Is there any way to upgrade the camera on the HTC HD2? I'm just curious if it will work, if I take the camera from a HTC Desire or another HTC Device with a better camera and replace it (I already have my phone disassembled on my desks for a few mods I'm already doing it to it, such as front button leds) ? I'm mainly curious about the driver part of replacing the camera because it is different.
Thanks in advance.
Unless you're some programming expert/genius then it will work. It's all hardware without software, so it will work if you put the right/make software.

Do you guys know if there is any camera app with face detection to use in cm7? That's the only thing I miss from sense, the auto portrait mode is great.. one weird thing is that I already ttested a lot of camera apps, one of them was camera360, that in our hd2 doesn't have face detection, but in my friends galaxy S the same app has face detection..
Any insight would be appreciated..

I recently my HD2 replaces becuase the touchscreen became unresponsive.
Anyway. When I got the new HD2 I was taking pictures of the one I sent back and remembered how good the camera was on that thing. Flashing NAND and using android on it seems like the camera became bad. Is there anyway to bring the drivers or the setting from the HD2 camera? Or make the android camera perform better? Basically is there a way to make my camera perform like it did when it was stock winmo 6.5 on an android ROM?
Thanks.

Hello!
What I have in mind is:
disassemble the phone,
extend a little the wires that connect the phone to the camera, so that the camera comes out from the phone
reassemble the phone.
is it possible or the camera is weld to the board?
I would like to try this with my old phone droid pro..
Thanks!
Too bad, u can't make it as simple. How will u manage about 20-40 connections which are toooooo close?

You could pop it open and take a look, that'll give you an idea of the difficulty pretty quick
Why do you need to take the camera OUT? Just keep it and attach the right optics on top of it... Just like on the iPhone microscope..
hw about buying an endoscope camera and there you'll have a device sepíríted from the phone
Hi there,
I have a problem with my HTC HD 2.
I have installed the Android, but it is not working good, so i decided to get back on Windows 6.5.
The problem is that my Volume Down and Up is not working so i am not able to boot it.
Can you give me any idea, how to do it.
Thank you

sorry, to flash winmo you need to be in bootloader, to be in bootloader you need to have a working vol-dpwn button (or make the connection with a small paper clip after dismantling the phone, , whatever, , vol down needs to be pressed) the only way to get into bootloader without vol-down requires that winmo already be running on the phone, which it isn't.
Sorry but if the buttons aren't working obviously you need to replace them to make them work.
As far as i see, i really need to change them. The volume done flex is cutted.

Not really, if you really want to do it(but you have to be a tech savvy or assisted by one) you can do it(I don;t know if it worth it, but this is another story) by attaching 2 wires on the motherboard(in fact to the mainflex board connector to the motherboard) imitating Vol. down(-) button's action.
This looks veruyhard to be implemented. I thought is there any program that will bootload without pressibg vol down butt.

I would like to share this young Project from the 3vo section. This is my Multitouch Projection Mapping Demo Beta for my Kinect supported Multitouch Projection Mapping software on desktop(Desktop-Version could already beam Android touchable to any Surface and has much more Features).
This should be fun one day:

reason for black camera is app was build for Android 2.3.3 and cam lib seems to need this Android version. So Androids later then 2.3.3 can not start cam in this app so far.
I am porting this to latest Andriod Version but this means also porting from Processing to Eclipse and could take some time.
