Music Stopping after a track or 2 - Galaxy S II General

Have noticed Music keeps stopping after a track or 2 when i have phone in pocket with display off. Some threads say is down to a task killer, but I dont have one of those, I have autokiller but I understand that shouldnt stop apps like music and doesnt have an exclude list, could it be the stock task manager (there doesnt seem to be an exclude list there either?). The only other thing I have installed recently is juicedefender, could that be doing it.
Any hints or tips, not found a solution using search yet.

I'm having the same issue with Spotify and Google Listen. I thought it was because of my headphones as they're on the way out but I guess not.

I only used the music player for the first time today and I have exactly the same thing happening. I can even hear the phone start up music so I think the player is causing the phone to reboot.

KE7 seems to have a bug with the music player causing it to soft reboot. A hard reset doesn't fix it. You can try PowerAmp for now as a replacement. Been using for a day or so and it is pretty awesome.

Ah ok, hopefully samsung will fix it soon then

I am noticing the same issue with the default music player, double twist, spotify, google listen and powerAMP.
I don't have any task killer apps which are set to automatically kill running apps.
I do have juice defender but all that should do is shut down the data connections, this surly should not affect playback.
Its quite annoying so I hope it gets fixed soon.

I have the same issue, has anyone found a cure? Doesn't matter what I am using IE radio, music or listen it just stops randomly.

I had the issue previously but think it was down to motion settings as since I disabled motion it has not happened (flip phone to mute sounds)
Hope this helps

My motion wasn't activated, but that seems to be the general answer, turn of motion.

Music playback stops when using GPS navigation

I've noticed recently that after the Android 2.2 update for the Droid Incredible my music just stops completely while using Google navigation. I have to manually start the music again from its paused state every time the navigation system starts to speak.
With android 2.1 I used to be able to have the music playing and then when the navigation app needed to speak it would either just mute my music or pause it then speak and afterward resume the playback.
Has anyone else noticed this?
I'm not rooted btw with the stock rom from the Ruu that was released.
Has anyone noticed this?
Should I have just posted this in the Q&A section instead of general?
I've seen this as well, but not in every case. For example, music stops playing in Pandora, but continues in Mixzing. I'm not really sure who's the culprit in this case.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770724
Emptied my wallet for bTune.
bTune works fine with Google Navigation and Calls, but won't works with Google Actions.
It just keep on going regardless.
Battery life is the only thread that keeping me from going back for now, to 2.1 that is.
I have noticed the same thing when using Pandora. It's a little annoying. The only work around I've found so far is to mute the navigation voice over. Not my favorite solution but the only one I have at the moment.
I've noticed this as well when using Pandora. I'd love to see a fix for this.
When I ride my motorcycle I usually have one headphone in and use Google Navigation if I am going somewhere beyond what I can memorize for directions. The bonus was that I would also run Pandora over the headphones, but no more.

Question - How to keep equalizers from shutting down?

Hi there. I was so use to using DSP manager on my Droid for my equalizer needs and it worked so great.. but that's on my phone. On my Xoom its a different story.. since DSP manager is not possible I have been using the app on the market just called "Equalizer" for the past few months now and its been working like a charm, except for the fact that it would randomly shut down sometimes. But I'm not using it at this moment because its getting major force closes on the new 3.1 update for Honeycomb. As of right now until that gets fixed I am using the equalizer app called "AudioFX Widget". It works very well, no problems on 3.1, but it will always randomly shut down to where you have to put all the settings back on again just like my previous equalizer app. Although it does not happen very often it still can be a pain to deal with sometimes.
Mind you I have had the same problem with every single equalizer app I have tried on my Xoom. How can I keep any equalizer app alive 24/7 so that the system will not shut it off? I'm not using any memory manager or task killer apps because they are not needed for Honeycomb.
I need to have my equalizer to enhance system and music volume. You should try it if you have not. Your whole Android sound system will be much louder and better.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem above?

