Learned A Good Lesson Today - EVO 4G General

Powerful storm cells in Illinois knocked out the power today, and here I Sat with a dying battery and 2 uncharged batteries sitting in a drawer......
Needless to say, they're charging now.....
And I forgot how slow 3G is.....

So is the lesson to always have spare batteries charged for any given moment?

Oh yeah. Especially when the dish goes out and you need to use a streaming radio app (Tune-In Radio) to keep up with the situation

Alright, I was just checking.

In other news, Jamie1975's Giger ROM was very kind to my battery while surfing the Net on 3G.. only dropped 14% in an hour....

Wizard Crashed During Flash...Just Thought I'd Share

For some odd reason my wizard likes to say the battery is full when its actually dead and that it's dead when it's really full. Well a few days ago I was reflashing to try and take care of the issue and it died during the middle of flashing. It would only goto the bootloader screen and would not charge. Well I decided I'd post a few pictures of my recovery technique utilizing my wife's phone. Cat5 cable striped at the end and twisted to each of the positive and negative battery terminals and the Blackberry's battery put it so I could use it to power the wizard.

How to build an emergency charger with two AA batteries

If you are tired of your battery draining off too rapidly ( Especially when using over clocking software like Pocket hack master and XCpuScalar) then you might consider building your own emergency charge device, like described in the fallowing link:

Enjoy!
Let's remember how odd this will look if you're trying to go on an airplane with a small Altoids tin with batteries in it!
This is really cool. Thanks!
It´s really nice, but for this price for one pice (20$) and the time to build it, it´s cheaper and easier to buy it ready made.
I get it for 10€ incl. shipping and then with four batteries.

Battery draining after 5 hours.

Battery is draining to fast. I have to charge by noon when I take it off the charger at 6:30am. I kill all my apps but a main process in the system is alwa ys running, anyone help??

Rule out the possibility of a bad battery. Check the battery connections are clean, and if you have access to a different battery try it and see if the phones behaves differently.
If you swapped batteries and battery still drained in <6 hours then it is best to back up your files and do a full factory reset.

Battery dropped 20% overnight. How can I find out what's causing it without rooting?

Nothing in the battery stats is abnormal and the phone didn't wake up a lot yet I lost a ton of battery overnight. How do I find what caused it? Also is their anyway to tell if I have a defective battery? A lot of people here and at /r/motox seem to be getting better battery life. I can barely get 3 hours of sot over 10 or so hours. I really want to keep this phone but if this is going to be normal then I might as well go back to the Note 4.

Install System Panel and let it log the data for some time. I have the paid version, but I think the free version is similar.

Battery all of a sudden is totally garbage

Not a month ago I was getting 5+ hours of screen time a day with room to spare and I would go to bed with 15-20% battery left. Now I can't even make it the day and struggle to get 3 hours, just tonight I went from 11% to 2% in a matter of minutes. It looks like the Android system is sucking up all kinds of battery, I've been using Gsam Monitor since May:

What gives? I have all my bloatware disabled, I have no clue what's going on. Reboots do nothing.
I think a factory reset may solve your issue. It never happened to me since no rom has been in my phone more than a month
