Is there one that will work with the arc?
I have tried 2 or 3 versions of it but none of them will work for me
Try Smart Keyboard from Market ( Pro or free version )
they offer an HTC themed keyboard this might help you
Try this
i used it on my arc and it work fine, just extract it on ur sdcard root and install it using any file explorer
You can generate your own HTC IME Keyboard here with a customized skin

If I remember correctly, only English Roms are able to install the HTC Plug in, I did it. Used a combination of the Home Plug ins, and also uses the Diamond.tsk. I also added a wallpaper as well.
Attached is the Zip for the Diamond.tsk. Just unzipped.
I was looking for the solution but couldn't find one. Now i have CM6 rom on my tattoo and seems that there is only one keyboard type when writing sms which is qwerty. When i bought the phone i remember that there was opportunity to change between qwerty and normal mobile phone keyboard type ( i dont know how it is called). My question is: Is it possible to change the keyboard type in this rom ? Or maybe there is a software or something like that to do that ? Thanks.
I suppose you have SPQRom installed. This rom has android keyboard, but the stock htc rom has Touch input, which suppord different keyboard types.
You can use this keyboard in SPQRom. It's called htc_ime and you can find it on stock htc rom. You can just install it. For me works fine.

Thanks. But it keeps crashing all the time... as soon as i choose new input method i get forced closure of the program.. Maybe it doesnt work on tattoo ?
Strange, cause I'm using this rom(0.4.1 version) and I've installed several times above file, and I never had problems. In fact today, after a restore, I installed it again and works fine.

Hello,
I wonder if we could install the keyboard on our HTC Galaxy 3 because I love
I already download the apk but failed to install so I do not know how to do it unless there is a apk for our i5800
Thank you
no you cannot as the whole layout changes along with program and button location but u can ask any developers if they can port it
the best option is to browse through keyboard in market and select one u like or is similar to HTC

Hi,
The Microsoft orignal keyboard is still there, only disabled in the registry.
Here's how to get it back : check the registry keys listed below and modify the relevant values if they're different. Add missing keys or values.
Then just long press on your keyboard icon to pop a menu allowing you to select either HTC EZ Keyboard or the original one. Maybe you'll have to reboot before it becomes available (not even sure about this).
Code:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{36BC8FF6-8241-4C36-ABDE-204885471FEE}\DefaultIcon]
@="\\Windows\\ezinput.dll,0"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{36BC8FF6-8241-4C36-ABDE-204885471FEE}\InProcServer32]
@="\\Windows\\ezinput.dll"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{36BC8FF6-8241-4C36-ABDE-204885471FEE}\IsSIPInputMethod]
@="1"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}]
@="Keyboard"
"ShiftLock"=dword:00000000
"KBMode"=dword:00000005
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}\DefaultIcon]
@="msim.dll,0"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}\InProcServer32]
@="msim.dll"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}\IsSIPInputMethod]
@="0"
I currently have 3 of them displaying in my list : original WM keyboard, HTC keyboard and FingerKeyboard.
If you fancy renaming the HTC Keyboard name in the menu into whatever you like, you'll find it there :
Code:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{36BC8FF6-8241-4C36-ABDE-204885471FEE}]
@="HTC keyboard"
; (or anything else you'd like)
If you're not familiar with the registry, I could make a CAB for you and post it here.
