[Q] ADAM bricked... - Adam General

I am translating with google translator from Italian so I do not know if everything is understandable ... and maybe I'm wrong section
ADAM (MAYBE) brikked?!?
I state that the tablet is not mine and therefore I do not know for sure what happened .... but my friend told me I was playing, I locked the screen and when I tried to turn it on does not turn on.
The tablet in recovery, in bootloader, and in normal mode will not turn on ... the screen lights up only slightly. You do not hear any sound .. but the tablet responds to commands .... in fact if I try to get into recovery mode the light comes on, just do not see anything ...
how to fix it? 'warranty?? bah!
In any case I had put on the beast2.2.1 Rom that was a very good and very stable ....
P.s
even if it is possible that a party is the wifi version control for the pixel IQ?? plz let me know as soon as possible ...

Hi Guitar-heromc
Can you use nvflash? So can you for example read the partition of the flash memory using:
Code:
./nvflash --bl bootloader.bin --getpartitiontable part.txt

Samsung Omnia i900 SD Download Mode

I broke my phone (radio rom) while trying to flash my dear Samsung Omnia i900 using GrandPrix. The full story can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418917
Here is the latest help I receive from chaimd:
The other way, I found strings of "phone.bin" or "SD download Mode" in eboot.bin.
I think you can try below;
1. copy i900DXHG4_phone.bin into a microSD as "phone.bin"
2. set the microSD and power on your OMNIA
you can try with microSD format FAT16 or FAT32.
And perhaps, entering SD download Mode need some key combination with POWER key.
Good Luck

I will try this out. Does anyone know how to enter the SD download mode?
10x for this
i try format fat 32 sd card i copy phone.bin and try some key combinations my omnia power buton light blu green and red but noting. How to setup in menu my phone boot whit mmc?
this is help as?
To boot from a program, create a folder entitled "MCSTART" which contain a programme call "AUTORUN.EXE". When you insert card, windows will copy executable and launch it with parameter "install" (and when you remove it, windows relaunch app with "unsinstall parameter")
So maybe you can create an executable that launch ROM update
NO you do not need autorun, bootloader should exevute the flash from SD but i am unaware of the key combination

I found out the SD Download Mode is actually one of the Bootloader mode. Therefore if you know how to enter Bootloader Mode then please share it here. Thanks.

Thats were there is a little problem in the Omnia the boot loader mode is automatic. When your device starts up and you see the Samsung Omnia logo this is bootloader mode. If no request is made to to the system to enter bootloader the normal startup proceeds. This is why when you flash from Grandprix you have to press detect first then restart. The detect sends a command to go into bootloader mode.

That's why I think the solution to Samsung Omnia i900 SD Download Mode is to find a program that will activate it from Windows.
Anyone have better idea?
hello
My omnia is 5 days in service center but not alive. any progress for repair the phone part ? i have 2 x i900 one is work and one only pda i try metod phone to phone but not work.
I have the same problem. I tried to download HH1 rom, i followed the steps and the procedure went successfuly with any error, screen say job done. then my phone wont power on again.
will the SD download mode work if the phone won't even turn on? how to make it turn on? how to use the SD download mode? can anybody give exactly direction? please help.
My omnia original english rom working if can help with something to ressurect yours tell me.
anybody have more details of i900 SD Download Mode and how to use it?
will it recover the bricked phone? my phone wont power on now.
So, does anyone have idea?
Hmmm. Yesterday I kill 2 pcs I900 Omnia with GrandPrix 1.8.1 trying to flash with HH1 version (only PDA part), but after that I flash them with old version (HG3), and everything looks ok. I think if You do not kill the boot sector, you should bring your phone to live. And one more. NEVER try to flash bootloader in phones like this, because there is no solution to restore it!! It's this same problem like qualcomm phone series. No TestPoint, no solution, at now.
how can you flash it again it the power cant turn on? the main problem now is the power cant turn on. any ideas?

