Hi
My wife owns an x10I. It's rooted but I want to flash a stable fully working custom ROM, preferred miui.
Current fw is 2. 1-update 1
Baseband version 2. 0. 46
Kernel 2, 6. 29 semcuser @semchost #1
Build number 2. 0. A. 0. 504
Can anyone describe me an easy and safe way to do it?
Any way to backup the current official firmware?
Any stable miui for x 10yet or you would suggest another Rom?
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
Uggg well the x 10 is practically. Un breakble but you can back that up with recovery (installable. Through flash tool)
Trip miui is pretty stablemediafire.com/?czhu43rb44n0et0

Thanx m8
Unfortunely no Windows computers at home so I must use a friends one. Is it necessary to upgrade baseband?

I'm running Glazed and really like the ROM but interested in trying others. What's the best approach in doing so?
Is there a way to make trying out ROMs "easier"?
Haven't used ROM Manager before, and have read mixed reviews.
Appreciate the help from the wizards on this site.
Make a nandroid. And flash a new rom, don't like it.... restore your nandroid.

There is no other approach then flashing them and see. Or you could read feedback

Project AOSP
Most of you here know about my ProjectAOSP rom so there isn't any need for introduction. I had several requests for making a version compatible with the LTE variants of the phone. As such I have made a port following Madmacks steps, seeing that I can't rebuild the rom from the ground up without a device to test on. For this very same reason, I decided to post a test build I made here, hoping that someone would be brave enough to give it a try. This rom is ported to the N7105, however from what I understand (I might be wrong), N7105 build also work on the other variants of the phone such as the T-Mobile and AT&T one. These build haven not been tested at all as I do not own the device so I'm relying on the feedback I get before I post in the the development forum.
THIS IS STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT AND CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE. I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE

N7105: Not Tested

Thank you all for testing, there seems to be some problems with the modem and the phone, I'll try my best to fix them and upload another build

I keep coming back to check on this thread...can't wait to test the next build...did you have to change a lot to get the aosp apps to work with stock?
I may take a stab at it using your rom as a guide...if you're cool with that

I think I am worth half of the xda bandwidth consumption just from reloading this page.
I'll update it soon. Sorry but I've been busy with updating the N7100 rom

A user on reddit managed to port my rom so I'll try that Rebasing would be quite difficult as I do not own a device to test on.

Sorry guys I know I've been delaying this for quite a while now but I don't have enough time to finish it that fast. If anyone has any solutions to the current issues I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out as it would help me release this faster

It's a bit more complicated than that. For each version that I have to do for the N7100 I end up testing several times and that already takes a long time. Having to upload each test would take forever. The rom has been ported to other variants of the Note 2 so it should be possible to just port it

I'm a noob to tables but have done many flashes to my phones. My main question is, I'm rooted and ready to flash a ROM to my Nexus 7 but I'm confused about a few things. I'm running firmware 4.3 so do I need to flash a ROM that's made for 4.3? I'm interested in the Carbon ROM but it doesn't state that it for 4.3.
I'm interested in a stable ROM that has a lot of customizing options. Any suggestions?
Thanx in advance for helping out a Noob!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
ROM = Firmware
Flashing ROM = Flashing different Firmware
If you flash a 4.2.2 ROM over a 4.3 STOCK ROM, then you will have 4.2.2, and nothing about your device will be 4.3
just to verify, you have the old Nexus 7 right?
Yes, old Nexus 7. Thanx! Now I feel comfortable trying some Roms.

There could be partition issues when you have the wrong one.Like there was with the 4.2 update. If you flash a 4.2 rom onto a 4.1 bootloader your whole data will get moved into another /0 folder

The nested 0 folders was a recovery issue, not a bootloader one. Neither CWM nor TWRP could initially deal with the new multi-user directory structure. Koush and Team Win promptly updated their recoveries to resolve it.

I've been very happy with RasBeanJelly. It has a good cross between features, speed, and light-weight. It tends to be quite stable. I ran it for about 7 months, until I decided that l decided I needed more excitement in my life and jumped to a bleeding edge ROM. Depending on how the new ROM does/does-not develop, I may go back.
Before you go changing ROMs, make sure you are ready. Then make sure you are really ready. After a couple of times you may actually be ready. Look around, and you will find some guides. Here's a good place to start: Flashing Guide. The biggest issue I have had is making sure I have a good BACKUP and RESTORE strategy that works.
Good Luck,
-John
Slimbean 4.3 beta 3 is pretty feature-rich and is a beta in name only...it's been rock solid for me. Get it at www.slimroms.net
Thanx for the ROM suggestions! I been running CyanogenMod Ver 10.2 Unofficial and I like it but now I'm ready to try some more Roms. I've got the hang of flashing stuff again so now I feel comfortable trying some new stuff.

Hi guys.....
We have compiled SOKP ROM for nexus7 flo....
I just want to make sure it boots before making a development thread
Since I don't own flo device am making a thread here for testing....
Visit here for detailed feature of sokp ROM
http://sonic-developers.com/?page_id=160
Visit here for download link
http://sonic-developers.com/testing/
So do make a backup before proceeding to test the ROM
Steps to flash ROM
Wipe data /system/cache/dalvik
Flash ROM(don't flash gapps)
Wipe cache /dalvik
Wait till it boots ....(at least 15mins this is because boot animation may or may not work since its 1st build...)
Post test results here...
If it not boots come with a logcat...
Hope all will cooperate and help me to bring this beautiful ROM to your devices...
Regards.
Audio God
Am compiling deb version now expect that also for testing in a short time..... [emoji6]

Nice Rom Test Build
To be Honest AudioGod, I think for the first SOKP Build I used, It seems to be very stable compared to other roms in the nightly stages, and it has a lot more features. The only issues i had which are not major is that sometimes it may say Google Play Store stopped Working and the same with Clock, but in the end it is my favorite rom for flo. Keep up the Good Work
Ok I will put this today......
Please dime come forward to test deb build......
Deb build is uploaded can any one test for me
Flo rom is working great for me. Used it all of today with no issues
This definitely should go into the Android development section so more people can test this, it works for me quite well and is one of my favorites in multirom. Maybe we can make it official and drop it in the original android section. Go for it dude
