According to the AT&T website, we now have HSPA+ in the Greater NYC area... can anyone confirm?
I am getting crappy speeds (123kb/s down, 7.2kb/s up) as usual in my office on the 58th floor in midtown.

Well I am up in White Plains (where it says we have it). Just did a test and got 5.61mbps down and 1.05mbps up. Fastest I've ever gotten on download. The fastest I have gotten on upload though was around 1.3mbps soon after they released the 1.83 update.
EDIT: Just ran another test and was able to get 6.78mbps down!
My speeds suck....near Union Square. For some reason when I walked outside I was stuck on HSDPA. The last 2 days have been terrible.
Also in mid-town manhattan, i just got
2032kbps down and 282kbps up on my first test and
3136kbps down and 219kbps up on my second test. Ping 256ms.
I have the latest firmware upgrade installed.
Upload speed still sucks.
IN:
queens South ozone park was getting
7.96mbps and 1.49mbps @ 127ms ping
IN midtown rockefellcenter
0.69mbps and 0.12mbps @ 157ms ping
also on 1.8.3 where my finger print scanner is dead -__-

thats right you are! keep being impressed. last year i did a very extensive testing of all 4 major networks. i did the tests just like this in three different markets. elizabethtown kentucky=rural indianapolis=metro louisville kentucky=mid way
and in the 30 days i tested the carriers sprint destroyed the other. i never lost 1 call with sprint, i lost 6 with att. 4 with tmo. and 1 with verizon. data speeds, sprint beat them all with verizon in second. and data while traveling (75 mph on I 65) i had data 100% with sprint, i hit a dead spot with verizon and att and tmo i didnt have it 30% of the time.
but anyways i ended up choosing sprint again. no one comes close to them IMHO.
thats my rant. i cant wait to get some developing on with the evo when i get it.
In your case it worked well, but I live in San Diego in a quite popular area and sprint service is mediocre at my house and my wife's workplace. In fact, at her workplace it is terrible. At&t was much better
So for the past 2 days or so, my 4G speed has slowed down to like 50 kb download and 200 kb upload. Up til this point I was getting closer to 5 mb download and 1 mb upload on average. I called sprint to ask if they were doing any work in my area that would cause this issue, and they told me they have not had any other problems reported from anyone else.
I flashed the latest wimax, updated profile/prl. Any other ideas? As a side note, for the past couple weeks flash intensive website will only load 4/5 of the way on 4G. I have posted about this before, and while others have had similar problems, there does not seem to be any definite solution.
Experiencing horrible speed, and unstable connectivity in flushing NY.
Can't even open up web pages most of the times.
2-3 4g bars btw.
I've been experiencing the same issue also.. did a couple google searches on "4G throttling" and sounds like that may be the reason.
Hmm.. no problem here for me in downtown NYC:

Update:
I'm actually in SLC, Utah. I went into a Sprint store today that is about 3 blocks away from my house and tested the Evo there for 4G speeds to compare and speeds were normal. So of course while I am talking to the rep saying that for the past few days my speeds have been terrible, I pull my phone out and test it and of course it works just fine... 4G speeds were testing about 5 mb download.
Isn't it funny how things seem to start working at the most ironic times? Oh well, just glad it's working again.
4g is live in Cincinnati

where in cincinnati are you?
I've heard its suppose to go live soon, wondering how much of the cincinati/northern kentucky area it will cover. I haven't gotten a signal, yet in NKY.

i have gotten a 4g signal from west chester all the way to the walmart in ft.wright
Time Warner Cable seems to have more updated 4G maps than Clearwire does. It show all the areas in Cincinnati and Cleveland (which both haven't had official 4G launches) where there is 4G service. If you go to http[colon][slash][slash]timewarnercable[dot]cellmaps[dot]com[slash]viewer[dot]html you can see the map. (I'm a new user so I can't post links)
I was getting 4g in Hamilton and Fairfield when I went to Jungle Jim's Friday.

looks like cincy side of the river is covered well, but still creeping slowly over to the kentucky side,
that map is the most detailed I have seen so far.
Yea it seems like coverage has moved slowly I had real shaky reception at first but now its consistently strong.
I have noticed that the new YouTube app likes to fail to play videos when I'm on 4g.

i get a signal on 471 near the big mac bridge, I also get a low signal at work near mitchel ave. I dont get a signal at home yet though which is near the anderson/cheecmont area.
Over all it is still pretty spotty reguardless of what the maps say but it does seem to be getting better.
theres a speed test thread in just about every other forum so i thought id start one here to lol.

thats using prl 52341 40miles outside of atlanta.
Is that using app or browser? I live in norcal mts and the only net options I have are verizon 3g or aol dialup and the nearest broadband is 4hrs south in Sacramento. I have always wondered if it was possible to boost 3g speeds or what the limiting factors were? My 3g has never gone over 1.8 mbs and 1.2 is typical on my android (0.6-1.1 mbs max on my BB LOL)

I was tethered using my computers browser.

You could try a network extender... There also is a speedtest.net app in the market.
This is my speed with two or three bars of signal
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA Premium App
Yeah I use that and cnlabs test...best results were from pdanet almost 1.9 (one time) but I get a more consistent 1.3from wifi tether recently and 1.6 as its top (once)

I'm in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with 2 bars of 3g. My speed is avg of 500kbps down and 100 kbps up. I have hit as high as 1meg down on the right day. Pings are usually in the ~125ms range.
Sweet, I'll be DL'ng speedtest later.
I'm such a nerd............................................
Just thought I would ask what kind of speeds others are getting on the DC-HSDPA data. I was amazed with regular download speeds of over 15Mbps but tested just today and got 26.2 Mbps down and 3.38Mbps up.
This is unbeleivable, who needs 4G.
This is on the 3 network by the way.

AW: HTC One Data Speeds
German VF LTE, look @ signal strenght
one'ed....
i think he meant the bbc news APP is back ...because it was incompatible with the htc one at the beginning (sorry wrong thread )
From my understanding DC-HSDPA (DC=dual channel) requires you to have good reception from TWO base stations. So you need to be in a city centre or densely covered area. If you are on the outskirts of anywhere, you are likely only to get one strong connection. So far the highest I saw was 14Meg on Three, but I haven't been into London with the One yet.
LTE will be better because you only need a good connection with one base station to get those kinds of numbers.
So while it is true that DC-HSDPA gets very close to LTE...LTE will be more consistent once its widespread.
Wow I need to get one of those phones I'm on 3 and in London my one X only gets like 3mbps