Thanks prpetrov, your kind heart is really appreciated especially when someone like me really need help.
We, the people who has half-bricked phone (no phone function) really need to know how to enter the SD Download Mode with or without using software.

I think there is no solution to our bricked omnia's but to send them to Samsung Service centers. If warranty covers it, it will cost $150 or so for shipping. Losing $150 is better than $700. Once I get it fixed, I will sell mine and won't get it again. If a firmware update caused this issue, I cannot rely it as the device of my choice. I have not even used any tricky methods, just tried to update with its firmware and now in Monahan's. Sucks big time.
I contacted samsung US. they told me they will only support handsets manufactured in US. I also contacted samsung singapore, they told me that there is no warranty on exported handsets. warranty is only availiable to handsets purchased from local stored in asia countries. all handsets purchased online from europe, US, do not have warranty, so samsung will not support those.
I am so disappointed with samsung. there are people all round the world purchase products from ebay and online stores, samsung do not provide services for them. this is a big problem.
I will say, can we all complain to Samsung? may be see some light? may be i am too silly.... If we don't try... we do not know the answer; Right?

OK, here is time for report what I've done so far.
Firstly, THERE IS a function to download from SD card, but at this moment, there is only 1 way to activate this function, have to be done through telnet from JTAG.
People have MONAHANS is problem with PDA bootloader (PXA312) , then PHONE problem is related to Qualcomm bootloader.
Secondly, there is some functions that I tried on PXA312
sys.cpu PXA310
sys.JtagClock 10MHz
sys.option WAITRESET On
sys.up
data.set 0x40e10414 %long 0x00001841
after this, it will bring you control of MONAHANS
Something important here:

[Q] Tattoo Bricked

Hello,
I tried to update the radio and the SPL version on my Tattoo. Everything went fine until I had to reboot my phone. It shut down alright, but it never powered on again.
These are the following problems I am having with my Tattoo at the moment:
Cannot power on phone.
Cannot boot into recovery mode.
Cannot boot into FastBoot.
When I connect it to my computer via USB, nothing happens.
The only thing that it's responding to is when I connect my it to my charger.
Does anyone have a solution or is my phone dead forever?
Thanks ahead!
bump? anyone?
Send it back to HTC. If anyone can do anything about it they can. There's nothing else you can do. Sorry
boo.. that sucks..
Well, thanks anyway
Ehm, I don't want to post a New Thread so I'm gonna ask here:
Does anyone have the pinout for the Tattoo?
Take a look at this. I guess they fix such things (but you never know if they just are after your money. http://www.ort-jtag.com/index.php
Yeah I saw that already. Also, there is a file name Tattoo Jtag on their website in the Support section. However, to access that section you have to enter your products serial number (which is I'm guessing the phone's serial number). I have tried several serial numbers (including mine) and all of them were 'invalid' so I never checked the files out.
Also, they only have one thing in the shop which is a kit and it costs $330 so no thanks
I have a similar problem, I would like to share my knowledge although I must be completely out of way.
My experience is based on the BeagleBoard and Angstrom so I really don't know the HTC HW and Android at all...
- The device boots from an xloader that instructs the device how to proceed with the boot
- the bootloader takes place (great u-boot in the beagleboard ?? in the HTC phone) the bootloader allows for ROM or kernel+rootfs flashing and much more
- now the kernel is loaded.....
User mode applications do not allow to have access to the memory area where xloader and u-boot lie so they should be safe all the time to allow for device reflashing.
So we should have access to the device via bootloader anytime if we knew how... maybe somebody can help us further.
Fabio
Same here...Exact same issue...No Recovery mode...No USB Connectivity, Screen turns on but is blank, alhough I did see Tattoo popping up initially but not any more...All I can see is the LCD back light turns on...Battery does charge...Also when I try to enter Recovery mode screen keeps blinking as if it is trying to restart again and again...Someone help
similar problem here, but i get absolutely no response from the phone, it doesn't even recognize the charger. do i just throw it away and buy a decent one or is there a solution?
Sparky the only way for now to fix that click is to bring it to some service point that have that ort jtag, because only way to fix that is to writte new boot sector on phone . Im sure that i know at least 2 services that have ort jtag in Novi Sad . Look for marvel *Miroslav in Ns, or send me private message
same thing happened to me
just this morning, and in desperation I tried hard to remove the batt cover (prob pressed some of buttons, I felt a jerk and ho it was back in amon ra`s recovery, nect time I just removed the battery waited for 30 secs, then press off&home and hold it till recovery came back) but for good half hour NO REACTIONS , ABSOLUTE BRICK, nothing when I put the usb in PC or in socket, dead screen, no sounds and no reaction to ANY combination of keypress. I guess you could call me lucky (in last few days I flashed at least 3 versions of froyo roms, this afternoon I bought =8GB class4 Kingston, formated it in PC FAT32 default size, copied EVE. from my 2gig rom then just turned it down (yes I am brave) and put the 8gig in tattoo, it works like a charm (finger crossed it will continue)
So is there an available Jtag for the Tattoo yet?
I'm in the same situation. No recovery no fast boot, Damm!
I`ve update psfreedom with psgroove_hermes_v4 zip file then my tattoo reboot and now I only get the Tatto title screen but nothing happends.
Somebody have clue to give back life my phone.
Thanks!
if you can get to the title screen, that means you can connect it to your pc via USB and recover from a backup (I hope you made one)
Hello, I connect my tattoo to my pc, but usb connection is not available yet.
Is There is a way to activate usb when my phone blocks in tattoo logo??
Thanks for reply.

