[Q] Installing different Radio Version - HD2 General

Hi guys. First off i should say im a noob trying my hand for the first time at flashing a new OS on a phone.
My intention is to replace my current Windows Mobile 6.5 with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733649
Anyway, i checked and i have one of the x.xx.51 versions, and im attempting to put 2.11.50.20 on. Now ive looked around but cant find any tutorials on how to do this anywhere.
Could you please instruct me on how to do it, or link me to somewhere that i can read some instructions?
All help greatly appreciated.

I'll give you a pass this time since this is your first post but always remember to SEARCH the Forum!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
This is the link that explains it all pretty much in a nutshell how to do it...
I recommend that you go with something that is more up to date - something like HyperDroid NAND Gingerbread version. The one you posted is fairly older and HyperDroid was made strictly for HD2 - therefore you will see lots of improvements.
I currently have MDJ 2.6 NAND Gingerbread with CM7 and it works flawless. Unfortunately it cannot be found easily due to MDJ not being forthcoming with the source of his work...
Anyhow, best of luck... and remember to search!

TMOUS - Guide me please!

Hi, I just got a HTC HD2 TMOUS, I am from Mexico so I really don't care about T Mobile configs. I am pretty new on this, I have been reading for the past days, right now I already tried two diff android builds via SD but I am getting SoD.. so I read I should flash a new radio.
Since I am pretty new and I am not ready to flash a nand Android, can you suggest me what should I do about it?
What do I have to flash? Any links to their posts?
I already read the noob guide to flash WM Custom ROM/Radio on my phone but I am not feeling confident about what suits best for my phone.
Right now I have:
1024Leo
Manila: 2.5.20121412.2
Rom: 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE
Radio: 2.10.50.26
Thanks I really appreciate it
anyone please ?
The only thing I can suggest is that you get a very recent Android SD build. A lot of the earlier ones had freezing and "screen of death" issues, but the later ones didn't exhibit the same problems (as much).
You really need to play around and try a few different builds, but make sure to read at least the 1st post in the thread where you get the build from, as it will tell you of all known issues and possibly link you to solutions.
Also, your radio is fine - there's no need to update it. The newer ones (particularly 2.15.50) report better battery life, but other than that you're okay with what you've got.
Thanks for the info... I will keep trying then... do you think it's worth to change to a nand build? I am not sure if they are stable right now... Thanks again

I find NAND builds better than SD in every way possible. It's more stable and the battery life is a LOT better!
But I am not really sure what do I have to do, I have been reading and what I understand now is that I have to install HSPL3 and then install an android nand build? I am not really sure

[Q] [HELP] Installing Android on HTC HD2 ?

Hello guys,
I'm planning to buy HTC HD2 Mobile from my friend, it comes with Windows 6.5. I will buy it only if I can Install install Android in it. I know it can be installed with Android (I have seen some Youtube videos).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL46dixEuK0
I'm very much interested to install
MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 (CM7) for HTC HD2
So where do I get this MOD to download (The latest version) ?
Please also provide the Install Instructions
P.S : And also suggest me any best and stable Android ROMS
Please search around and read the forums before posting here. This was one of the most asked questions and there are countless tutorials to load Android on the HD2. And regarding your question, every HD2 is able to run android on nand, android on sd, WP7 and WM. You just have to ensure it has the right HSPL and Radio before doing so. As for MDJ's android build you requested, it has been quite some time since the latest version has been released. Its not safe to say he has left the HD2 scene, but his kernels, gps, etc are still used by current builds. And he was the pioneering developer to bring Gingerbread to HD2 and making many developments in CM7 for the HD2 as well. The original thread for the build you mentioned is closed. But his work has been carried forward and what you see in the NAND&SD forums is partly due to him. So im sure you will be equally home with the other great builds out there.
Recommending the best and stable builds maybe a bit hard. It depends on what you want in your build. I presume you are looking for a NAND CM7 build, since you asked for MDJ's CyanogenMod 7. I used to try many builds when i got my HD2 a year ago. So ive 'settled down' now and have narrowed down to a few builds:
For CM7:
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026), (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951), (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1199917) & (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1209474)
There are other CM7 builds in the forums, but the only reason ive not listed them here is because ive not tried them. So you should try the NAND builds you prefer and then decide. Inevitably, there will be a slower and more buggy ROMs, but most of the builds should not have major bugs since development has come a long way now. There also good sense builds out there, but there only a few, so there should be no problem in spotting and trying them. Hope this helps.

