At MWC there was an app for the Economist and an app for Wired and yet here we are towards the end of May and no sign. Anyone know what they are waiting for?

nook supports magazines
For your information, NOOK apps can support quite some magazines and Kindle too. =)
The Economist says an Android app is in the works and will be coming soon - this may have been the one that demoed at MWC
Zinio will be the best magazine app when its available. They are actively working on a honeycomb version and will answer any questions on twitter promptly. There is a leaked version grom the galaxy tab that some people have hacked to work on the xoom but zinio's xoom version should be out soon. If you need access now try nook but I don't like the way that app works. Patiently waiting for zinio

Some guys in the Galaxy Tab thread are reporting problems with GTab wifi not being able to download some apps from Android Market.
I'm a few days from buying a Xoom here in Brasil. I am thinking of wifi only model but I have to be sure that Market can be used as in the 3G model
I have a wifi only Xoom, Market works great.
I don't have any issues with the market here. But the Galaxy Tab uses the 2.2 market, not the tablet market as far as I recall.
I should say there are a couple of apps that the Wifi Xoom doesn't play nice with. Including XDA and Pandora.
I actually have a question about the market, how do I find tablet optimized apps?

Search for honeycomb
Only trouble I have with the market is what I'm assuming everyone else is having. Can't leave comments, can't browse by new released apps, and when browsing for apps, any app you've already installed, it will still say "Install or Purchase".

Zinio is a magazine reading application. At the moment comes with some free magazines.

This app is exactly what I've been looking for, lots magazines with reasonable price.
However, its very slow to navigate and zoom within a magazine. I even got a warning for "System encountered low memory" for the first time on the Xoom.
So I'm not going to buy any magazines or subscription until the app becomes more usable.
Hopefully new update is in the work.
Coming from an Ipad, I was very much looking forward to this being released. The program is ok, relatively slow as well. Sadly, the national geographic subscription I paid for will not work on honeycomb yet.
Does anyone here use the Kindle app on the a500 with stock 3.2?
I have an a100 and it came out of the box with 3.2 and kindle app does not work... it just force closes. Now I am getting the update notification on my a500 to update to 3.2... but don't want to if it breaks my kindle app on the a500.
Was an early adopter for the kindle... so even though I don't buy books there anymore I own about 63 books on it I don't want to lose access to on the go. So basically just curious if 3.2 breaks the kindle app or if its something with the a100. Have heard that some honeycomb apps don't do well on the 7" screen.

Mine works fine. I use the Kendall and I am running a rooted Lightspeed 1.0.2 which is based on 3.2.

I hadn't installed the Kindle app on my A100 because people said it didn't work. However, with today's Kindle app update, I figured I would install it and give it a shot. I guess the update fixed the problems, because I was able to login, download an archived item, and read a few pages with no FC.

I installed it on my Razr MAXX. Other than the addition of "Magazines and TV", I didn't see any difference. I uninstalled it because I have no interest in these additions. ..But it did work fine. You can try it on the TF. It's easy to uninstall the update if there's any issues.
I have it installed on my stock ICS TF101. I downloaded it from another XDA thread, I believe for the Amaze 4G. It is running fine with no problems. I've already canceled a magazine subscription from the nook store and started getting it though play magazines. It was almost 40% cheaper through the play store. Loving it so far.
I just noticed that sometime in the last 48 hours, the new Play Store was pushed to my TF. It is now running 3.7.13.

Your Play Store should have updated itself my now. It's been pushed to all my devices. If not, you can find it on sites such has "Droid-Life".
Yea, I'm using it. I like the new magazine section. You should have no problem with it. Just find it and upgrade.

I just realized that the new store has added some pretty subtle improvements like auto-complete to the search box (it'll pop up with actual apps as you type, as opposed to just keywords - allowing you to bypass the search results screen) and full screen pictures of icons when you click on them.

For some reason, my tablet hasn't gotten the newest google play update yet. My samsung galaxy player has it. Is it just me? I am still running honeycomb.

I know this doesn't have input to your question, but why have you not gone to ICS yet? Just curious...
Got the new market today.
And, yes, ICS is the way to go. Don't let the bootloader talk worry you. It is a fairly straightforward & well documented process. Your tablet will thank you for it.