[Q] Acer Iconia Tab A500 Bricked

Hi colleagues,
I have a problem with Acer Iconia A500 tab. after I tried a custom rom Prime v.1.8.2, suddenly my screen is blank tab and vibrate (bricked). now I can not recover it back. I've tried copying files into the microSD updates.zip and use the means hold down the vol-+ power. but no change. is there any colleagues who have a way to fix this problem?

I dont know, but i wont that Prime anymore xD
And i will protect my Galaxy sII right now, that was enough today.

Run on Stock roms, protectors xDD like a little baby that phone.... badly tablet ;(
Can you boot cwm (hold volume down while power on)
Thank you for reply.
No, i can´t boot into CWM. This is the horrible problem.
It only vibrate and turning the display on, thats it. No Logo, no sound everything is dead.
It would makes me really happy if i finally can flash a rom
I think there´s a stable way to fix that, cause the guys from acer wouldnt be able to repair guarantee products if there´s no solution.
Does fastboot/adb work when powered on?
i dont know what fastboot and adb is.
How´d i go into it ?

if you can boot into abx mode (hold in reset switch while holding power on) you should be able to nvflash a recovery image. Just a thought.
Posted from my a500 oc @ 3ghz ddr3 speed 17% boost. Taboony 2.2 Honeyvillan 2.4+ custom with ntegra fixes. 17890 cf-bench, 9000 antutu. Custom named n-Game OS v 1.2.3b.
Doesnt work.
I´ve pressed the Reset button with a tiny paperclip while im pressing the Power on button. Same result as all the other tries.
I didnt tried the ADB mode and the Fastboot mode because i dont know how to get this onto it.
This is really awesome... nothing works seems like the Bootloade is dead, the Recovery mode, CWM Mode, Computer Connection as well. This really sucks.
I really want to make this piece of plastic work !! xDD
Ok ive opened the tablet now and i hope hope theres a bios memory battery. ive kicked the main battery for about 2hours and it didnt reset itself, but if theres no battery, all the settings cant be safed for a time like that soo there have to be a batery like a motherboards one on the pc.... if u want, u can send me a pm for pictures

Hmm this problem seems to be happening to quite a few people, I wonder if there's been any fix for it yet

