[RECOVERY] [5.25.2011] NEW ClockwordMod Recovery 3.1.0.2 - Thunderbolt Android Development

As of 5/25/2011 @ 1:11PM CST, I have been told by ROM Manager v4.2.2.0 to update ClockwordMod Recovery from 3.0.2.5 to 3.1.0.2
Seems like a "drastic" version change, but maybe its just-the-numbers.
Have you updated?

yes. battery now lasts 6 days on a charge with heavy usage.

It didn't drain 3% just flashing an update after doing upgrading. That is the first time recovery hasn't made my battery cry...

There have been a lot of modifications made to the recovery that were unreleased. There is a beta download that often doesn't work but has newer versions listed on most phones. Good to see someone is still working on recovery because if this doesn't offer charge in recovery mode I may need to go do work.
As for development, it could be possible it was updated because of the op post in vie bamf thread saying not to use ROM manager. Might be working on that issue... Just a thought

Clockwork Recovery has supported charing via recovery for quite some time. See, the Thunderbolt uses the recovery kernel to charge the device. Thats why in early builds, if the device was off, it would boot into clockwork when plugged into a charger.
No, this update likely supports the write firmware command, and some other things that most end users will not notice.
Nonetheless, its a development thread if Koush posted it. This however, is a what was changed? post. sadly, Koush does not seem to post such silly things.
So yes, QA is the best spot for it. Not that I really care, I just saw the oppurtunity for a witty remark

When did this come out? Could it be the reason for all the "brick" bootloops?

Multiple posts on this, one search would have done it. You need to recalibrate your battery and let a few cycles go by. Battery stats mean nothing right now until you do that.
The rom looks alright even though I don't like the theme. I like TW and all but I'm getting tired of 2.2 roms with themes that I have already seen.

Meh...
I just loaded Bionix 1.3.2test with Overstock 2.4.1 kernel, so I'm not really into (re)loading all the apps and stuff right now.
Freaking takes hours to get it right.
I wanna try the next gen Bionix. I've downloaded it already but I hate the blue theme. I'm a big fan of the GB colors and the old Bionix theme. So I'm gonna wait until someone makes a theme or a GB themed next gen is available.

I just do a clockwork backup and then do an advance restore userdata after flashing the new rom. I haven't attempted the technique for two different roms (such as Bi-Winniner to Bionix) but from Bionix-V to Bionix NextGen beta and NextGen 1 worked fine for me.
What's up with all the xda-tw drama again? Mods locked down one thread because it didn't have a direct dl link, and another - because it did??? Lol
I flashed Malice III yesterday and did a full titaniuim restore ... only to wake up this morning with a urge to check the team whiskey forums ... seen this was a public release and clicked downlaod then I flashed it.

From a moderators perspective if a thread in the Development section does not contain anything Development related then it should get locked. If there is no link then it's rather pointless and based on personal experience will only cause issues between other members and the developing party.
In other words, if there is nothing good that can come from it then it naturally closed as a preventative action.
The other thread was locked because the link posted was for that of the BETA release which was intended ONLY for those who had donated to TeamWhiskey. Now requiring donation for download is in conflict with the interests with XDA-Developers and the community so we cannot and will not have that here on XDA.
By the way... I'm not your moderator so I have nothing to do with the decisions that were made. Here I am just like yourself. An ordinary member.

Yup. That's pretty much in a nutshell how these things work around here. No sense in getting particularly agitated about it, if nothing else this may be a good chance to take a breather from the site for a bit while things settle down. At the very least just stick to the development forum to keep tabs on the latest roms and kernels.
