I have DJ Steve 1.9 but the icons seem small... can I make them bigger?
dpi 160 is the original dell settings so ive been told.
when i installed dj steves 1.9.0i set it to 240dpi looked like a disabled phone for the elderly lol.
id go with 160 0r 180dpi
Can this be for without a re flash...
Yes , install lcd density and you can change the dpi as needed.
Or you can do the same by edittng build.prop and reboot.

You could just change it in the text file and "flash" which doesnt really revert your settings.

So I use that popular LCD changer that most of you use, and set it to 200... or 190. BUT... no matter what it won't let me use the extra space to relocate and use more icons, on either the desktop or the apparently pages. There's enough room for lots more icons per page, but my Tab thinks there isn't and keeps snapping them back to where the original density would limit them to.
???
Is this a limitation of the OEM launcher system? Which reminds me... is there a way to replace the Samsung browser icon on the launcher (to the right of the Alps button) with, say, Dolphin or Firefox?
Think there's already a thread on this I think.
Anyway, changing the density will not change the layout of the home screen (lower dpi wont add an extra column) unless you manually change it with LP/ADW or whatever other home app you use.
And do you mean you want to change the shortcut? Longpress as you do with any other.

if you had used the LCD Density program you would know what he was talking about. thats an idea dont you think?
What he's saying is this:
LCD Density makes things smaller and on the desktop it appears to give more room for more icons however that room / space is not usable at all.
You can use launcherpro to make more icons on the launcher
Sent from my SPH-P100 using XDA App
Launcher pro replaces the OEM one... can't the OEM launcher be used to do what I want?
I don't think there is anyway to do that in the stock launcher.
You need to use either ADW launcher or launcher pro.
I recommend ADW.
Oh btw if all you want to do is have more icons on the launcher you need not use LCD density changer.
Sent from my GT-P1000R using XDA App
i use lcd density changer and also adw ex (paid for version of adw). density at 180 and have 10 icons per row and 10 per column... fits the screen perfect and is just right for me.

What bit of my post have you ignored? The middle bit?
That's what I said. Changing the density will not change the layout of the desktop. It wont give you more rows because that's not what it does. It makes the phone think the screen is larger thus makes everything smaller.
Sent from my GT-P1000
Having all of those icons and rows must be an editable option that comes with the paid version of ADW. I can't get more than 4 icons across and 4 down with free ADW and 180 lcd.

In the free version you should be able to change rows and columns under screen prefs in adw settings

Thanks, but the only options or any type of settings I see for the free version of ADW are the "Launcher Actions" when you long press the home screen (or other any of the adjoining screens). I'm sure you already know but these are just shortcuts for ADW actions. I suppose I will check out the paid version.

You press menu>more>ADW Settings then scroll to Desktop Rows/Columns.

Awesome. Thanks man. Something so simple yet I could not find it. Exactly what I wanted!

Without resorting to using Spare Parts software.
I want the font size to increase insize and stay that way.
Any software to edit font size and flash to the Sony x10 ?
Thanks for any help given
There is a free app called Font Changer in the Market (root required).

Hi,
Thanks for your reply
Yes i have tried that, its ok but you cannot increase the size of the font.
You can only change the style of the font.
Would you like to make everything on ur phone larger? If so as you've got root edit /system/build.prop
Change ro.sf.lcd_density=240 to
ro.sf.lcd_density=300
It may cause some graphical glighes in badly programmed apps that expect the same screen size including some of the android pop up boxes and some stock SE apps. For example gaps may appear or not all the screen is used but most apps work fine I've only tried making things smaller thou (mine is set to 200). If 300 is too big/small try a different value. Restart to apply changes. Think there is a density changer app on market for temp changes to test.
Use root tool.
I know you Will say I want to incense the size
Yes there are some fonts which t very big so you can apply.

hi, i hate my screen at 480 and i'm looking for stock app with touch wiz, like camera, phone, calc, gallerie and the launcher itself. can anybody help me Thanks
You can use this Xposed mod to change DPI on a per-app basis.
It requires a rooted phone.

Or if you like AOSP then there are options there also.

The app is used to change DPI of individual apps. Not the entire phone.
My dial pad looks fine? I have not used the app to change the dial pad though. I only used it to change one app on my phone.

or u can edit ur build.prop to 320 dpi, make sure u do a nandbackup 1st.
or
on Per App DPi change the Android System to 320 but 320 is pretty small on the S4, i'd go with 380
What's the dire urgency to have 320dpi?
Hey,
Recently changed the dpi of the entire phone by changing the android system dpi to 380 in the app settings module, everything looks and works perfectly with the google now launcher (not with the lg home launcher sadly ):
However I can not get swiftkey to behave normally, the keyboard is extremely magnified and useless.
Is there anyway I can make swiftkey work with a custom dpi of 380, or any other keyboard that would work ?
What's your issue? I use SwiftKey at 380 DPI without problem.

You've tried reducing the DPI of swift key in app settings I assume?

I have done it two ways:
1:
Changed the android.system to 380 dpi => swiftkey is completely messed up
2:
Changed the android.system and swiftkey to 380 dpi => swiftkey is completely messed up
3:
Left android.system unchanged and changed swiftkey to 380 dpi=> swiftket is messed up

Yeah, that's pretty messed up. I don't use swift key but just installed it, it's fine on mine. I used Textdroider to change DPI to 370 immediately after installing a fresh ROM (CloudyStock 1.2) and I then used App Settings to revert the camera and messaging apps back to 480. I use Nova launcher but everything was fine in stock launcher.
I can't help you with a fix, just merely suggest a possible alternative.

LG stock and Swiftkey work for me
If you can be bothered, try setting all app settings DPI back to default then use textdroider to change DPI (it will change everything!) and then use App Settings to set bugged out apps (only noticed camera and messages) back to default DPI.
Initially I had a problem with setting DPI with Textdroider in that the power/reboot menu was messed up (1/4 of it was completely transparent) so I gradually reduced it from 480 down to 370 and everything looks nice and crisp, even the notification drawer.

Ah perfect !
That did it for me !
Turned off app settings and used textdroider to change to 380 dpi (no problems with power/reboot menu), no bootloop and now everything is looking beautifully crisp as it is supposed to be.
Camera app had to be changed back to 480 dpi with app settings
Thank you !
No problem.

What about the OP's question? Any way to get Swiftkey to behave at reduced DPI?
Hi fellas.
I am using textdroid_dpi to change my whole system dpi from 480 to 400.
I also used Xposed App Settings to change DPIs back to default per certain apps (eg. camera). However, I can't seem to set the DPI for the dialer. Can anyone tell me whats the process name I should set under App Settings? "Phone" does not work.
Thanks!
UPDATE:
I realised the dialer is part of contacts. It's all good now.