I dont think soo....
Nobody´s gonna support that tablet anymore
exactly i´ve got the Packard Bell Liberty Tab, but its the same tablet like the iconia a500 because acer bought Packard Bell round 2006.
I´ve called the Packard bell phone support here in germany...
They told me some tricks i can do to repair it but everything didnt made the succes.
That stupid Support wanna have 0,99€/minute awefull.
I´ve asked them about an guarantee shipping and repairing but its not possible.
They wanna have 50€ which means in USD 69,41$ for it.
50€ to repair the rom, but if youre having some more broken things you´ll have to pay quite more money... especially if u wanna make an estimate, you´ll have to pay 25€ soo 75€ + other costs.
it isnt worth it!
Im gonna sell my tablet on ebay and i hope i can earn still 20€ for it xD

Ok I just recovered from this problem and will try to assemble all the messages and links that helped solve the problem.
Here is the original post that got me going in the right direction
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1291747
If you can get it to apx mode you will be able to run this update:
apx push paperclip in reset while holding power for 3 sec
his directions were kinda sketchy but here is what I did,
Install android sdk
Install acer usb drivers (available from acer website or from euu rom download)
If you don't have your uid # you will not be able to do this so Download usb dview and look for your # under serial #
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
Download this acer rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878
all the way to the end of the page EUU version is what I used because on another site this is the one they said would work.
-Unzip to desktop or somewhere you will remember (you will need to run pbj20Upgrade.exe)
-Start android sdk
-Put device in apx mode per above instructions
-Run pbj20Upgrade.exe and follow instructions
* There were other instructions on this website that didn't work for me, I could never find the temporary file they said should be there.
I hit ok and let it install the drivers then selected language and update
It takes quite a while so make sure you have unit plugged in and wait (be patient)
It asked for my cpuid i typed my uid with a 0x0 in front of the 15 digit number and it proceeded to upgrade
You should now have an old version 3.0.1
Halleluiah I was worried this time!
Hope you can make sense of this maybe someone else can make clearer instructions.
Thanks to everyone who answered questions there was information all over but not all in the same place.
Gary
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU glbell62!!!! I have been fighting my A500 off and on for a few days and finally came across your post and have it going again!
dude u gave a really lot of hope with your thread, i´ll try this with Android SDK
and i hope it will work ^^ thx
LEEEEEROY !!! IT WORKS BABY Thank you MAN !!!!
but i have a next problem now xDD
Seems like my Autofocus for the 5mp cam is gone.
the pictures aren´t sharp, you cant see anything on it... the front cam is ok... everything sharp but the back... horrible, now i have to open it again and repair them. doooorrrgghh

first of all thank you very much for quick replay
the phone is no more able to be putted in bootloader mode
the battry is ok then the led of charg light on when lug it to usb
then there is no possibility to take it to moto for me
so there is an other method to force it (my phone) to get bootloader mode by hardware like gtag in samsung
If your phone shows a black screen right after turning it on, then it means you're on bootloader mode...
Next time pay more attention to the warnings...

Try entering bootloader mode (vol up + camera + power). Even though the screen will stay black (but with backlight turned on), the phone will be in bootloader mode. You can see it by connecting USB cable - the white charging led will light up. At this stage you can simply start flashing latest stock gingerbread firmware via RSD lite. After several minutes the phone screen will display some info about flashing and you just have to wait a little bit longer.
You might be at a bit bigger trouble if your battery is empty. If so, you can try to recharge it with +5V current i.e. from USB port as described in this forum. Or you can find somebody with MS2, just to recharge the battery.
I also simply downgraded my MS2 to Froyo, and had problems like you. I was scared I bricked my phone, but luckily it's not so easy to be damaged!

I'm having the exact same problem, and if someone know how to fix this I would be very grateful.
But before I log out I have a question about this? If the phone's ROM was bricked, what procedure Motorola should take to resolve the issue?
I heard that they make a direct installation on the ROM's cellphone, but just don't know how they do that. If someone knows how to, could tell us to reproduce the same strategy in our home's. I believe this knowledge could fix the problem we have.
:good:
Anyone?