Google music issues

Google music that came with my tab running 3.1 out of the box isnt recognizing any of my music and closes its self seconds after i open it. I updated the app to 3.0.1 but still no dice. I googled it and i saw some one else that had the same issues but his problems were also not rsolved in his forum. Is there a alternative app that i can use so i can listn to y music?
Try poweramp
Mine had similar issues. It was recognizing all of my music but kept saying "error playing track" and would just randomly close the app after a few seconds. After I upgraded, it now will play the songs but still randomly closes. Trying updating again. Hopefully they resolve this issue quickly. I tried Poweramp but you have to pay for it.
Power amp! I'm using it now. I have never had a better quality sounding mp3 player.the controls for bass and trebble are amazing. You can pre amp it even harder if you have head phones that require more juice then stock tablet allows. This just made me go from hating the tablet to being inlove
I know why
I had the same issue, then i tried loading my music using kies and noticed that it put the music in sdcard/sounds and not the music folder. So after loading music using other methods into the sounds folder the music app plays it.
sounds stupid, but that's how it is

I just tried Poweramp...it's [email protected]#$% awesome. Definitely worth the price. Plus, gotta get these devs motivated to make more useful apps, right?!

[Q] Audio muting itself

At random times when i play music there isnt any sound coming out the the headphones. After pausing and playing, changing tracks or scrolling the track it suddenly starts working again. This happens at random times and gets pretty annoying. I have tried different Equilizers but no luck. Right now im using the Noozxoide Eizo rewire pro on xnote 20. Anything i can do to fix this? has anyone else experienced this?
Yep, mine does that occasionally. Haven't been able to pin down the cause as of yet.

u r using third party music player so it might be a bug in that music player
try another app or reinstall it

Stock, N7, Winamp, Poweramp, Shuttle. All have the issue.
Full firmware reflash & data+cache wipe did nothing to resolve it.
It's not any specific song that has the issue.
Files on the SD or Internal make no difference.
Neither doe the EQ settings, headset vs speaker.
Adapt sound is disabled completely in applications.
It's not overly common (+-Once every 3 days of 12 hours listening), but it does happen.
Also at times it won't play the next song after the last one ended until I hit the power button to turn on the screen. Then it starts.
I suspect it has something to do with the notorious Mediascanner process. It's so bugged it probably gets stuck halfway through.
Yea i've tried mulitple 3rd party music players as well as the stock player. Im starting to think it might be equalizers.. I uninstalled the equilizer i was using which has worked fine for me on the stock music player, however, 3rd party music players still have the problem.

I don't the solution for this. As I have never heard of such issues.
But you can try this.
Clear the Music player data from Application Manager.
Go to: Setting--> General--> Application Manager--> All
Look for Music, MusicFX and clear it's data.
Even after trying this it didn't work. Then hard reset might be required.
Thanks.
okay....did that. i'll see if that worked. it happens just occasionally...just every once in a while. very. weird. :-\
thanks!
well....it just did it again! i'm trying to figure out if it's related to any other apps. i have a call blocking app that just "contained" a spam call at the same time; however, it didn't do that yesterday, when the music player went off....
i guess i'll have to watch to see what other apps are active when this happens.....

i did an online chat with samsung, and "force stopped" my music player (which he said is like disabling it). then i made another app my default music player, so hopefuly that will take care of it.
if not, "i'll be bock..." (<---arnold)
@Ms.O
Okay.
Even if you force stop it but once you click on Music player then it will start.
Since Music player can never be disabled. (Unless you are rooted)
I guess any third party app is causing that issue.
You can use Built in blocking mode provided by Samsung.
Thanks.

yes, i noticed that! but i've now made another music app the default for music files, so i'm hoping (fingers crossed) that does the trick. since it's so random, i won't know for sure unless it happens again!

blocking mode on my phone only blocks selectively for notifications, calls, alarms, timer and the LED indicator. there is no option to block only music. and i want to be able to listen to music when i want, just not at random times when the phone decides to play it!
thanks tho....
Maybe you have some audio bluetooth device that connects? When I get into my car and my phone connects with bluetooth audio, the music player also launches and starts to play. You could check your bluetooth pairings to see if it has an audio device. If it does, umpair it and see if it still happens!
Just a thought..
