What site?
Sent from the SuperStreak!
Lol, yea which site? Do you mean you installed it without any tweaks?
Sent from my Dell Streak running StreakDroid 1.9.0 with XDA Premium app.
I dl it from this sote but it sounds like chipmunks
So its not working correctly. We all new that already.
Sent from the SuperStreak!
Did you do the build.prop tweak? It gets rid of the super-fast chipmunk playback.
My phone thinks it is an HTC Vision, and it makes Netflix work just fine. However, it breaks ooVoo video chat, so you have to switch back to DELL Inc. and then ooVoo starts working again which, unfortunately, puts the Netflix back on super-fast chipmunk playback.
Anyone get Netflix working on 354?
Mellojoe where can I get that files from?
Is that all that gets messed up, oovoo? I can defiantly do with out that

Don't know if you've found this yet or not but here it is:
http://www.streaksmart.com/2011/05/...unofficially-works-on-rooted-dell-streak.html
You need to have root access and most likely Root Explorer or some other way to successfully edit the build.prop file.

You can download it here:

Enjoy!
10.1.106.16
its not. its 10.2.156.12. try uninstalling then reinstalling.
works flawlessly. smoother than the previous version.
good job adobe/google
before i used to get really choppy playback on www.traileraddicts.com
all smooth now. im one happy droider
Currently it displays 10.1 in the market from the tablet but if you click install, another window comes up and shows 10.2 and it works!
Is anyone else who installed it having problems getting it to work?
I installed it from the market, but nothing happens in the browser (Both dolphin and stock).
I opened the apps list and it's not even running. There's no way to open it up and start it. Rebooting didn't help.
What am I doing wrong?
10.2.156.12 -- that shows up after the install.
just installed, market info is outdated, works fine though!
Sweeet.
Tested against the 'top flash sites' of 2011, all are working great!
delete please~

smooth playback and scrolling
Ok. Got it to work after clearing my browser cache.
Strange.
Anyways, I just watched a couple of trailers on traileraddicts. So much better than the leaked version, but I can't wait for 720p playback!
Installed by using push from market.android.com
Works really well from several discovery.com shows as well as full screen without jerking. So far so good.
Works good. Would be nice to have full resolution video from these sites instead of mobile resolution.

Got it. Didn't remove everything from the leaked flash player, left the lib file. Installed fine once I removed that
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
If you have the leaked version you must uninstall first. Or you'll get install error. Just a heads up.
What is the best way to uninstall when it doesn't show in the market?

Good news everyone! Netflix finally has an app for android!
The lovely xda gurus even modified it to stop the device check.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076150
Download the second one (device check disabled), install, login and enjoy!
I have already watched 2 eps of invader zim while on my lunch break!
It is work fine on my p509 w/CM7, so hopefully it will work with all optimus one versions.

Thanks! This works great for me. I tried out a few different programs and everything seems to be working.
What kind of bandwidth does Netflix use on a mobile device? When I stream music I use about 60-70 MB/hour. I am wondering if this is something I can use outside my home or just when I have access to wifi.
Thanks.
installs fine, stream starts, but has the "chipmunk" audio issue (playback twice fast), as well as the green bar at the top issue. (P509, rom void#echo, with hwacc.)

Yeah.. some people have had this issue across different models of phone.
Personally, on CM7 from mik, it works fine for me. I wonder if it 2x on froyo and not gingerbread.
So far as bandwidth taken, I don't know yet. I have only done it on wifi so I haven't been paying much attention.

same question
I installed the updated Netflix app released today and now I'm able to stream movies, the color is off a little though.
Here is the link to apk
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14182239&postcount=1466
i see what you mean..i have this green bar going across the screen in the bottom. colors aren't that great..but eh. i can deal with this for now.
watching Mortal Kombat..
Tried austin powers, plays very smoothly but with strange colors

it's the video decoding due to our phones, probably because of the tegra. this has been known since the netflix app was first released (FYI it's been working on our phones since then, the APK was posted in the apps forum)
Still a pretty awesome step in the right direction.
Doesn't android have a graphics layer that's standard across releases that developers can code to instead of hardware specific? Greenbar is pretty annoying.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
It does, although this is a video decoder issue.

The supplied link does not work for me. The app downloads, but it wont install, saying that the app was not downloaded from a trusted source. Does anyone have a fix, or advice?
Thanks.

Damn....
So no options for us 1.83 stock users. Well I guess. I'll read about rooting and side loading this weekend.

This is definitely a step in the right direction. More functional than the app has ever been...but the green bar along the bottom of the screen is weird.

Seems to be similar to the Netflix app. Only support for certain devices. SNS obviously is one of them.

Do you use a hosts file to block ads? make sure none of the listings include *hulu*
If the ads are not able to load than it will sit and buffer than tell you you have a connection issue.
I just downloaded netflix update from today and it works with no chipmunk effect!!!!
Are you on a stock rom?
I just installed, no stock rom and it's working flawlessly, my dell just got that much better
I can't find netflix in the market? I have the latest version installed already, not that it works or anything.
Running stock rom
IIts not in mkt try adroidheadlines.com and look for article from today I was so happy for it working and got in a hurry!!!
You mean "androidheadlines.com" ?
Helps to have a few missing letters in there !
Edit: Hurray! I can vouch that I can now get Netflix on my Dell Streak !!
Sound is normal, movie plays smoothly !
I am on stock Froyo 2.2 with Rogers, unlocked and using Telus SIM.
Finally a worthy use for my 6gb data plan !
Thanks OP for this gem of a discovery !
Note that this is NOT on Market. You have to download the APK from the link in the article at the website above.

Stock Streak 5 NetFlix now working
I have a factory-unlocked, unrooted Froyo Streak..... Last month, I had side-loaded the NetFlix app (version 1.2.something), and it would take me to NetFlix & I could log in, but would not play any videos (player screen would go black for a second then it would immediately take me back to the NetFlix search screen). Yesterday, I finally uninstalled that version and installed the newer version from XDA (version 1.3.x I think it is), and BOOM.... it's working like buttah! Thanks all!!