1. Install Moto's USB drivers.
2. Install RSD Lite
3. Download an SBF depending on the software you had before.
4. Reboot into downloader mode, and flash that.
If it still doesn´t work, google it. Use the defy forums, the MS2 has the exact same hardware.
If it STILL doesn't work, google again.
If it STILL WON'T WORK, google once again.
And if it still won't show signs of life, take it to moto's service center. Use your social skills and play dumb and maybe you get a cheap repair.
99% of problems happen when users don't read before flashing. It's explicitly written in huge bloody red letters to NOT downgrade from GB.

99% of problems happen when users don't read before flashing. It's explicitly written in huge bloody red letters to NOT downgrade from GB.

I've tried to flash the phone using sbf_flash at Linux. In older days I used RSD Lite and windows stuffs, now just Linux. But considering the behavior of the phone, it'll not meter what kind of tool I use, the problem will not be resolved. How you've said: "NOT downgrade from GB"
I've done this, and now the phone looks to be over! My mistake!! And now I would like to know if someone have the knowledge to bring the phone back from this situation, without physically change the ROM. What Motorola's service center people do to recover the phone in cases like that? If not involve hardware stuffs, just software, I believe it's possible to fix it for ourselves. And THAT was my question.
I know the things about downgrade, and the loss and bricks that this procedure could make, once I read it. I'm not worried about what was made, but about what could I do from now on, to repair the phone.
What was done there's no coming back!
But thanks anyway. If you know the "how to" to fix bricked phones, I'll be glad!

They use JTAGs, but even if you get your hands in a JTAG box, I don't think we have any way to flash anything with it.

Bootloder mode is running
Fastboot mode rom loading
After rebooting, the leeco is waiting for 15s on the boot screen, and then the black screen and the notification light turn blue.

Try putting the phone into fastboot and use the All in One tool to check to see if the boot loader is still unlocked, sometimes you can flash something that will relock the bootloader and you will get the blue light, which can also mean that the battery is almost dead.
if you can unlock or it shows that it is unlocked, try flashing recovery with All In One tool. If successful Reboot to power off and fully charge phone then wipe and reinstall your rom etc.
Edit:
I just browsed your history, you flashed Jui and the recent Miui roms ( Pie) Anybody else reading stay away from those roms they are poorly made As is the JUI rom that @ceylin45 flashed.
I am pretty sure that the Jui rom or maybe even the Miui Rom uses the S1 bootloader, and that your issue is because you now have a locked S1 bootloader on your phone,
If I am remembering correctly, another XDA user had this exact issue. Caused by flashing a JUI rom.
If you can not unlock it or flash the correct EUI bootloader your only option will be using EUI for the S1, and unfortunately you will never be able to flash a custom rom again, you will be permanently stuck with EUI. This happened a few months ago to a user named Noel, he sold his phone as is.
Thank you very much for your interest.
do you know s1 eui connection i can use
Thank you...

Unfortunately I don't have the guys details, (The guy who flashed the S1 version of EUI) He had the exact same issue that you are now having and he was able to get EUI working, that is what he told us.
I will look around and get back with you
Okay I am back
I found the conversation with that guy on Telegram, but I don't think he uses telegram anymore. You can go here and read his posts : https://t.me/leecolepro3roms/67347
He posted an image, of the files that he extracted from a S1 fastboot rom and pasted those into the leeco Qfil ( If I am remembering correctly. ) A few days later he told me that he got the phone working again by flashing RUI for the S1 which can be found on 4PDA here : http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=819125
Use Google translate and search this thread and you should find some discussions about using the S1 EUI to resolve your issue. Quite a few people apparently had that exact issue a couple of years ago. Again this is all from memory, and I didn't write anything in my notes because I don't have a coolpad. However, I am pretty sure that this will probably help you with at least getting EUI working.
Good luck.
@ceylin45
I updated what I wrote, so I am pinging you in case you didn't see it.
Thank you
I will search
