset lets it boot and work again, but same game after installing a few apps on the newly hard reseted Leo.
One or two apps mostly work but as soon as i install a few more, this happens reproducible. I already called the german htc support, but they have no idea what this can be. They told me to upgrade to the next official rom, which was published in germany yesterday (v1.66). But same effect.
Any hints?
Just an idea: Is my flash damaged? It's strange that this always happens, if i install more apps (which should take more flash space). I always installed the apps on the device, not on the sd card.
I already tried to remove the sd card during flashing and during booting. No difference in strange behaviour.
I have the original boot loader and didn't ever install HSPL (-> warranty). Cooked roms were installed via SSPL.
Radio version was first the one delivered by HTC with 1.48 and since yesterday the new radio delivered with 1.66.
BTW: Great forum!

[Q] HD2 Windows/Android problem

Trying to get some help regarding my HTC HD2 Leo for Tmobile. For some reason any windows rom i flash, it will always crash. It will either crash on its own during boot up,after boot up, while im doing something on it, or while i have it locked in my pocket. My phone worked fine before i tried to flash a new windows rom and install a new Android. I went over the steps i did before my phone started being jacked up, i cant seem to figure out what i did wrong.
What i did before the problem:
-Clear storage under windows
- Task 29, held the volume button down once it hit 100%, this put it into boot loader again.
- I flashed the windows rom that was used by dark-stone on his site. ( which i cant post since im new or something) <<< i was trying to use same windows build as him and update my android that he put out on Oct 17th.
- Once my windows rom flashed and it booted up is when it started screwing up, freezing, shutting off by its self after boot, not booting up once i would restart it and also if i left the phone on the tmobile screen it would vibrate like 5-6 times then stop
What i have tried since my issues:
- I tried to flash my old windows roms, with many others that i had before that worked fine. All of these i tried gave me same problems
- i tried to update to the new T-Mobile update that posted on October 20th, and i also tried old version of tmobiles stock roms. Same issues again
- I tried re doing task29, tried new radios, resets of all sorts
I do have HSPL on my phone, always have since i first started flashing roms.
At this point i have a windows rom that can last me couple hours without crashing, so i can text and call. However its really annoying since the phone seems to be fine i doubt i bricked it since it lets me flash new roms and radios. Should i just take off HSPL and reset everything and get this HD2 exchanged, or does anyone by any chance have a way of helping my figure this out, or have any suggestions i could try.
Its keeping me from using windows and even better android
Thank you

Tried to install CM7 - now I can't get anywhere.

Hi all,
I'm having a little problem. I have researched but everything I've found leads me back to square one...
So I followed this guide to installing CM7 on my M2. Please note that I have in the past successfully rooted my phone, installed the Argenstone ROM and one other basic Great Britain Rom. So I'm not a total nub. However at this stage I have a phone that's is useless to me...
My phone is rooted. I have Droid2Bootstapper installed and I managed to get the CWM 3.X installed. I downloaded the all-in-one.zip file from the CM7 ROM thread (the zip is actually called EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip - hope that's not an issue?)
I booted into CWM and applied the EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip and after (without a reboot) wiped everything (I had backed it up previously).
I rebooted the phone and...well I get the Google logo with the Motorola M and the Cyanogen bot as the 2 'O' characters. Then after a while a 3D rotating 'square' and the android writing and logo 'shimmering' in and out but that just goes on forever. I left it for an hour at one point and just gave up.
Now I can't even get past the Google logo. I've tried restoring my previous back up but that won't work either. I can't boot into the OS to actually use RSD lite to flash a known working ROM over the top.
When the LED turns blue and I hit the volume key it displays "Android BootMenu <v1.0.3>" which is different to the CWM 3.X that I was getting prior to applying the EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip file.
From here I can select to recover the last 'latest recovery' which when done loads into CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.6-defy.
Basically I'm at this point where I seem to be able to load just about every boot menu under the sun and do everything but actually launch the damn OS.
How can I get out of this hole? Preferably I'd like to get everything back to the stock ROM the phone came with so that I can start from scratch again.
Any bodies help would be more than appreciated.
Cheers,
- Matt
EDIT: I have even used CWM 4.X+ to try and restore the Argenstone ROM. it goes through the whole process of checking the MD5 sums, restoring the system and boot images etc and seems to work without any issues. I then wipe all data and reboot. Nothing - still the same cyanogen Google logo and the only thing I can do is boot into all the CWM menus.
*sigh*
Argh feel like a true idiot now. It took me about an hour of searching earlier but I've only just found/remembered how to get RSD lite to see my phone (pwr+volume+camera) and I'm wiping the whole thing to the factory (vodafone) ROM. Might take the opportunity to take it to Vodafone and tell them it never gets a damn 3G connection lol...provided this flash works (touch wood).

