I have 2 evos and i cannot recive any calls i can make calls and use the internet with no problems but can't recive any! I called sprint and they made do a ##3282# data reset a prl update and a profile update and nothing i going crazy has anyone gone thru this?
I had this problem on hero cdma. Fixed the problem by changing the roaming settings back to default. Sorry I can't remember whether data or voice roaming needed changing as it has been too long. Problem and solution reproducible. This was on stock rom before I ever rooted.

I don't know if any of you can help, but here goes.
I have a Sprint PPC 6700 and cannot receive incoming calls when transferring data over their EVDO network. I have heard that this is an issue with their PRL or something, but don't understand all that stuff.
Do any of y'all know how to hack in and fix this problem?
For more info go to http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-...int-6700s-manufactured-after-4-1-06-a-13.html
If you're using EVDO "internet" the phone should ring, and the EVDO connection should be temp. disconnected. It should not disable incoming calls.
I know of no hacks, but you can use Wi-Fi, and the phone at the same time...

John,
Unfortunately, larryjbjr is describing a problem with the current Sprint 6700. The link included in his post gives more information, but April-1 and newer versions do not ring through when there is an active EVDO connection.

You should check the forum again. One member there (mjreddy) got a test update ROM from sprint and it has a fix in there. Worked on my phone without any problems. Hope this helps.
There is a PRI 1.18 patch over at pdaphonehome.com works great. No need to hard reset either.
I have a quick question, did anyone have any problems with the Sprint network today, as far as sending sms?
The reason I ask is I was unable to send any sms however I was able to receive them, make calls and use data. Everything is 100% now and want to know if it was a network issue or possibly a Rom related issue.
Thanks for any help.
I didnt get an Mms earlier

Once in a while, I get those repeatedly. I have to wait until that person texts me so I can send back, otherwise I cannot.
Interesting. Guess I'll give my Rom the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully it was just a temp problem on Sprint's end.
My friend tried calling twice while I was using 3G Data, he said he could hear the busy tone. Is there a way I can make calls intercept data with 100% success.
It's something having to do with the way CDMA networks handle data transfer.
You can accept calls and use 4G at the same time, but I'm afraid not with 3G/EVDO.

I think he ment that when he was using data calls wouldn't come to his phone.
Calls should automatically interrupt data, i've been booted off the internet, and out of multiplayer games due to incoming calls so you might want to call Sprint perhaps something is awry in your settings.

Just to clarify this, you want to make sure DDTM mode is turned OFF, otherwise you will not get calls while you have an active data connection.
If you can't get a call while starting a data connection, this is unfortunately "normal." In CDMA, the phone has to dial to initiate data... while it's doing this you might miss a call. Always-on data should prevent it from really happening to you, but if you're in a poor service area it may have to keep re-dialing to keep a connection alive.
CDMA just doesn't allow simultaneous voice and data right now.
Now I can't get calls, it gives a busy tone for all calls even with data off. I don't know what is going on. good thing my replacement phone is coming in Tomorrow July 6th.

I've been on Sprint for over 10 years. Using data has never made people hear a busy signal. What should happen is that they just keep ringing till they go to voicemail call Sprint something is wrong.

There are a couple things you could try. First, try calling Sprint and having them reset your profile on their end (don't let them talk you into a wipe and restore), that has fixed some of us in the past. There seems to be a periodic problem latching onto roaming of any sort. Also, have a look at this link for information on how to use the ##775# command to change to a different PRL.

k thanks and ya called sprint before they said to update my profile which i did but didnt help.
And about the thing you sent thats to force roam or something i just want my date roam to work when i need it. But still showed how to change prls thanks anyone know somewhere i can get a fixed prl?
I had the same problem with a different cause and fought with Sprint for almost a week over it.
What you need to do is call the sprint support number and have them "Reload the towers" for your account. This process adds your account back into the roaming tower system and in my case fixed the problem instantly.

Go here for a long history of former PRLs: http://cid-eabe29f3770d8d15.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public/PRLs
Follow these instructions to update your PRL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696073
Start from the solid blue "As of Android Froyo 2.2...." and follow those instructions using the PRL you downloaded instead of the PRL they are describing.
Using the phones on Sprint.
Since three weeks or so, while on LTE, the incoming voice calls are going directly to voice mail.
Sprint looked at it and changed the Network to 3G and now getting a ring for the incoming calls.
Basically, I am forced to run the phones on 3G service.
Need to go to a service center (which is very far for me) to have the phone looked at.
Anyone facing similar issue?
PS: 2 of the 3 PH-1 phones I have, are having the issue.

Google have updated the dialer recently several times, could it be a bug that shows on Sprint, or do you have spam settings on, which I know has caught other people out. Check/play with spam settings in her dialer app.
(other areas I might check (if not dialer or network). I assume all phones were working before correctly, right? Are they different sims or the same sim in different phones? New sims, ie not old one you have cut down hat are old spec. Do lte settings match on different phones?)

Same issue. Did you get it fixed?
I also have this problem on Sprint.
Sometimes restarting the phone fixes the issue, sometimes it doesn't.
Between this and no longer being able to use Google Voice without using a separate number, I think it's time for me to bail on Sprint.
My wife had this issue a bit back. Only happened when the phone was using VoLTE (verified by a debug menu, *#*#4636#*#*, showing both voice/text and data marked as LTE).
Fix was to disable the Enhanced 4G LTE communications option, which forced the phone too fallback to nonVoLTE while still using LTE for data. Again confirmed using the phone information menu which showed voice as 1xRTT and data as LTE.
Hope this help and that we can get a better fix soon.

Didn't work for me either but I figured it out... what I had to do is change a setting under Google Voice in Settings under the tab CALLS change to "Use carrier only" and I did have to turn VoLTE off. I left the Preferred network type as LTE. Phone is working well now, with T-mobile and Google Voice I have been testing it all morning.