1. Read the countless guides/watch countless video tutorials on how to do this.
2. The ROM you have requested is insanely out of date, (when I joined the thread had already been closed, I was searching for it for ages) try a newer one e.g Hyperdroid or Typhoon CM7.
3. Nobody can recommend the best or most stable ROM. What works for one person may not work for another, it's a matter of taste. One easy way to see what you really like is to just try them out. As long as you stick to the guides, you won't risk damaging your phone.
In future please read the forums and use the search tool before posting.

[Q] NOR vs NAND

Hi , I have HD2 and I want to install android OS on it. I found a lot of solutions on this website like booting from SD Card and NAND solutions, but I have one question. Is there any NOR version installation and in general which is better NOR or NAND ? Sorry for this maybe general question but I need help and I would also wanted to consult with you . Thanks , every help is appreciated.
Hi there mate.!
Never heard anything about the NOR version that you are talking sorry
There are 2 ways to install Android OS in your device and they are posted in sub-forums in here and i think you have already saw them
The SD version is if you don't want to leave wm6.5 but wanna give Android a try!
(thats the easiest way to install it)
And the NAND version if you have decided that you want Android OS in your mobile and ofc Android will have much better performance in NAND than SD
PS: my opinion is if you don't want mw6.5 anymore go read some posts and install the NAND version cause you will have much much more performance
I hope i helped
there are no nor versions, you on about running a version in ram ?
Hi and thanks for a quick reply and more than helpful answers. I need to ask you several more things. Since I want to install NAND version, because of the performance, I need the latest version . I saw several instructions for 2.2 and 2.3 android. Can you give me the link to the 2.3 newest installation link. Also is there any known issue after installation (like no wireless network, or some applications doesn't work...)
best off looking in the dev section, depends on whether you want a sense rom or not

As Richy said there are sooo many roms for you to try
The 2.3.5 rom for me is the most stable if you want your phone to work 100% 24/7 with no battery consume!
Now its up to you if you want Sense 2.2 or 3 if you want MIUI or Gingerbeard or or or or or
For me it goes like this :
1:Go to NAND sub-forum
2: Find a good and updated Rom for your mobile (at the front of each title its the release day) enter it and read the full description the dev gives you and to all the steps!!!!
3: for correct use of your wifi,gps,etc.....find a good kernel (Most devs gives you a kernel of their choise with their ROM)
Thats all you need to know...all you have to do is read the hole post carefully
And just an opoinion..if you want a fast and stable (not a fancy one) ROM go for a MIUI and a good one is this Mwakious
and this is Kefir's Kernel
Good luck and if you need anythink PM me
PS: if you think i helped you hit the THANKS button

When the T-Mobile version is mentioned, it is purely indicating that it is a TMOUS HD2 with 1024 MB ROM and the T-Mobile logo on the top. The carrier doesn't matter

Are you sure that carrier doesn't matter , US has different frequencies , and this is T-mobile US (TMOUS). If the carrier doesn't matter ,can I then install in switzerland on orange HD2 according to the procedure for T-Mobile new gignerbread ?
If not can someone give me some links for my HD2 please. I searched NAND 2.3 android but some of the topics are from 2010 and some of them after installation have various types of problems.
Thanks !
Hi there, I was exactly where you were 3 weeks ago. I picked up a second HD2 as my WM HD2 phone is heavily loaded with apps and files etc. and I did not want to risk stuffing it. I played with a couple of versions with HTC Sense but then tried TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 and found it smaller, faster and more stable + much slicker than WM.
After just 3 days and a few new apps like Swype and Wi-Fi tethering, I cut over to droid forever. Next I will do my original HD2 to make it a mirror backup.