Opinionated HTC HD2

Hello everyone.
Two days ago a friend of me asked if I could install Android on his "new" HTC HD2.
As I installed Android on serval HD2's I said yes, no problem at all.
But once he came to my house and I started working on it only trouble is what came to me.
The HD2 was stock so Windows Mobile was running on it.
I install HSPL4 , no problem.
Flashed the radio, no problem.
Installed cLK, no problem.
Installed recovery : PROBLEM.
The trouble started from there.
The phone did not reboot, even tough it said "rebooting phone"
So what I did is unplug the phone, Task29'd it and did everything over again.
Than, I got an error on the radio installation.
The phone rebooted and when I got to the tri colour screen I was shocked.
It said some kind of "error rom update failed"
After this nothing worked, installing a Radio failed, installing the stock firmware downloaded from HTC failed etc.
Only flashing HSPL4 and Task29 worked, so I tought I was screwed.
I readed many many threads and somewere I got to the "Chill in fridge trick"
So I putted the phone in the freezer for 10minutes, copied the nbh file from the stock Windows Mobile rom to the SD Card and TADAAA! It worked!
So, here I was, back on Windows Mobile, trying again! to install Android.
As long as I kept the phone cold everything worked, also installing cLK and Clockworkmod.
But now here the thing is: Installing and running Cyanogemod is no problem at all, Cyanogenmod boots and run fine.
But when I want to install a sense rom, it works as long as the phone is cold.
When the phone gets to normal temps it stops responding and tries to reboot.
It stays stuck on the boot, and I have to put it in the freezer again to make it work.
This problem only occures with a sense rom!!
Windows Mobile rom doe snot have any problems, also Cyanogenmod does not have any problems.
The phone does still have warranty, but as the phone does not have problem with Windows Mobile I don't think I can send it to HTC for repair, as I think this is a hardware problem.
Does any of you know what I could do in this kind of situation?
Thanks in advance!!!
Oops, Admins, this one is duplicate, I refreshed the page and accidently clicked post thead twice, can you delete this one please? Thanks!
Did you flash magldr?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
AFAIK HSPL4 is not for Android but only for Windows Mobile.

Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 Install ROM loading issues. Help please

G'day all,
Hoping someone can help. (firstly I've searched on here over and over and some things have really helped, but can't find this issues on here)
Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 (originally with Vodafone rom)
Back story, I managed to put google rom via WINTEAM at some point in time (I don't recall how I did this now) this file - crdroid-6.0.0-20151208-jfltexx.zip (I still have this but not a md5 file)
Anyway, I wiped it under settings and basically stuffed it right up. Loops on WINTEAM (this part I had found in search and downloaded Odin3 v3.13) and Samsung Rom and a couple of others.
I9505XXUHOJ3_I9505VAUHOJ1_I9505XXUHOJ3_HOME.tar.md5
I9505XXUHQK1_I9505MAXHQK1_I9505XXUHQK1_HOME.tar.md5
I9505XXUHOL3_I9505TELHOL2_I9505XXUHOL3_HOME.tar.md5
CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5
The last one actually fixed up the google install but was hoping to place the original Samsung ROM back on and now it doesn't help at all when I run again.
The top 3 are Vodafone, Telstra and Max a forum had suggested (from a page on here somewhere). All of these say pass in Odin3 when installing onto phone. But once it gets to the Samsung with what looks like dots shooting out from the word it never gets past this at all.
When I power up the S4 phone, to get to download screen. I have volume up to download or volume down to restart phone. Some places I've read say to select wipe, I don' t have this option at all.
I saw an option to install s8 rom to s4 which I would like to do, but the how to do that requires working software first and install TWRN or something like that.
I'm not sure if this will run fast or ok on this phone, but it isn't a MD5 file either.
I would like Samsung ROM back on as it (for me cleaner than google or maybe just what I've been used to). I'd like to give to my youngest child as their first phone.
I also had tried to place zip files and also unzipped files on the SD card on the phone, nothing worked for me as it looks like it is expected ODIN3 to work.
At this stage of the day, I would just like to have it functioning again with anything that works.
Any advice on what to do now would be greatly appreciated, also I'm truly sorry if this problem has been documented, I really did try to do my research first before putting this up here. I've been on this for weeks now
So quick update. through more research, I have managed to install TWRP and now have access to additional utilities through WINTEAM. I've now tried to install ROM through the Micro SD card.
I think it comes up with a mount error, but has rebooted and still stuck so can confirm just yet.
I've managed to go through the entire process of installing the PurifieD+ROM+v3.5.zip through the micro SD card in the phone. Asked me about all the options etc during the install. There didn't appear to be any errors at all. Asked to reboot. etc....
I even had sound on the bootup, Now I have the Samsung word on the main screen with a blue backlight just flashing. Been like that for nearly 10 minutes. Not looking good.
Have I got bad memory or am I doing something wrong?
I managed to do a wipe after I did an install and it booted up find. I had no WiFi but than installed the vodafone install that should be the original and all works now.
The amount of time I had been working on this, I really didn't think I was going to get it going. I honestly thought I had some hardware error going on.
In the end it runs now, I can setup and had to my child
so I've managed to now use several different ROMs but now I can't root the phone (it should be able to, has been before)
When I run Motochopper I get this error
error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported.
Seems to happen no matter what rom I've installed. I can't seem to find an older rom running android version 5.01 now
Any help on how to root this. Would be great
Now says it has been rooted, but I do not get the teamwin boot menu option at all. more like just a text style menu for wiping and loading other roms.
