Was the touch dual an orange uk exclusive?
Was it first available on orange before it became sim free?....If so how long after it being on orange was it available sim free?

Im pretty sure Orange got the exclusive in the UK. AFAIK they were released so near to each other as makes no difference, I would of theought the SIM-free version came out first.
I got mine SIM-free from Expansys on 1st Dec-ish.
o2 have a version, i cant remember what its called.
anyway, i got the orange one...just 20 £ to unlock...
is imei-check the best place to unlock it?
otherwise is there a rom i can use to wipe the orange stuff completely and unlock at the same time?

I don't think it is available on PAYG on O2 yet and I've only managed to find it at Mobiles.co.uk on O2 Contract
Oh.... and my Touch HD has no branding whatsoever

From the mobiles.co.uk O2 said "They won't be getting it, and you should get it from the Carphone Warehouse" (Paraphase).
Also, O2 UK don't do many pay and go xda's.

yeh they are doing for £450, £10 talktime included. I've ordered it from them, expecting delivery tommorow.
By the way u need to ring carphone to get it on pay n go o2.

i just bought a htc g1 locked to t-mobile austria. I got a good price for it and i decided to buy it because i found a lot of information regarding the unlocking of the phone (so that i can use in vodafone card here in Portugal).
But the problem is, it seems t-mobile austria changes the native codes.. I'm, trying to talk to a lot of ebay stores and some sites, but the most usual answer until now is that they can't supply the code to unlock the phone from t-mobile austria.
What can i do?

I would look into seeing if T-MO Austria can unlock it for you (they may charge a fee tho).
Just got an Arc but is network locked on Vodafone Spain. I looked everywhere but the prices are surreal ... 90$ for an unlock code?????

ive been looking on ebay and have found a few but i wanted to know whether this phone will work in the uk if i get it unlocked.
i need to get it unlocked to o2 so if anyone knows whether this phone will work in the uk on the o2 network would they be able to help me out..

Atrix will work anywhere
You need to check if the one you're looking to buy is already able to use any carriers SIm... if it isn't then there are people on ebay who will be able to unlock it for you and it should only cost you a few pounds.
