I'm sorry as I'm sure this question gets asked a lot but I'm trying to do research and can't figure out which head unit this is. It's listed as an ERGOTRICS EK-6235 but seems very similar to a lot of other unit's I've seen custom made for Jeep and Chrysler products. I'd post a link but I don't have enough post count to do that.
It's Product ID: 32369091299 on AliExpress. Any help would be appreciated.
It looks like a HuiFei type. I'd like to see more specific specs to be certain, though.

2021, still waiting for "will check the forum every day to see what the customers care for and then improve our head units."
All that has happened is that spammers have taken over the forums.
What will happen is joying will retire their forums as product complaints and issues roll in and create a new site.
Reseller of FYT units, they show their customers how much they actually (do not) care, by not keeping their marketing hyped promises, such as addressing bugs, such as the Google Contacts deletion bug, that has been present since 2018.
I recently purchased an Avin AVANT-4 head unit for my E46 M3 and started learning about the wonderful world of Android based head units.
After reading a few threads in this forum, I understand that the various MTCx devices represent different types and maybe different generations of products. Is that correct?
What does the MTCx acronym expand to? Is that the core Android based system?
Looking at some screenshots of my unit, I saw “MTCE”. However I cannot find info on that type here. Does anyone have info on it?
Last, which firmware would be suitable for that unit?
Looking to replace the 2017-ish model 7" Pumpkin head unit I bought from Amazon back then. It's starting to show its age, runs Android 7.1, takes forever to install downloaded apps or updates, I think there was only ever one or two system updates released for it. My preferences for a replacement;
-Would like something that still gets regular updates, or can run LineageOS or another clean, stable custom ROM.
-Would like something I could root, but not mandatory.
-Must have at least one USB pigtail, my Pumpkin had two and I use them for low profile flash drives that contain my music.
-Preferably 4gb RAM. Not even sure why anyone makes android devices with 2gb anymore. Doesn't need a ton of storage because I only install a few apps...play store, gmail, chrome, torque pro.
-No disc player/slot needed.
Anything that fits those preferences? I think the Pumpkin AA0703B would probably work, but I'm afraid of it slowing down after a year and taking half an hour to install a Chrome update like my current one. There's also the Joying JY-UQ128N4G. Thanks.
Fyt uis7862 based units of 3gb or more. Avoid teyes reseller units.
There are no custom ROMs, they are all modded factory ROMs largely to address bugs and workarounds (mtcd and stm type). Not needed on FYT UIS7862 units.

I google searched "FYT UIS7862". I think some Joying units may have that from the results I'm seeing? I'm not getting any reputable results on where/what model to purchase.
It looks like the Joying JY-UQ135N4G-DA has that processor you mentioned, and is available for 334shipped directly fromthe joyingauto website. That a good model, and is that website official/reputable?
There's a whole forum dedicated to FYT units, perhaps you missed it.

Only then will you know what is being brought and potentially head off bring conned/ripped off/tricked by the seller. FYI - I brought an FYT UIS7862 6GB, from seller "mekede" on aliexpress - after requesting s/shots. It is vastly superior to the MTCD units and probably anything else Chinese origin Android Head unit.
Yes, this takes some effort from you...would have thought you at least looked through my post history and searched here.
I can't seem to find a thread or list anywhere of reputable sellers and current reputable head unit options. I see a few models mentioned in random threads, but I've not had any luck finding them at places like aliexpress? Just trying to find a universal 7" double-din that is confirmed to be good and made in the last year.
Hi, I'm also finding out what I'm going to trade my px5 for. After reading 4pda and xda, I came to the conclusion that the best thing you can buy today is the FYT platform with the UIS7862 processor. It is the most powerful and has an open system for editing, and on 4pda you will find the necessary updates and mods here on XDA. Here are some tips on 7 "Universal. Top rated are Mekede, Navifly and EKIY KK5. It's good to take it with at least 4gb ram.

Personally, I would choose the M600S. If you want to save then the M500S should suffice. Of course, it's best to take the M700S.

Good grief, read first, post later. When your next post is thoughtful, I can reply to it.

Listen man, technically I've been on this forum longer than you have but clearly you know more about these head units than I do, and therefore know where the fragments of info about them are scattered. There are no stickied topics listing reputable shops/sellers, or which radios to get. I'm not going to browse hundreds of threads trying to piece it together either. You can't even type "FYT UIS7862" on google and get useful results, it's mainly stuff about Joying head units. Clearly the information isn't easily available.
If you don't want folks coming in here asking questions like this AFTER having already searched for an answer, then maybe you can author a few stickied posts to answer those questions and make it easier on us? Otherwise, being rude about it doesn't help and that's not how XDA has ever or should operate. Chill out a bit before coming back to my thread.

Awesome, thank you for the info and the list of recommended radios. I'll look through those and do a bit of research on each one before making a decision.
It seems when someone first tries searching for the info I was looking for, they're somehow led to the Joying head units. I know back in 2016-2017 the Joyings were OK, but what about today? Not worth looking at anymore?
I have the Mekede M600s and M700s pulled up side by side, but all the info and specs look the same. I think this is probably more the fault of Mekede, or how aliexpress works, because when you choose a different model the specs don't change on the page. Do you know what the differences are between the two?
Edit: Found it. Further down their pages they have comparison charts.
Joying is still a good brand, the choice is yours. Here it is even with a knob and buttons, maybe it will suit you better to control:

I'm thinking I'm either getting the Joying 6/64gb with knob, or the M700. Joying is more expensive but my current Pumpkin 2/32gb has a knob and I quite like having that. Will do a bit more research and hopefully make a decision today. Appreciate your help!

So I've got a JVC-KW240BT and looking to upgrade so maybe a 9inch screen. Just curious where to buy from? And any recommendations?
I've looked at t10-2 8 core 4gb64b from develuck
Kunfine -9inch. Octa-UIS8581A
Carlaoer- TS10-9inch 4G+64G QLED 720P AMP IC 7851
Hizpo- s5?
Im leaning towards these specs. 9inch with maybe 6gb+128gb could anyone recommend some reasonably priced ones? And where's the best place to buy?

You would be better to put your question in the Android Head Units section.
This sub forum is specifically for Android Head Units manufactured by FYT.
None of the units you are looking at are FYT units (that I can see anyway)
The units you mention are a mix of QF001 and TS10 head units which are discussed in detail in the Android Head Units sub forum.