As long as you have a TMOUS phone, you can install the T-Mobile US version. As for the Android ROM, have you even looked in the NAND Development forums? There are tonnes of ROMs, none of them even remotely old, which work perfectly. Take Typhoon CM7 or Hyperdroid, for example.

[Q] Hyperdroid questions

first of all, thanks to 'everyone' on these forums
too much reading !....but worth it...thanks
so..
Im gonna buy a HD2 soon
will use Android on it ofc
I've been using Samsung i5700....installed Rom n stuff...so this stuff is familiar
...
...
HyperDroid seems good enough
all the instructions are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7909725&postcount=2
and the new update is this I guess http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026
are those links the right ones?
..
and, is there something I can skip from the first link and jump right into the latest stuff(from the second link)?
another thing...I'm currently in the Middle East, and will buy the HD2 from here....thats not a problem right?....I've heard stuff like 'It should be a UK version'
last question...about the storage....is there anything I need to know about it?....because I had some "low storage" problems with i5700 regarding apps.....problem was solved by using apps2sd ....any problem like that on HD2?
(yes I read the FAQ, theres something written about it, but Im not sure...I didnt understand)
..
(I got so many questions solved by reading/searching.....I didnt find answers to these question so thats why Im asking em here)
thanks
Hi there,
You are more or less correct. The links for the ROM is in the 1st post. 2nd post are the FAQ.
I recommend you search the HD2 Toolkit by ksubedi. It simplifies a lot of things in installing Hyperdroid (or any ROM). The latest version being the 5.3.0
Any HD2 is okay. I'm using Asian model. more it less the same. The US model has 1 gb mem, where ours are 512(or 576)MB.
hope this help.

The steps are really simple.. (made a guide myself, check my signature)
- Install hspl 2.08
- Install radio 2.15
- Install magldr or Clk
- Install the right cwm partition
If you need any further help, feel free to PM me.
You will get at least 500 mb of storage.. which is great, unless if you're like me which has over 120 apps/games. I use app2sd. No problems.
You can partition your sdcard from cwm, very easy. Then your rom will automatically recognize it. Everything is very simple, but when your new, it may look a bit hard..
Like I said, feel free to PM if you need help.
Thanks.
hmmm....well thanks a lot .....I'll let u know how it went

I am lookinng for anyone that might could point me in the right direction od selecting a rom to flash for the HD2 leo. I havent messed with the hd2 much and have a samsung focus that i have been hacking since they first came out. I am wanting to know if anyone may have a good suggestion for putting the ICS on the HD2, not sure if i should install with sd card or flash the rom to the device? I have been reading up on some things but am still not sure what way would be best. I am not new to flashing roms but am new to the HD2 and ICS. I haven't personally used any ICS builds but I can definitely say flash a NAND Android ROM and probably choose the AOKP build judging purely by the OPs (not AOSP, really no point in that). If you want something different try MIUI ICS builds, I personally never really liked MIUI that much but give it a try.
if you want an ICS rom that is stable use Tytung's NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9..its the best one out there.. here is the link:

First i want to thank both of you for replying to my post. I have downloaded the nand tool kit but cant seam to find the drivers for it, i am getting a fed anti piracy error from both the nand tool kit and also from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
I have been reading and looking all about flashing the ICS Cm9 and seams pretty good, the only thing that is confusing me is the the radio. I see that i have to run MAGLDR and then CLK, but am unsure about radio. Here are the other guids i been refering to also about doing the flash.

So when i flash this rom do i have to use the nand tool kit to flash or can i flash just using DLMODE and MAGLDR? Thats the way i flashed my samsung focus rom.
Again thanks for your reply!!
